Must read! Death threats work. The cowards in the MSM are getting the message. Rewrite the truth or pay with your life.-----When I Questioned the History of Muhammad

When I Questioned the History of Muhammad - WSJ:
"The collapse of Roman power in the Near East was the flip side of another story: the rise of Islam.
The Arab armies who seized from the Romans the provinces of Palestine, Syria and Egypt were Muslim, according to traditional historiography, and had been inspired to their remarkable feats of conquest by the revelations of a prophet, Muhammad.
It took me only a cursory immersion in the scholarship of the period to realize that these presumptions were (to put it mildly) widely contested.
Indeed, it was hard to think of another field of history where quite so much was up for grabs.
...Never before, though, had it—or, indeed, any other British TV channel—aired a documentary questioning the basis of what most Muslims believed about the origins of their faith.
I still remember a feeling of almost physical panic as I stood on the battlements of an abandoned Roman city in the Negev Desert and raised the possibility, on camera, that Muhammad might not have come from Mecca.
The director, the brilliant and award-winning filmmaker Kevin Sim, had aimed to make me and my anxieties about what I was doing a part of the film, and he more than succeeded.
There is barely a shot in the documentary in which I do not look mildly terrified.
......I felt tolerably confident that no one would get too upset.
It didn’t take long for me to realize my mistake.
Just a few minutes into the broadcast, my Twitter stream was going up in smoke.
By the time the show ended, the death threats were coming in thick and fast—and not just against me but against my family as well.
Channel 4 was also deluged with protests.
...Two weeks later, I was still fielding death threats...
It was the one time that I seriously imagined I might end up as the new Salman Rushdie.
...At a conference organized by Oxford University to discuss my book and film, I was asked what lessons I had learned.
The chief one, I answered, was that the freedom to write history without intimidation was no longer something that I took for granted. But I also had learned that it was possible, when my work came under attack, to defend it without yielding to threats....

Chicago crime stats: Just another year in Lib paradise

Chicago crime stats: Just another year in Lib paradise | The Black Sphere | TheBlackSphere.net | The Black Sphere | TheBlackSphere.net:
"Chicago actually had 407 homicides in 2014, a 3 percent drop from roughly the same period last year, when there were 419 homicide, based on stats released recently.
407 represented the lowest number of homicides since 1965 when 395 people were slain, according to the department.
Keep in mind this figure did not include pending investigations of homicides, so as with all government statistics, the numbers could end up worse.
Let’s see what the new year holds, as last year 2,599 people were shot, and that’s up from 2,272 in 2013. My bet is Chicago will have another banner year of murder, and we can only hope that criminals heed Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s advice, and “take it to the alley.”
But the number of shooting victims increased 14 percent, to 2,599 from 2,272 in 2013, the statistics show."

What did the shoppers in a Jewish supermarket, four of whom were slaughtered, have to do with the cartoon images of Mohammad?

In light of all the expressed concern about possible anti-Muslim incidents, claims on television that "Muslims are the most persecuted people" seemed jarring and wrong.

Perhaps they should have spent a little time reporting on the anti-Jewish rioting that took place in the heavily Muslim neighborhood of Trappes, a suburb of Paris?
A seemingly required inclusion in most reports on the recent mass murder in Paris was the rhetorical question posed by reporters has been:
"Will these events invite a wave of anti-Muslim incidents"?
Since these Islam-inspired murders, however, there have been only a few anti-Muslim actions -- all against property.
Under-reported, however, was how rapidly the assault against Charlie Hebdo migrated into an anti-Jewish mini-pogrom in the heart of Paris.
What did shoppers in a kosher market, four of whom were slaughtered, have to do with the cartoon images of Mohammad?
Nothing.

Equating Prudence with Cowardice

Equating Prudence with Cowardice by Theodore Dalrymple, City Journal 7 January 2015
How long would it take for a Western journalist to blame the Charlie Hebdomurders on French colonialism and journalistic insensitivity to the feelings of Muslims?
Not nearly as long, I suspected, as it would take a journalist in the Muslim world to blame them on the legacy of Mohammed and Islam.
And I was right.
It took less than four hours for an associate editor of theFinancial Times, Tony Barber, to post a piece on the website of his august publication blaming the journalists and cartoonists of the satirical French magazine (and the two policemen as well?) for their own deaths
Here is what he originally wrote and posted, though he later edited out the final clause:
[Charlie Hebdo] has a long record of mocking, baiting and needling French Muslims . . . [This] is merely to say that some common sense would be useful at publications such as Charlie Hebdo . . . which purport to strike a blow for freedom when they provoke Muslims, but are actually just being stupid.
According to this perverted logic, if the relatives of the 12 murdered men were now to storm into the offices of the Financial Times and shoot 12 staff members because of the considerable provocation offered by Tony Barber, it will prove only that Barber had just been stupid.
There is, of course, a relevant difference between the two cases: when he wrote his disgraceful little article, Barber knew perfectly well that the relatives of the murdered men would not behave in this fashion, and that therefore he was not “just being stupid.”
Hence, he equates prudence with cowardice, a sure way to encourage (though not perhaps to provoke, in his sense of the word) more such attacks.

Must read!---First Amendment, Second Amendment, and Sharia Law

First Amendment, Second Amendment, and Sharia Law
"...If you don't have the right to keep and bear arms, you don't have freedom of the press.
The state cannot protect you.
It can only try to find your assassins.
Liberal democracy is committed to freedom of the press.
Islam is not.
Here is an editorial that was run inUSA Today by a man identified as a teacher of Sharia law in Great Britain.
This man has clearly set forth the principles of Islam as they apply to freedom of the press. He was given freedom of the press by USA Today.
We read: People know the consequences: Opposing view.
He took this opportunity to send us a message about consequences.
Contrary to popular misconception, Islam does not mean peace but rather means submission to the commands of Allah alone. Therefore, Muslims do not believe in the concept of freedom of expression, as their speech and actions are determined by divine revelation and not based on people's desires....
... Here is the title of the editorial: Why did France allow the tabloid to provoke Muslims?
http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/01/07/islam-allah-muslims-shariah-anjem-choudary-editorials-debates/21417461/
Got it?
He blamed the French authorities for not passing laws against cartoons ridiculing Mohammed.
Such laws do not exist in Western democracies.
But Sharia law exists.
Editors had better get the message.
If you are an editor, and you run cartoons like this, carry a gun.
Hire guards who carry guns.
Arm your staff.
Europe will not allow this.
There is gun control in Europe.
...The level of confrontation has gone up.
The stakes have gone up.
The terrorists are going to get away with this.
Those radical Muslims who are willing to take up machine guns against unarmed employees of publishing houses will see what has happened, and they will cheer in private.
When you're dealing with people who are willing to die in a war, and who see this as a war, there is nothing you can do to stop them if you are unarmed.
They can kill you at any time if they want to.
All they have to be willing to do is pay the price.
The murderers who killed 12 innocent people have made this clear.
This is not patty-cake.
The stakes are life and death.

"Medical disability?!!!"------You're Not Going To Believe How Much HHS Officials Spent To Fly First Class

You're Not Going To Believe How Much HHS Officials Spent To Fly First Class » Dc Gazette
Let's see.
7000 flights-1400 flights over 14 hours=5600 flights not eligible for 1st class status.
5600 flights not eligible-5100 flights upgraded cuz of undefined "medical disability"=500 flights at "taxpayer class".
Or, more likely, business class.
Sooooo, 89% of HHS travelers have a "travel disability"?!!!!!!!

Adding to the outrage of how much the Obama Administration spends on travel, thanks to the Washington Examiner and the Freedom of Information Act, we now know what Health and Human Services staffers under former Secretary Kathleen Sebelius were spending to fly all over the world.
In a nutshell: a lot.
The basic facts:
Between 2009 and 2013, executives spent $31 million to take 7,000 first class flights
253 of those trips were one way tickets that cost $15,000

Records indicate that for $18 million worth of first class tickets, coach seats on the same flights would have cost $4.9 million
Of the 7,000 flights, only 1,400 were longer than 14 hours, for which a first class ticket is allowed (can’t say I blame anyone for taking advantage of that)
According to the records, on 5,100 of the flights where officials upgraded, a medical disability was used as the reason; what medical disabilities qualify or were used was not described
Former Secretary Sebelius, snazzy Kate herself, took 14 first class flights for a total of $56,000 some being of the Paris to India variety
It wasn’t just the HHS people, but their sub-departments as well:

The oppressive burden of female privilege - Breitbart:

"Women have it pretty bad in the West – but perhaps not for the reasons you imagine, if, say, you’re a regular reader of the Guardian or Jezebel. Because, although women in Asia and the Middle East have to navigate stonings for adultery, acid thrown in their faces for refusing arranged marriages and being screwed out of their rightful inheritances by sharia law, the western sisterhood struggles under the yoke of an even more pernicious form of oppression, known as female privilege."

European 'No-Go' Zones for Non-Muslims Proliferating

European 'No-Go' Zones for Non-Muslims Proliferating
Islamic extremists are stepping up the creation of "no-go" areas in European cities that are off-limits to non-Muslims.
Many of the "no-go" zones function as microstates governed by Islamic Sharia law. Host-country authorities effectively have lost control in these areas and in many instances are unable to provide even basic public aid such as police, fire fighting and ambulance services.
The "no-go" areas are the by-product of decades of multicultural policies that have encouraged Muslim immigrants to create parallel societies and remain segregated rather than become integrated into their European host nations.
The so-called Islamic Emirates would function as autonomous enclaves ruled by Islamic Sharia law and operate entirely outside British jurisprudence.
The Islamic Emirates Project names the British cities of Birmingham, Bradford, Derby, Dewsbury, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester, Sheffield, as well as Waltham Forest in northeast London and Tower Hamlets in East London as territories to be targeted for blanket Sharia rule.
In the Tower Hamlets area of East London (also known as the Islamic Republic of Tower Hamlets), for example, extremist Muslim preachers, called the Tower Hamlets Taliban, regularly issue death threats to women who refuse to wear Islamic veils
Neighborhood streets have been plastered with posters declaring "You are entering a Sharia controlled zone: Islamic rules enforced."

Blasphemy for Me, But Not For Thee

Blasphemy for Me, But Not For Thee | Washington Free Beacon
"Do liberals actually believe in the right to offend?
Their attitude seems to me to be ambivalent at best.
And this equivocation was apparent within hours of the attack, when news outlets censored or refused to publish the images for which the Charlie Hebdo editors were killed.
Classifying satire or opinion as “hate speech” subject to regulation is not an aberration.
It is commonplace.
Indeed, the outpouring of support for free speech in the aftermath of the Paris attack coincides with, and partially obscures, the degradation of speech rights in the West.
Commencement last year was marked by universities revoking appearances by speakers Condoleezza Rice and Ayaan Hirsi Ali for no other reason than that mobs disagreed with the speakers’ points of view. I do not recall liberals rallying behind Condi and Hirsi Ali then.
Nor do I recall liberals standing up for the critics of global warming and evolutionary theory, of same-sex marriage and trans rights and women in combat, of riots in Ferguson and of Obama’s decision to amnesty millions of illegal immigrants.
On the contrary: To dissent from the politically correct and conventional and fashionable is to invite rebuke, disdain, expulsion from polite society, to court the label of Islamophobe or denier or bigot or cisnormative or misogynist or racist or carrier of privilege and irredeemable micro-aggressor.
For the right to offend to have any meaning, however, it cannot be limited to theistic religions.
You must have the right to offend secular humanists, too.

Former Haiti official: We have no idea where all that recovery money went | WashingtonExaminer.com
Nearly five years after a 7.0 magnitude quake killed hundreds of thousands of its citizens, Haiti’s recovery efforts remain muddled and confused, with the whereabouts of the billions of dollars pledged by the international community an apparent mystery to the country’s leaders.
“We don’t know where the money has gone,” Raymond Joseph, former ambassador of Haiti to the U.S., said Friday in an interview on Bloomberg’s “Market Makers.”
In 2010, Haiti was rocked by a deadly earthquake that claimed the lives of between 200,000 and 300,000 people.
In response to the tragedy, the international community pledged an estimated nine billion dollars in foreign aid to help Haiti's recovery efforts.
However, according to Joseph, much of the pledged cash never made it to Haiti.
And the money that did make it to Haiti has mysteriously disappeared.

Country Music Star Slams Left’s Pro-Muslim Agenda AND DEFENDS Gun Owners in One AWESOME Tweet:

"Still, as President Obama conspicuously dodged citing Islam’s role in the slaughter, liberals worked to weave a flimsy narrative: it’s wrong to condemn a religion based on the actions of a few bad apples.

Though the left insists that it’s wrong to conclude that Islam, the religion at the heart of so much worldwide violence, is a religion of violence, country music star Travis Tritt reminded his Twitter followers that here in America, Americans exercising a constitutional right is routinely vilified based on the actions of a few."

In addition to Obama’s comments Wednesday in the immediate aftermath of the Paris shooting, Brighton referenced his speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York Sept. 25, 2012, in which he said, “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”
Not wanting to limit his remarks to Islam, Obama also addressed critics of Christianity and Judaism, saying,"...
