MADNESS AT MICHIGAN

MADNESS AT MICHIGAN
Minding The Campus
In the liberal ghetto of Ann Arbor, several University of Michigan administrators recently gathered for a passionate brainstorm.
The head of student affairs declared he was simply “going to die” if he heard about one more so-called micro-aggression on campus.
When a colleague told him he was “acting crazy” for being so sensitive, he was shipped off to a mandatory session for freshmen where he learned about white privilege and determined that he would never say anything potentially controversial again.
And with that, the Inclusive Language Campaign was born.
Under this new initiative, which is all the rage at Michigan and some other universities, the quoted words used in the above paragraph are considered offensive.
In addition to posters plastered around campus urging us to “Stop. Think.” before we speak, my peers and I have been encouraged to sign an ambiguously written Inclusive Language Campaign pledge. We’re all being drafted as thought police, charged with regulating the speech of our peers.
Sounds like a joke, right?
If so, it’s one that my school, a public university, has reportedly spent $16,000 on.
Apparently that’s the budget necessary to explain that words such as “jewed” and “gyped” are offensive.
My grandmother could have told you that for free, saving Michigan thousands on the morally obvious.  MORE

What Scott Walker Says Will Happen If ‘Radical Islamic Terrorism’ Isn’t Completely Stamped Out | Video | TheBlaze.com:

“We need a commander in chief in this country who stands up once and for all and says our biggest threat is radical Islamic terrorism,” Walker told a group of GOP activists, the Journal Sentinel in Milwaukee reported, “and we will do whatever it takes to weed that out anywhere in the world.”

A potential candidate for the 2016 election, Walker added: “We need a president who will do whatever it takes, whatever it takes. Who understands we have an ally in Israel and we should start acting like it. Who understands that radical Islamic terrorism is like a virus and if you don’t take it out entirely, it’s like a virus in your computer that will keep coming back.”

Stunning pictures capture America's aircraft carriers in all their humongous glory as they sail the world

Stunning pictures capture America's aircraft carriers in all their humongous glory as they sail the world | Daily Mail Online:
"On September 11, 2001, the USS Enterprise was cruising the Indian Ocean when news broke that the World Trade Center and Pentagon had been hit by hijacked airplanes.
The aircraft carrier was immediately turned around towards the Middle East, and for weeks carried out air raids on the terrorist cells believed to have carried out the attack.
When it comes to military might, America's greatest weapon is its large fleet of aircraft carriers that patrol the world and can respond to incidents in a matter of hours from international waters.
No other country in the world maintains a fleet as large as the U.S., giving America no uncertain advantage.
There are currently 10 supercarriers in commission, two under construction and another in planning. The few countries that can afford to invest in aircraft carriers usually maintain just one - at the most two.
See how America's aircraft carriers have changed over the years, from one of the first launched in 1920 to the modern super carrier."

Iran Unveils Chilling New Weapon Days After Netanyahu's Warning:
"Iran has a chilling new weapon — the Soumar surface-to-surface missile.
The missile was unveiled only a few days after Netanyahu spoke about Iran’s missile program, saying that it posed a threat not just to Israel, but also eventually the U.S.
He remarked that “Iran’s Intercontinental Ballistic Missile program is not part of the deal, and so far, Iran refuses to even put it on the negotiating table."

"An Islamic State group spokesman says the jihadist group aims to “blow up” the White House, Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower on its way to conquering Paris, Rome, Portugal and Spain.

The threat was delivered Thursday by spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani in a nearly 30-minute audio message titled, “So They Kill And Are Killed.” The title refers to a verse in the Koran.

“We want, Allah willing, Paris before Rome and before Al-Andalus [Spain and Portugal], [and] after that we will blacken your life and blow up your White House, Big Ben, and the Eiffel Tower, Allah willing,” Adnani said."

Hollywood Conservative’s ‘Urgent Message’ to Israel: ‘America Has Not Been the Same’ Since Obama | Video | TheBlaze.com:

"Specifically that Obama’s “whole agenda is to control Israel,” Voight said — and one way to accomplish that is by seeing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lose on March 17 to challenger Isaac Herzog.

“I love Israel. I want to see Israel survive and not be overtaken by the mad men of this world,” Voight noted on a video message to its citizens.

“President Obama does not love Israel. His whole agenda is to control Israel,” Voight added. “In this way, he can be friends with all of Israel’s enemies. He doesn’t want Bibi Netanyahu to win this upcoming election. America has not been the same since his presidency. I beg all of you to understand the truth.”

Americans move government itself to No. 1 on their list of concerns

Americans move government itself to No. 1 on their list of concerns - Investors.com:
"You may recall that Barack Obama campaigned and entered the Oval Office 2,243 days ago confidently asserting that government — his government — could fix pretty much any problem facing the country.
You may also recall the trillion-dollar stimulus spending package that was going to start producing hundreds of thousands of jobs each month in the summer of 2010.
You may also recall how the good ship ObamaCare was going to right the nation's health care system by covering more people at less cost while saving families $2,500 each and allowing them to keep their doctor if they wanted.
And so much more.
Here we are after so many failed fixes and the partial-term senator is older but talking no wiser, recently proposing that the federal government underwrite two years of free college for everyone.
...And Obama seems to have turned to entertaining himself more, spending $2 million in taxpayer money this week to fly to Los Angeles for an appearance on a late-night show.
And also, of course, to raise some money for the party.
This afternoon he'll stop for a photo op at a veterans hospital in Phoenix.
...In fact, voters now list government itself as the biggest problem facing the country.
After lagging lower on the list of the country's concerns chronicled by a Gallup survey of 1,027 adults, government has recently surged to the top worry, 18%, up one point from February.
The government, economy and unemployment/jobs have been the dominant problems on the minds of surveyed Americans for more than a year now.
...While dissatisfaction with government is by no means a new issue to the American people," said the Gallup analysis, "it has not in recent months been as clearly the leading problem as it is now.""

They are royalty. We are serfs----Former Ann Arbor transit authority CEO spent $40K on taxpayer-funded meals

Former Ann Arbor transit authority CEO spent $40K on taxpayer-funded meals | MLive.com:
As CEO of the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority, Michael Ford billed the agency for nearly $40,000 worth of taxpayer-funded meals over the last five years.
...Ford's expense reports during the five-year period also show $67,515 was spent on national trips to places like Orlando, Seattle and Washington, D.C., where he attended conferences and met with other transit leaders and lawmakers.
He went on another $15,571 worth of in-state trips, including trips to Mackinac Island for conferences.
His expenses for local meetings and meals totaled $31,558.
...Ford said there was a lot of value in the meetings he had over many breakfasts, lunches and dinners with various people.
He said it was about outreach and engagement and getting the AAATA's message out about plans for expanding service.
"This took a Herculean effort to do everything that we did and we had to change the trajectory of where we were," Ford said....
Read it and get ANGRY.
Angry enough to do something!!!

Lest we forget.

Kerry Compares His Courage To Lincoln, Churchill, Dr. King, Gandhi And Mandela - Fox Nation:
Secretary of State John Kerry compared himself to Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln and other great historical luminaries for having the courage and tenacity to tackle the most heinous enemy plaguing mankind — climate change.
“My heroes are people who dared to take on great challenges without knowing for certain what the outcome would be,” Kerry said in an address to the Atlantic Council on Thursday.
“Lincoln took risks, Gandhi took risks, Churchill took risks, Dr. King took risks, Mandela took risks, but that doesn’t mean that every risk-taker is a role model.”

Megyn Kelly visibly in awe of black student’s response to racist frat video

Megyn Kelly visibly in awe of black student’s response to racist frat video - BizPac Review:
"The most telling moment of the interview came when Kelly asked Hill what he would tell the people who’ve attacked the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house with graffitti — or even issued death threats against its members.
“Let’s not let their hate spark hate with us,” he said. “Let’s just let their hate spark love with us, and let them learn, and let’s teach them how to be good American citizens.”
Kelly was openly impressed.
“Isaac Hill, you’re an extraordinary young man,” she said. “God bless you.”

Netanyahu Vows He Will Not Give Up Territory, Quotes Book of Isaiah in Final Rally Before Tuesday’s Election | TheBlaze.com:

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told tens of thousands of right-wing voters Sunday that if reelected Tuesday he would make no territorial concessions to the Palestinians or divide the capital Jerusalem.

Throngs of religious and right-wing Israelis converged on Tel Aviv Sunday night to show support for Netanyahu whose Likud party has in all polls over the past week trailed its chief left-wing rival, the Zionist Union, for the party likely to win the largest number of seats in the Knesset.

Netanyahu called the elections “fateful.”

Seattle Restaurants Closing in Record Number as $15 Minimum Wage Approaches

Seattle Restaurants Closing in Record Number as $15 Minimum Wage Approaches:

"$15 per hour, hell, why not $50 or $100?

A very important lesson in economics is being learned — the hard way — for many restaurant workers in Seattle as the impending $15 minimum wage hike is resulting in a record number of restaurants across the city closing."

Buying political cronies with your tax dollars------A federal agency's laundromat worker belongs to the 1 percent

A federal agency's laundromat worker belongs to the 1 percent - Watchdog.org:
"...Yes, the federal government has some of those, too.
Laundry operations services worker Joseph Bryant topped the list for 2010 through 2013 (the data’s available from 2010 to 2014), pulling in $115,443 from the Veterans Health Administration in Los Angeles in 2013.
But Bryant isn’t alone as a federal employee laundering his way into the upper middle class.
Across a variety of agencies and locations, and multiple job titles, cleaning fabrics can produce above-average income across the country.
“Laboring” is another occupation with oddly high pay.
Tommie Lampley, of the Veterans Health Administration, beat the six-figure line for the latest three years of data.
Even among the rest, who don’t cross that milestone, laborers do well in navy installations, at the National Gallery of Art, in the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and in other agencies.
...Who would have thought that one could make up to $85,000 per year “buffing and polishing” at the U.S. Mint?
“Tree trimming and removing” at the Presidio site in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has brought Jason Thurm over the $90,000 mark, and his arborist peers across the country aren’t far behind.
“Custodial working” can bring employees over $80,000 per year.
Out at sea, “insulating” (actual insulating, not protecting politicians from consequences) breaks $100,000....
If you’re one of the disorganized masses of Americans struggling every day just to earn enough to make ends meet, how could you hope to reign in these legions of highly motivated, well-paid employees greasing the skids of the national political machine?.."

Did ANYONE really believe the cameras would be on when we needed them?---Independent report: Denver police shut off body cameras during use of force

Independent report: Denver police shut off body cameras during use of force - National News | Examiner.com:
"The Denver Police Department is undergoing more scrutiny after reports came out on Tuesday that they turned off their body cameras while on duty.
...Jessica Hernandez, a 17-year-old, was gunned down by police in January.
Police said that she attempted to run them over when they opened fire, killing her.
But the autopsy showed that the account given by the cops was untrue, as she was fired on at close range from the driver’s side door.
Not only that, but police attempted to stop witnesses from recording the incident in order to cover up what really happened.
Denver police have been wearing body cameras as part of a six-month-long test program to monitor violent actions taken by police.
But only about a quarter of the use of force activities were actually recorded.
For their part, the police department claims that their numbers show a much higher percentage, but that still begs the question of how effective body cameras can be if the officer can simply switch them off."

The Harvard Law Review Just Gave a Boost to Ted Cruz’s Potential Run for President | TheBlaze.com

The Harvard Law Review Just Gave a Boost to Ted Cruz’s Potential Run for President | TheBlaze.com:

"An article published in the Harvard Law Review is giving a boost to what appears to be the increasingly likely presidential run of Ted Cruz.

Cruz, the Republican senator from Texas, was born in Canada and recently made a point to renounce any Canadian citizenship. His father, who had Cuban citizenship but was an American resident, was working in the oil field in Calgary when the younger Cruz was born. His mother was an American citizen.

That, however, doesn’t mean he isn’t a “natural-born citizen,” according to a bipartisan article in the Law Review published by a former Bush and a former Obama law official."

The national debt must be addressed

The national debt must be addressed - Watchdog.org:
"...The federal budget is currently at $4 trillion, and although deficits have recently been smaller, spending continues to accelerate whether it is on entitlement programs or general government spending.
The unfunded obligations of entitlement programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid play a major part in driving the debt crisis.
These entitlements will cost trillions if not reformed:
Three major budget categories — major health care programs, Social Security, and interest on the debt — will account for 85 percent of nominal spending growth over the next decade.

Islamic Suicide Bomber Trainer Accidentally Blows Up His Entire Class

Islamic Suicide Bomber Trainer Accidentally Blows Up His Entire Class - VIDEO:
"In Baghdad, a terrorist who was in the middle of conducting a training for future militants, accidentally blew up an entire class, killing 21 of his students, and himself.
The group was part of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, the terror group that has been participating in a string of attacks in the United States.
The report stated that the incident may be viewed as a metaphor for the many lives lost in the wake of foreign and domestic terrorists’ relentless attempts to convert the nation into an extreme-religious state.
...According to recent reports, it was rumored that the instructor was in the process of showing his students how to use a suicide belt.
As he was teaching, the live suicide belt actually detonated, resulting in mass fatalities."

This odd obsession which distorts how Israel is viewed

This odd obsession which distorts how Israel is viewed | The Jewish Chronicle:
"In his book Science of Logic, the German philosopher Friedrich Hegel examines the transition from quantity to quality - that is to say, the moment when a gradual quantitative process brings about a significant qualitative change.
The terms "quantity" and "quality" are central to understanding the effect that media coverage of Israel is having on how the country is perceived.
Let's take the Guardian for example: the paper's homepage for Middle East and North Africa (presumably covering more than 30 countries) usually contains approximately 13-15 news items.
On Feb 25-26, six of these items reported on Israel or Gaza, while three out of the seven photographs on the homepage illustrated these items.
...If the reader were interested in the alleged victim of the war Israel wants to start, he need not despair.
Iran does appears on the homepage - the country currently under Security Council-mandated sanctions for developing nuclear weapons, which hangs gays from cranes and jails bloggers, and sponsors countless terror groups, is represented with a touristic photo tour of a historic Tehran neighbourhood.
...But maybe the wider point here is not the bias or skewed reporting, but the simple, sheer volume of coverage.
When over a third of the news out of the Middle East (not exactly an uneventful region) on an influential website consists of coverage of Israel, is it not time we understood that an intentional choice is being made, to dictate what we should know, think and feel about the Middle East?

How should we regard this selective coverage?
Medical science has a name for "a compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion" - it's called obsession.

Read the Scathing Letter an Iranian Prisoner of Conscience Reportedly Wrote Barack Obama | Video | TheBlaze.com:

"A self-described Iranian prisoner of conscience recently wrote a letter to President Barack Obama excoriating the president for negotiating with a regime that is slaughtering its own people. Glenn Beck received a copy of the letter from Manda Zand Ervin, the founder and director of the Alliance of Iranian Women, and read it on his radio program Thursday.

“The Islamic clerics have taken our nation hostage to their fanatical Islamic tyranny,” Heshmatollah Tabarzadi wrote the president. “In 2009 when the people of Iran loudly and clearly asked for your support for their freedom and sovereignty, you ignored us and you empowered the tyrants to imprison, torture, and kill us.”

Immigrant advocacy groups protest citizen verification bill

Immigrant advocacy groups protest citizen verification bill - Watchdog.org:
"Philadelphia immigration advocacy groups are trying to bend the ear of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf.
Members of Juntos and Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition say they oppose a measure passed by the state Senate that would require proof of citizenship in order to receive public benefits.
I.D. REQUIRED: A reintroduced bill requiring proof of citizenship in order to receive public benefits has passed by the Pennsylvania Senate and is headed to the House.
Sen. Pat Stefano (R-Westmoreland) reintroduced the legislation that was formerly introduced in 2009.
It would deny public benefits, such as Medicaid, welfare and unemployment compensation to illegal immigrants living in Pennsylvania.
...The Federation for Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates the current local annual costs of illegal immigration amount to about $36 billion nationwide,” Stefano said.
“In Pennsylvania, which has nearly 200,000 illegal immigrants, the current estimated cost is $285 million.
That cost is expected to grow $812 million by the year 2020.
...The measure, they said, goes too far in asking for citizenship verification and immigration status for anyone seeking food, housing or other public benefits, and make it illegal for non-citizens to possess a food stamp card.

Virulently Anti-American: 81 Percent Of Russians Now View The United States Negatively

Virulently Anti-American: 81 Percent Of Russians Now View The United States Negatively | The Daily Sheeple:
"Russians view the United States much more unfavorably today than they did during the end of the Cold War era.
As you will read about below, an astounding 81 percent of all Russians now view the United States negatively, and only 13 percent have a positive opinion of this country.
In all of the years when Russians have been surveyed on their attitudes toward the U.S., they have never been this negative.
But of course Americans generally do not view the Russian people unfavorably.
So why is this happening?
Well, it all comes down to the actions of the Obama administration.  "

They're broke...AGAIN?!!!----L.C. Walker Arena financial concerns prompt talks about needed changes and hockey's future

L.C. Walker Arena financial concerns prompt talks about needed changes and hockey's future | MLive.com:
MUSKEGON, MI -- Facing financial pressures needing immediate attention, L.C. Walker Arena's owners and managers are seeking ways to increase use of the downtown asset that reportedly needs more than $1 million in repairs and improvements.
Essentially, there is a trio of financial concerns surrounding the arena:
  • Officials with the financially-strained city of Muskegon are anxious to get out from under the $180,000 utilities subsidy it has been paying annually for the arena.
  • The management group, which shares the same owner as the Lumberjacks, is unhappy with the annual $235,000 management fee it receives.
  • The arena has substantial infrastructure needs totaling $1.3 million that include roof repairs, a new boiler and new Zambonis.
At the end of this year, the city will assume true ownership of the arena that technically has been held by Muskegon County since the county sold bonds in 1996 to pay for arena improvements. Voters county-wide agreed in 1995 to fund the improvements, worth $8.5 million.

Regime's Iran Deal Can Reshape World - The Rush Limbaugh Show:

"We have to talk about this Iranian nuclear deal.  I know it's not sexy and I know that it's kind of over there.  But we need to bring it back here, 'cause it's not good.  It's like everything else happening with this Regime.  It just isn't good.  We're not just transforming America, we are transforming the world, and we are reordering America's position in the world.  We are a country that has been placed into a state of decline on purpose.

The main objective of this Regime is to manage that decline while trying to convince a bunch of low-information clowns that we're not in decline, and they are succeeding."
