Rep. Jim Jordan Goes After Hillary: ‘Where’d the False Narrative Start? It Started With You’ | Mediaite

Rep. Jim Jordan Goes After Hillary: ‘Where’d the False Narrative Start? It Started With You’ | Mediaite

Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan took issue with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton‘s comment that protests had erupted in both Cairo, Egypt and Benghazi, Libya, citing evidence from the House Select Committee’s investigation stating that no protest of any kind had occurred in Benghazi. He then went on to quote from various State Department spokespersons who, in the weeks following the Sept. 11, 2012 attack, claimed that the incident in Benghazi was linked to the Cairo-based protest, which was a reaction to an offensive online video.

“Where’d the false narrative start? It started with you, Madame Secretary,” said Jordan, adding that a statement released by Clinton the night of the attack suggests as much. “At 10:08, with no evidence. At 10:08, before the attack is over. At 10:08, when Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty are still on the roof of the annex fighting for their lives, the official statement of the State Department blames a video. Why?”

Clinton proceeded to emphasize her official statement’s use of the phrase “some have sought,” which described the efforts of a small group to use the video as a means of inciting anti-American sentiments in Egypt, Libya and elsewhere in the region. “I used those words deliberately. Not to ascribe a motive to every attacker, but as a warning to those across the region that there was no justification for further attacks.”

However, Jordan just couldn’t let the discrepancy go, citing additional emails and calls made to the Libyan president, the Egyptian prime minister and her own family. In all three messages, Clinton said that the State Department knew that “the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack — not a protest.”

When Clinton again reference her statement’s language, Jordan erupted.

“Calling it an attack is like saying the sky is blue. Of course it was an attack! We want to know the truth. The statement you sent out was a statement on Benghazi, and you say ‘vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material on the Internet.’ If that’s not pointing at its motive being the video, I don’t know what is. And that’s certainly how the American people saw it.”"

Has the first person who'll live to 1,000 already been born? | Daily Mail Online

Professor Rudi Westendorp has predicted the first person to live to 135 has been born, but other scientists have gone further and declared that we have already seen the birth of the first person who will live to 1,000

That's what some experts believe. And a new book by a top professor reveals there's good news for the rest of us  Professor Rudi Westendorp has predicted the first person to live to 135 has been born, but other scientists have gone further and declared that we have already seen the birth of the first person who will live to 1,000

Some years ago, I had a heated telephone conversation with my mother. After I had argued her into a corner, she played what she obviously thought was her trump card.

‘I’m 74 years old!’ she snapped, implying that this somehow made her wiser than me and that I should just shut up.

I replied with a trump card of my own, telling her that reaching 74 was nothing special.

That didn’t go down well, but she could hardly question my expertise on this subject. As a professor of geriatrics, I have devoted my career to a study of ageing and the extraordinary growth in human life expectancy over the past century or so.

Never before have so many people in the developed world lived for so long — thanks to the enormous changes we have made to our environment, including sufficient food for everyone, clean drinking water and the eradication of many infectious diseases.

The result is that average life expectancy has doubled from 40 to 80 years since 1900, and the proportion of people who reach the age of 65 has increased three-fold, from 30 pc to 90 pc.

In 1997, the world marvelled when a Frenchwoman named Jeanne Calment died at the age of 122, making her the longest-surviving person in recorded history.

But there is little doubt that some babies born today can expect to live even longer. Five years after Madame Calment’s death, the academic journal Science showed that the average life expectancy at birth in developed countries is rising by two to three years every 10 calendar years."

Sumner Redstone Shows Yet Another Ex-Girlfriend to the Door | Vanity Fair

Sumner Redstone Shows Yet Another Ex-Girlfriend to the Door | Vanity Fair:

Last month, the aging media mogul bid adieu to longtime girlfriend Sydney Holland. Now comes word that he’s parted ways with Manuela Herzer, an ex who remained in the picture. William D. Cohan reports on further tumult in the House of Redstone.

Some six weeks after Sumner Redstone, the 92-year-old billionaire who controls Hollywood media powerhouses Viacom and CBS, tossed Sydney Holland, 44, his live-in girlfriend of four years, out of his Beverly Park mansion, the other shoe has dropped.
Sources tell Vanity Fair that on October 12 Redstone also banished Manuela Herzer, 51, his ex-flame, who seemed to have enjoyed an entente cordiale with Holland in caring for and entertaining the billionaire. Herzer dated Redstone during the 1990s and refused an offer of marriage from him, but they remained close friends. Today, she lives a few miles away from his mansion, and, some say, she had taken control of his day-to-day operations, including managing the dozen or so people employed there, many of whom were handling his round-the-clock health care.
That changed abruptly last week. “All of a sudden on Monday there were a bunch of lawyers and house staff standing around, and she walked back in the house and it was communicated to her that Sumner doesn’t want her there anymore,” says someone familiar with what happened that day. “Now whether that’s truly Sumner’s wishes remains to be determined . . . There are lawyers swarming all around.” This person says Herzer’s “primary concern” is for Redstone’s health care. “Right now the big issue is who is looking after Sumner, and that’s a real serious issue,” the source continues. “She doesn’t know why she’s not there anymore, and there’s no one around. No family. Nobody responsible. There’s a driver and a nurse supposedly running the show.”

The amount of taxpayer funding that has gone toward the investigation into the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, is less than the amount the federal government has invested in “Origami condoms” and studies on why lesbians are obese.
Democrats are very concerned that the Select Committee on Benghazi is wasting taxpayer dollars. Leading Senate Democrats, including Minority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.), are demanding that the RNC reimburse the government for the cost of the investigation.
Rep. Linda Sanchez (D., Calif.) said it was a “gross misuse” of millions in taxpayer dollars. Ranking Member of the Benghazi committee Elijah Cummings (D., Md.) began his opening statement during the hearing with Hillary Clinton on Thursday saying, “Republicans are squandering millions

The real loser of the Benghazi hearings? America

The puerile fireworks notwithstanding, the loudest noise coming from the Benghazi hearing was a low hiss. It was the sound of air coming out of the Republican balloon.
Yes, Hillary Clinton faced tough questions and had no good answers for them. But those questions have been asked and unanswered for more than three years.
Why was the US in Libya, why were security requests denied, why was the military not ready to respond on the 11th anniversary of 9/11, and why did the Obama administration falsely claim the terror attack was a spontaneous response to an anti-Muslim video?
“These questions linger because previous investigations were not thorough,” committee chairman Trey Gowdy said in his opening statement.
At the end of a very long day, they still linger, for Gowdy’s probe failed to answer them. If he’s surprised, he’s alone.

My Way News - Mexico braces for strongest hurricane in Western hemisphere

MANZANILLO, Mexico (AP) — Residents of a stretch of Mexico's Pacific Coast dotted with resorts and fishing villages boarded up homes and bought supplies ahead of Friday's arrival of Hurricane Patricia, a monster Category 5 storm that forecasters say is the strongest ever recorded in the Western hemisphere.
With maximum sustained winds near 200 mph (325 kph), Patricia is the strongest storm ever recorded in the eastern Pacific or in the Atlantic, said Dave Roberts, a hurricane specialist at the U.S. National Hurricane Center.
Patricia's power was comparable to that of Typhoon Haiyan, which left more than 7,300 dead or missing in the Philippines two years ago, according to the U.N.'s World Meteorological Organization.
In Mexico, officials declared a state of emergency in dozens of municipalities in Colima, Nayarit and Jalisco states that contain the bustling port of Manzanillo and the posh resort of Puerto Vallarta. The governor of Colima ordered schools closed on Friday, when the storm was forecast to make what the Hurricane Center called a "potentially catastrophic landfall."

Plans by U.S. to capture Islamic State’s capital already go awry - The Washington Post:

In this abandoned desert town on the front line of the war against the Islamic State in Raqqa, local fighters are fired up by announcements in Washington that the militants’ self-proclaimed capital is to be the next focus of the war.
But there is still no sign of the help the United States has delivered ostensibly for the use of the Arab groups fighting the Islamic State, nor is there any indication it will imminently arrive, calling into question whether there can be an offensive to capture Raqqa anytime soon.

'Confidential' Planned Parenthood video leaked - POLITICO

'Confidential' Planned Parenthood video leaked - POLITICO:

Planned Parenthood is pictured.

Complete raw footage from the Planned Parenthood videos surfaced Thursday on the conservative website Got News?, whose editor said he had gotten it from a House staffer despite lawmakers’ pledge to keep it confidential.
Editor Charles Johnson released the full footage Thursday even after the National Abortion Federation got a temporary restraining order a day earlier prohibiting any dissemination. Johnson vowed to "contest any unconstitutional prior restraint of speech."
The abortion providers group had gone to court after Johnson’s website put part of the video online earlier this week.
An anti-abortion group called the Center for Medical Progress — which had released the series of videos over the summer depicting Planned Parenthood profiting from fetal tissue donation — had previously provided the full video under subpoena to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Johnson told POLITICO in an email that he obtained the raw tapes from a high-ranking congressional staffer "who felt morally compelled to have them released.”

BOMBSHELL: Sick Move Obama Made WHILE Benghazi Staff Waited to Be Rescued Just Got Exposed:

"According to Tuesday news release by Judicial Watch, the documents that uncovered this latest Benghazi scandal were discovered from a Freedom of Information Act request filed last year seeking “‘any and all logs, reports, or other records’ the Washington-based Diplomatic Security Command Center produced between Sept. 10, 2012, and Sept. 13, 2012, relating to the terrorist attack.”

The documents proved that before the attack had even finished, the White House was on the phone with YouTube to try to bolster its pet theory about an Internet video sparking the attack, even though it was clear from the beginning that it was a planned terrorist strike."

Gowdy Grills Hillary Over Blumenthal Influence on Libya Policy | The Weekly Standard

Gowdy Grills Hillary Over Blumenthal Influence on Libya Policy | The Weekly Standard:

Trey Gowdy, the Republican chairman of the House's select committee investigating the Benghazi attacks, spent several minutes at Thursday's hearing questioning former secretary of state Hillary Clinton over the unusual advisory relationship she had with an old friend who had business interests iin Libya.
Gowdy's line of questioning, which built on questions from previous Republican members of the committee, explored Clinton's email exchanges with Sidney Blumenthal, a longtime Clinton friend who was blocked from taking a job at the State Department by Barack Obama. Blumenthal had been passing along information about Libya to Clinton on her personal email address.
In her testimony, Clinton claimed that the advice from Blumenthal was "unsolicited" but later said that the missives were only unsolicited in the beginning of their exchange.

CIA Director John Brennan © Larry Downing

The whistleblower organization WikiLeaks has published a second set of documents obtained from CIA Director John Brennan’s personal email account.
The first set of documents published on Wednesday contained reports on Afghanistan and torture, and ideas for US policy towards Iran.
The new release contains Brennan's address book and a full version of 'Executive summary of key findings and recommendations on Afghanistan and Pakistan’, some pages of which were published on Wednesday by Anonymous.
The November 2008 report compiled by a team of Senate analysts is accompanied by a memo from Louis Tucker, the minority staff director for Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Christopher “Kit” Bond (R-Missouri).
“Everyone we spoke with on the ground in Afghanistan and Pakistan confessed that they know of no overall USG strategy for the region,” Tucker wrote. “Rather, we observed quality individuals serving judiciously in their own lanes ungoverned by a coordinated, comprehensive strategy.”
The US government would have to develop a “comprehensive regional strategy designed to meet a set of clearly defined goals,” Tucker’s memo concluded.
