LIBERTY REVIEW

LIBERTY REVIEW:

http://libertyreview76.blogspot.com/2015/07/dear-mr.html

Dear Mr. Franklin

By Tammy Derouin

When asked at the closing of the Constitutional Convention, “what have we got – a Republic or a Monarchy?” Benjamin Franklin stated, “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

My daughters were away when we lost the last branch of government.  Upon seeing them, my hugs were a little bit tighter than usual.  My oldest knew something was wrong but I couldn’t tell her at that moment.

How do I tell them that our nation is collapsing?  How do I explain that in addition to the legislature complying with the wishes of the executive branch, the judicial branch has fallen as well?  How do I explain that the American people allowed freedom to slip away? How do I explain our nation has fundamentally changed?

I began to write as if I were updating Benjamin Franklin on the state of our nation.

Dear Mr. Franklin....

How they "think"-----Far Left Muslim sympathizers at Huffington Post wonder: “Is America is becoming more Islamophobic?”

Far Left Muslim sympathizers at Huffington Post wonder: “Is America is becoming more Islamophobic?” | BARE NAKED ISLAM:
"First of all, there is no such thing as ‘Islamophobia.’
Fear, distrust, and suspicion about Islam, and the supremacist behavior of its followers, not only is entirely rational, it is basic to ensuring the survival of Western culture, freedom, and justice.
hqdefault-vi1In light of that, Americans ARE becoming more anti-Islam, as they witness repeated attempts by Muslims in America to impose sharia law, demanding and getting special accommodation for their religious needs, conspiring, with the help of wealthy Arab donors, to facilitate the teaching of Islam in public schools, not to mention the surge in threats from Muslim terrorists in America and the near daily atrocities committed by Muslim terrorist groups all around the world.
In August 2010, the cover of Time asked “Is America Islamophobic?
Bobby Ghosh wrote the featured article in response to the intense and at times ugly debate surrounding the proposed “Ground zero Victory Mosque” aka Islamic Center in Lower Manhattan that engulfed the nation that summer. "

Cowards-----Park service removes Confederate flags from Fort Sumter

Park service removes Confederate flags from Fort Sumter - Live5News.com | Charleston, SC | News, Weather, Sports:
"CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -The Confederate flag is no longer flying over Fort Sumter.
The National Park Service said the flag, along with other historic replicas, was taken down last week in the wake of the Charleston church shooting when Gov. Nikki Haley ordered the American flag lowered to half-staff.
Officials with Fort Sumter say the flag will not be going back up.
They also say they have decided to remove Confederate flag items from the fort's gift shop.
The Fort Sumter National Monument Park also includes Fort Moultrie and the Charles Pinckney National historic site.
Confederate forces fired on the Union-held fort on April 12, 1861, the moment that served as the start of the American Civil War.
Fort Sumter surrendered 34 hours after the first shots, according to the National Park Service."

Ulithi, the biggest and most active naval base in the world...

Warbird Information Exchange • View topic - ULITHI ...:
Its existence kept secret throughout the war, the US naval base at Ulithi was for a time the world’s largest naval facility.
In March 1945, 15 battleships, 29 carriers, 23 cruisers, 106 destroyers, and a train of oilers and supply ships sailed from "a Pacific base."
What was this base?
The mightiest force of naval Power ever assembled must have required a tremendous supporting establishment.
Ulithi, the biggest and most active naval base in the world was indeed tremendous but it was unknown.
Few civilians had heard of it at all. By the time security released the name, the remarkable base of Ulithi was a ghost.
The war had moved on to the Japanese homeland, and the press was not printing ancient history about Ulithi...

Control the conversation!-----Leftists are fond of outrage.

Leftists are fond of outrage. Let me restate... - Breitbart - One Voice Silenced, Millions Awakened: "Leftists are fond of outrage.
Let me restate that:
The LOVE outrage, recruiting their jack-booted mob into action at the merest slight.
Unfortunately, it works very effectively.
American companies have all-too-willingly jumped into lockstep, as evidenced by the stampede who reactively removed any and all images of the Confederate flag lest they be labeled bigots.
Amazon.com is one such company taking the moral high ground.
But it’s phony — no, worse than that — it’s dishonest.
I found through a bit of searching that they have no such discomfort selling dozens upon dozens of Nazi paraphernalia from rings, necklaces, wall hangings, key chains, shirts and even a tablet cover! Hell, you can even order an ISIS flag to proudly hang in your front yard.
Our friends at Breitbart - One Voice Silenced, Millions Awakened have assembled a few other shirts with images that any decent person should find objectionable. Satan makes the cut, as does Islamic terrorists and some of the most vicious mass-murderers in human history.
This is the face of hypocrisy. This is today's American Left. Intro from FlyoverCulture.com"

Not good!-----In test dogfight, F-35 gets waxed by F-16

Report: In test dogfight, F-35 gets waxed by F-16 | Ars Technica:
"A test pilot report obtained by defense journalist David Axe of War is Boring detailed the performance of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter in a mock air battle against a two-seat F-16D in January. The F-16D—based on a design developed 40 years ago and from a production run in the mid-1990s—bested the F-35 in close-range combat maneuvers.
In the report, which Axe had obtained but did not publish in full, the F-35 pilot reported that his aircraft was in a "clean" configuration for the test, carrying nothing under its wings or in its internal weapons bays.
The F-16, on the other hand, was flying with under-wing external fuel drop-tanks, which in theory would have put the aircraft at an aerodynamic disadvantage.
Apparently, it didn't.
"Even with the limited F-16 target configuration, the F-35A remained at a distinct energy disadvantage for every engagement," the F-35 pilot reported.
That means the F-35 constantly found itself flying slower and more sluggishly, unable to effectively maneuver to get the F-16 in its sights.
Furthermore, the F-35's high-tech helmet, which is supposed to give the pilot the ability to essentially "see through" the plane with the assistance of external cameras and sensors, didn't help matters.
"The helmet was too large for the space inside the canopy to adequately see behind the aircraft," the pilot reported, which made it impossible to keep visual contact with the F-16 during the dogfight..."

Ren Cen 4 Loss 'Is Not a Good Sign of the City's Health'

Update: Ren Cen 4 Loss 'Is Not a Good Sign of the City's Health' -- Stephen Henderson –  Deadline Detroit:
Prominent journalist Stephen Henderson is among Detroiters disappointed by news that the Ren Cen 4 movie theater shuts tonight, as Crain's reports.
Stephen Henderson: "This is the kind of stuff that makes middle-class families say hell no to living in Detroit."
The Free Press editorial page editor, who also hosts "Detroit Today" on WDET, reacts as a parent, a civic booster and a movie fan.
He agrees to let us repost this comment from his Faceboom page, where he links to Natalie Broda's article at the business publication:
We talk a lot about whether Detroit is "coming back" or not, but rarely does stuff like this enter the conversation.
If you live here, and especially if you're raising kids here, basic quality of life issues remain really confounding.
And I'll say it: This is the kind of stuff that makes middle-class families say hell no to living in Detroit. Yes, it's just a movie theater.
And it's far from the most important economic development in the city's core, let alone in desperately un-serviced neighborhoods..."

Mike Rowe Is Asked for His ‘Feelings’ on the Confederate Flag — Read His Brutally Honest Two-Part Response | TheBlaze.com:

"I think we need to be very careful about congratulating ourselves too enthusiastically for removing a piece of cloth from the public square – even if it’s removal is long overdue. I also think we need to stop calling people racist, just because they see the flag as something other than a symbol of hate. This is what happens when we put a premium on our feelings. We assume everyone who disagrees with us is not merely wrong, but dangerous."

Pay to play-----USDA Approves Chobani Greek Yogurt as Meat Alternative in Public Schools

USDA Approves Chobani Greek Yogurt as Meat Alternative in Public Schools | The Daily Meal:
"In a bid to bring Greek yogurt to schools across the country, the USDA has selected Chobani for the job.
Starting this fall, Chobani Greek yogurt will be available in public schools nationwide, and will serve as a protein alternative for students in K-12 public schools.
...USDA’s April announcement that Greek yogurt will become a permanent part of the nationwide school lunch program.
"Most kids are only getting half of the recommended amount of dairy they need each day, so they’re missing out on getting the protein, calcium, and other nutrients they need for their health,” said  Dr. Robert Post, senior director of nutrition and regulatory affairs at Chobani.
“Greek yogurt is a great way to make sure that kids meet their nutritional needs, and Chobani’s participation in the first nationwide USDA school lunch program with yogurt allows us to help address this public health concern."

Campus Reform Video: Hillary's Houses Shock Millennials - The Rush Limbaugh Show:
"...They set up an easel with a big poster board on it.
On the poster board were four or five mansions, pictures of huge homes, aerial pictures like you would find in a real estate website.
The price of each mansion was clearly marked beneath each picture, and they asked random people walking by who they thought owned those houses.
They told them that the people who owned them were in politics,
I think a presidential candidate.
"Which presidential candidate lives in these houses?""

Illegals tell US what their demands are?-----Transgender Women Can Now Be Housed In Women's Facilities Under New Immigration Rules

Transgender Women Can Now Be Housed In Women's Facilities Under New Immigration Rules - BuzzFeed News:
"U.S. immigration officials on Monday announced that transgender detainees will now be able to be housed with the population that matches their own gender identity, a move aimed at better protecting a population more vulnerable to sex abuse while in detention.

...Andrew Lorenzen-Strait, the deputy assistant director for custody programs for ICE, said the guidelines give the agency’s employees the tools and resources to properly house, care, and protect transgender detainees.
“We want to give transgender detainees the chance to say
‘Hey I’m trans and this is my gender expression,
I want you to take that into account,” Lorenzen-Strait told BuzzFeed News.
Lorenzen-Strait, who will be the National LGBTI coordinator overseeing the changes, said ICE spent six months developing the guidelines and spoke with trans detainees at length about them.
He believes there are up to 75 transgender people in ICE custody, but the figure can’t be confirmed because the agency didn’t keep track of all trans detainees."

The Statement That Beck Fears May Make Him ‘An Exile in [His] Own Land’ | Video | TheBlaze.com

The Statement That Beck Fears May Make Him ‘An Exile in [His] Own Land’ | Video | TheBlaze.com:

"Echoing an article in Time that ran after the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples have the right to get married anywhere in the United States, Glenn Beck on Monday said he fears his belief in absolute truth could make him “an exile in [his] own land.”

“The world has changed,” Beck said on his radio program. “I told you at one point, ‘You won’t recognize your own country.’ We are here. You are now on the outside looking in.”

Beck said “who you sleep with” has nothing to do with his concern. Rather, what he fears is that Americans’ right to live according to their religious beliefs will be threatened."

WORKER’S PARADISE. Cuba has ice cream.
They have a chronic shortage of ice cream, but they do have some ice cream.
A couple of non-gullible journalists went down there with a video camera and recorded the state-run ice cream parlor.
The line on a Sunday was two hours long.
Only one flavor—strawberry—was available.
It costs a little more than two dollars for a scoop.
That’s more than ten percent of Cuba’s state-imposed Maximum Wage of twenty dollars a month.
Such is life when the dictator insists on “socialism or death.”
