Students are not required to pay any federal loans back while enrolled in school, and loans can be used to pay for living costs, including food, housing, and other necessary expenses.

"HLN, the sibling cable network to CNN, has an in-house “legal expert” named Joey Jackson who specializes in criminal law.
It asked him to weigh in on whether the University of Oklahoma’s expulsion of the alleged leaders of a racist chant on a bus was unconstitutional.
According to former College Fix editor Robby Soave at Reason, Jackson was initially quoted as saying: “Hate speech is not protected by the Constitution as it has no social value.” 
That analysis puts him at odds with mainstream constitutional law authorities.
At some later point, HLN actually reversed his quote, Soave says in an update to his post. Jackson’s quote now reads: “Hate speech is protected by the Constitution despite its limited social value.”
There’s no editor’s note in the HLN story saying the post has been revised, much less how it was revised, or whether Jackson was initially misquoted or asked that his quote be revised.
This is standard practice in Web journalism."

By rights, Stephen Jimenez ought to be a famous author and his book a bestseller - and taught in journalism schools, law school, and police academy to boot. 

Because his subject - the murder of Matthew Shepard 17 years ago - is the clearest example of what happens when a favored lobby group inserts itself between the news coverage and reality. 
The official version - gay martyrdom in the heartland of a bigoted rural America - is still being peddled, in The Huffington Post and on the Oprah Network. 
The fact that it is completely false makes no difference to the Big Gay enforcers, as Mr Jimenez, who is himself gay, discovered when he set out to tell the truth about what happened.

Stephen Jimenez spent 13 years researching The Book of Matt: Hidden Truths About the Murder of Matthew Shepard, which argues that the Matthew Shepard story, a US 21-year-old student who was allegedly beaten to death for being gay in 1998, as it has been popularly told has little, if anything, to do with the details of Matthew's life and death. He spoke with me this week about the book, and some of the well-guarded territory it covers.

Mark Adnum: You've said that the media reported the story of Matthew's murder 'inaccurately from the beginning', and as a result 'an overtly simplistic narrative got set in stone'. What core elements of the story are inaccurate?

Stephen Jimenez: Nearly every national news organisation originally reported that Matthew Shepard and his killers were strangers on the night they met. But Aaron McKinney and Matthew Shepard were not strangers. On the contrary, they had a tangled friendship and personal relationship that involved sex and drugs, primarily crystal meth. They partied together, bought and sold meth from each other, and had gotten to know each other months before the October 1998 attack. Interestingly, Aaron and Matthew were friends before Aaron and his accomplice Russell Henderson began their friendship in early summer 1998.

Scientific research at universities is supposed to involve inquiry into established theories and hypotheses.
That is, unless they question environmental regulations.
One UCLA science researcher, a 34-year veteran of the school, found himself out of a job in 2011 after examining the data underlying diesel regulations proposed by a California regulator and exposing the shoddy credentials of a lead author of that regulator’s report.
James Enstrom secured victory in a two-and-a-half year legal battle against UCLA last week when the school agreed to settle the case.
The school is paying the “diesel particulate matter” expert $140,000, reinstating his title as “Retired Researcher,” and restoring his access to UCLA resources, “effectively” rescinding his termination, according to the American Center for Law & Justice, which represented Enstrom.
...UCLA retaliated against Enstrom after he “became an aggressive and lone critic at UCLA of air pollution research,” escalating in 2008 after he testified in California Senate hearings, according to alawsuit filed by the center in 2012.
...Enstrom exposed fraudulent behavior in the studies on which the board relied, including that of the lead author of a 2008 report. 
Hien Tran “admitted he purchased” a magna cum laude Ph.D. for $1,000 from a “diploma mill associated with a fugitive pedophile,” according to CalWatchdog.

How do we know the war is coming in the first place? 

Because the advertising for it is out. 

Amongst plenty of other evidence, one Chinese front organisation conducted a poll on Australian attitudes to the ANZUS treaty and a Chinese attack on Japan. Why would they conduct such a poll unless they are going to attack Japan? 
Not that they were interested in the results as such. 
They just wanted to be able to publicize the poll in order to try to keep Australia on the sidelines of their war.
The war will have two functions for China.  
Firstly, it will provide legitimacy for the regime as economic growth stalls. 
Secondly, the Chinese will have pride in humiliating their neighbouring countries, and the United States, by defeating them in battle and creating no-go zones in the oceans which other countries won’t be able to enter without Chinese permission. 
The war will have nothing to do with oil and gas resources under the seabed and securing sea-lanes.  The Chinese have never offered those excuses for their behavior themselves. 
The excuses are the creation of Western pundits for something that otherwise is stupid, destructive, and primitive.
Some have seen this war coming well in advance.  
In 2005, Robert Kaplan wrote an article entitled How We Would Fight China. 
In it he notes that China will approach the war “asymmetrically, as terrorists do.
In Iraq the insurgents have shown us the low end of asymmetry, with car bombs.
the Chinese are poised to show us the high end of the art.”

Of the seven organizations named as part of the “statewide coalition,” three are obscure organizations based out of Royal Oak and three others are located in Detroit.
All the organizations appear to have just a handful of employees, and some appear to have just one staff member, based on information from the organizations’ websites
...Charles Owens, state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, said the campaign in favor of paid sick leave was trying to mask its real sponsors – something commonly known as “astroturfing.”
“Despite the advocates efforts to give the illusion of a 'homegrown, grass roots movement', the fact is that this is a national movement backed by big labor organizations,” Owens said.
“We have reports of a very organized and unified effort in many states following the same tactics, including a federal push.”

Economic Justice Alliance of Michigan lists one staffer on its website, Dessa Cosma-King, who also serves as the co-director of another organization called the Michigan Center for Progressive Leadership. The two other staff members are only identified as titles with the Michigan Center for Progressive Leadership. The Economic Justice Alliance of Michigan lists its address at 104 W. Fourth St., Suite 306, Royal Oak. That address is listed on a Royal Oak website as the office of the Center for Progressive Leadership.

The Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network lists two employees on its website, which it states was designed by the director. It says it is a nonprofit based out of Royal Oak. Guidestar has no information on it other than it is registered with the IRS. The address filed with the IRS, to which the network directs people to send donations, is listed on real-estate websites as a single-family residence.

But wait, it gets worse.
Somewhere along the way, the worker bees at Connect for Health Colorado dragooned us into an Obamacare exchange plan offered by Rocky Mountain Health without our knowledge or consent. (How else has the White House inflated Obamacare enrollment figures? Things that make you go "hmm.")
Last month, we received an IRS 1095-A form, which, much to our shock and chagrin, indicated that we had paid Obamacare premiums every month during 2014.
It took hours of time on the phone and Internet to receive an explanation from Connect for Health Colorado on how exactly this happened.
Here was the government's response, word for incomprehensible word:
"We apologize for the delay in responding to your email. 
After checking your account we are showing you might have had coverage from October 2014 to June 2014.
 Please call the number below to speak with a Customer Service Representative if this information is incorrect."
"Might" have had coverage? From "October 2014 to June 2014"?

Planet Fitness and its transgender “no judgment zone” policy is reportedly resulting in gym membership cancellations by women concerned about their safety in locker rooms. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a Midland Planet Fitness center revoked a woman’s membership after she complained about an individual with male genitalia who identifies as a female, in the ladies locker room.

The Planet Fitness former member at the heart of the transgender policy controversy, Yvette Cormier, recently spoke to WNEM News about the incident. Cormier said she thought the individual in the Planet Fitness locker room was a man. After she went to the front desk at the gym to alert them about what she considered a startling incident and to complain, her membership was revoked.[…]

Michigan State Representative Gary Glenn deemed the transgender policy at Planet Fitness an “in-your-face policy” that threatens the safety of female members.

Planet Fitness officials also stated that patrons and their guests are permitted to use the rest rooms and locker rooms at all of their facilities based upon their “self-reported gender identity.”[..]...
