Worth a full read. This is how your tax funded liberal NPR distorts their own shows!-----See How NPR Hacks Up Testy Interview with Ted Cruz

See How NPR Hacks Up Testy Interview with Ted Cruz:
NPR Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep is a big fan of President Obama, and when he interviews him, he helpfully sets him up. In a recent interview on race relations, Inskeep added little prompts instead of questions. That’s not what Ted Cruz received on Wednesday’s show. Inskeep was blunt when discussing the new Trump idea of banning Muslims from entering America:
STEVE INSKEEP: All this led to a bottom-line question when Senator Cruz visited our studios. [To Cruz] Which Muslims do you want to keep out of the United States?
TED CRUZ: Well, I'm not sure that's the way I would put the question. What I would say is what is the obligation of the president and commander in chief? And the first obligation is to keep this country safe.
NPR posted the full transcript online. What that demonstrated was that NPR and Inskeep routinely sliced out (for time and surely, for political convenience) Cruz whacking away at Democrats. Here’s the rest of Cruz’s answer to that, sliced at mid-sentence:
And the first obligation is to keep this country safe,  and so I've introduced legislation that would suspend for three years refugees from countries where ISIS or al-Qaida control a substantial amount of territory. And the reason is simple. The FBI has told Congress that the Obama administration cannot vet these refugees.
Then Inskeep brought in the rest of the answer:
INSKEEP: The Texas senator wore a white shirt and orange tie. He was on his way to work in Washington. Cruz introduced legislation after the recent attacks in Paris. His bill would make it even harder than it is for refugees to reach the U.S. from five war-torn countries. Cruz says the few exceptions would include non-Muslims who are persecuted.
CRUZ: President Obama and Hillary Clinton's plan to bring tens of thousands of Syrian refugees to America when the FBI says they cannot ascertain if these refugees are ISIS terrorists or not - that makes no sense.
For us, this brings to mind the way Cruz had his interview sliced and diced by CBS's Face the Nation in January of 2014. Just to illustrate how much NPR cut out of Cruz’s remarks, the remarks that were cut out of the broadcast are in bold. Notice the taxpayer-funded network slices in and out of Cruz's sentences to construct it just the way they like it:
INSKEEP: I've had a look at your legislation. It specifies some countries — Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, other countries could be added by the government over time. But I have to note, you're looking at refugees, not broadly people entering the United States, including by easier paths. You're not bringing up Pakistan, which is where one of the San Bernardino attackers came from. You're not bringing up Brussels, which is where some of the Paris attackers came from. Why not?
CRUZ: There is no doubt that we need broader reforms. And, in fact, talking about Brussels and Europe, one of the real challenges is the visa waiver program. And unfortunately if you look at Europe, the problem of terrorism is definitely growing there because of many of these waves of refugees that've flowed into Europe.
But the immediate threat we have is ISIS. The Islamic state has declared jihad on America. They have declared their intention to commit acts of terror like they did in Paris, like occurred in San Bernardino, and they've made clear that they intend to use the refugee program to do that.
And so there is a very simple question that, as far as I'm concerned, the president ought to be asked every time he is asked a question, which is: Why would you bring people in when the FBI tells you they cannot vet them to determine whether or not they're terrorists?
INSKEEP: But can't someone ask you, why would you focus on refugees who tend to be fleeing a situation, and leave alone, at least for the moment, all these other routes, and all other kinds of people who — who actually have proven in a few cases to be dangerous?
CRUZ: Because if you look at, for example, the Paris terrorists, we know that at least one of them came in among the refugees. This is — this is an influx of population where the FBI says they lack the information to ascertain if they're terrorists. What James Comey — and, by the way, James Comey, the head of the FBI, was appointed by Barack Obama. What he told Congress is the FBI lacks the information on who in Syria is involved with Syria, who's involved with the jihadists.
And so as he put it, he said, "We can query the database till the cows come home; we'll get no results because we don't have the underlying information to check them." If you look, for example — you're right. Look, do we need to impose stronger background checks and security checks on immigration more generally in an age of terror? Absolutely. If you look at the wife among the San Bernardino terrorists, she came on a fiancee visa.
The background check vetting for fiancee visas is essentially identical to what President Obama and Hillary Clinton say they want to put on these Syrian refugees. Now, the problem is, look — she put a made-up address, a fictional home address, and yet the background check of the vetting didn't, didn't catch that. And given — given the widespread lethality of radical Islamic terrorism, we need to be serious responding to it.
And the problem, Steve — this president doesn't even acknowledge the problem exists, much less put in place serious policies to deal with it.
NPR didn't keep the part where Cruz talked about the persecution and killing of Christans and Yazidis. It was all sliced out:
INSKEEP: You — you've made an exception for people from those countries who may be victims of genocide, which has been interpreted as people who may be Christian or non-Muslim. Are you actually imposing a religious test here?
CRUZ: Well, it is true the legislation I've introduced has an exception for those who are victims of genocide, those who are religious minorities. Christians could fall into that category; Yazidis could fall into that category.
Now, I would note, the notion of a religious test, our immigration law for decades has included provisions focusing on religious persecution. We have always had a religious test. And what is happening to the Christians by ISIS is qualitatively different. They are facing genocide in that ISIS is attempting to exterminate the Middle Eastern Christians in a way that is qualitatively different from other people.
There are many refugees there that are fleeing war conditions, that are fleeing poverty, that are fleeing chaos. But genocide is something we have always recognized as qualitatively different, when a particular religious minority is being persecuted and being murdered the way Christians are being crucified, beheaded, raped and murdered by ISIS.
NPR's not big on talking about Christians being crucified, beheaded, and raped. Instead, they skipped ahead to speaking up for the Muslims (and speaking up for Obama when charged with being soft on Islamic terror). This is where NPR really gets out the hacksaw and slices Cruz's speech into little pieces:
INSKEEP: Is there a bigger cultural concern that you're actually speaking to on some level here, Senator — the concern among some in America that there are just too many Muslims coming and that they are culturally inappropriate for the United States?
CRUZ: Look, I can't speak for what concerns you might have or others have. My concern is keeping America safe. And we need a commander in chief whose single-minded focus is protecting this nation.
You know, President Obama, when he addressed the nation, he gave a speech that was so utterly disconnected from the threats facing this country. He gave a speech in which he never once uttered the words "radical Islamic terrorism." Now, why is that? Because he never utters the word. It is a policy throughout the administration that you cannot acknowledge the evil we face. And in fact —
INSKEEP: He did talk about terrorism, if I might, and talked about extreme beliefs among, among Muslims —
CRUZ: But — but this is important. Yes, he talks about terrorism writ large, but he doesn't acknowledge radical Islamic terrorism. It is a particular threat. And he treats it — indeed, I was at the prayer breakfast where the, the National Prayer Breakfast when it was right after, you'll recall, the Jordanian pilot had been lit on fire. The king of Jordan was supposed to be at the prayer breakfast. He flew back to Jordan to deal with the aftermath of that act of terror.
And President Obama got up and gave a remarkable speech where he served as an apologist for radical Islamic terrorists. Now, what does it mean to be an apologist? Because those are strong words. An apologist is someone that gives a rationalization, gives a justification, that steps forward and tries to explain in a reasonable way the conduct of others.
What President Obama says is, "Yes, ISIS are committing terrorist acts." But at the prayer breakfast, he said, "You know what? Christians and Jews have done bad things, too; look at the Crusades; look at the Inquisition."
INSKEEP: Isn't he just trying to make sure that he's not singling out Muslims who may be loyal Americans?
CRUZ: Baloney. Last I checked, the Crusades and Inquisitions ended hundreds of years ago. I don't think it's too much to be asking for the president to stay in the current millennium. And here's the problem. That argument is exactly the argument ISIS uses. They justify their acts of terror based on the Crusades and Inquisition. If the Crusades and Inquisition were happening now, I would readily speak out against them. They were wrong.
This is perhaps the most ridiculous edit, making sure Cruz can't mock Obama for using incredibly outdated mockery of Christianity. All of this explanation of radical Islam was thrown out:
But thankfully they are not, and we need a president who can distinguish — you know, I have a book that I wrote this summer that you and I have talked about before. It's called A Time for Truth.
INSKEEP: Right. Yeah.
CRUZ: In that book, I quote Egypt's president, President al-Sisi, who, in a remarkable speech that he gave on January 1st of this year at Cairo University — in that speech, President al-Sisi calls out radical Islamic terrorism, calls out the grave threat, and calls on the Muslim world to rise up against radical Islamic terrorism.
Now, for President al-Sisi to do that — he is a Muslim leader of one of the largest Muslim nations in the world — for him to do that, that was courageous. He was literally putting a bounty on his head for the Islamists who will try to murder him for calling it out. And as I observe in the book, A Time for Truth, what does it say when the president of Egypt shows more courage, more clarity, more willingness to confront this evil threat than does the president of the United States? That's unfortunate.
Inskeep then came back to needle Senator Cruz that Donald Trump was "outbidding" him on the Muslims:
INSKEEP: Has Donald Trump effectively outbid you here, Senator? Because he's calling to block all Muslims from coming to the United States, which would eliminate any potential Muslim who might be a threat.
CRUZ: Well, I disagree with Donald on that. He — he is welcome to discuss his policy ideas. That — that is not my view of how we should approach it. My view is we should focus very directly on the threat, which is radical Islamic terrorism. And Islamism —
INSKEEP: So, you're fine if plenty of Muslims come by other routes other than what your legislation deals with? You're perfectly comfortable with that?
CRUZ: There are millions of peaceful Muslims in the world. There are millions of peaceful Muslims in America. This is not about the Islamic faith. It is about Islamism, which is a very different thing.
Islamism, you saw with the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, a belief — the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization. It funds jihadists across the world. And Islamism is a political and theological belief that the fanatics must bring an Islamic caliphate to this world, that they must forcibly convert or murder all of the infidels, being anyone that doesn't embrace their radical Islamic views, and that they must wage jihad against not just the little Satan, which is what they call Israel, but also the great Satan, which is what they call America. In all of that, they are very candid about saying it is their object to kill as many Americans as possible, and the president refuses to acknowledge this or to do anything serious to defend this.
This keeps on happening throughout the interview, but this is the worst of it. Everyone understands that a network like NPR isn't going to run a 30-minute interview (unless it was with Terry Gross on Fresh Air or The Diane Rehm Show, and both of those hosts would probably quit before they were pressed to have a talk with Ted Cruz). But the edits here look very opportunistic, and the questions are much harsher than President Obama receives -- or Bernie Sanders, to use a more recent example. It's merely the latest proof that NPR is a taxpayer-funded sandbox for liberals.

Democrats’ misleading claims about closing the no-fly list ‘loophole’

Democrats’ misleading claims about closing the no-fly list ‘loophole’ - The Washington Post:
Critics say tying a gun ban directly to names on the Terrorist Watchlist, and specifically the no-fly list, could violate Second Amendment rights because it’s unclear how people are added to the list, and whether they truly belong there.
The American Civil Liberties Union has sued the government over the no-fly list, on behalf of U.S. citizens and permanent residents who couldn’t fly because they were on the list without being told why they were on it, or being given a “reasonable opportunity to get off it.”
The Intercept in 2014 obtained the National Counterterrorism Center’s 2013 Watchlisting Guidance, which revealed the government was allowed to designate individuals as representatives of terror organizations “without any evidence they are actually connected to such organizations; it gives a single White House official the unilateral authority to place entire ‘categories’ of people the government is tracking onto the No Fly and selectee lists.”
“Not even death provides a guarantee of getting off the list,” the Intercept reported, and the process of getting off the watch list is “simple yet opaque...”

"Representative Stephen Lynch (D-Massachusetts) points up an appalling weakness in the Homeland Security Department that won’t be fixed by the firing of these 72 employees and the resignation of the director (which director he is referring to is unclear; the DHS Secretary certainly didn’t resign). The entire culture of the Department, and the Washington establishment, needs to be changed, such that there is not a remote possibility of people who are on a terrorist watchlist getting hired at DHS. But no adequate screening procedures are in place, because they would be “Islamophobic.”

Why Does Obama Call ISIS 'ISIL'?

Articles: Why Does Obama Call ISIS 'ISIL'?:
Many who closely follow the dueling Islamic terror narratives emanating from the White House are mystified by Mr. Obama's inability (or deliberate unwillingness) to utter the phrase "Islamic terrorists."
Many are curious, too, about why he refuses to call ISIS "ISIS," steadfastly insisting instead that everybody in his administration call the terror group "ISIL."
What's the difference, and why is it important?
The agendas behind each diverge widely.
In fact, the variance between the two is elephantine in scale.
ISIS stands for the "Islamic State in Iraq and Syria," a terror group controlling a large swath of both Iraq and Syria...
ISIL, Obama's preference, stands for the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant."
According to glaphyridae.com, "[t]he Levant in its geographical sense comprises the following political entities: the west part of Syria, Lebanon, west part of Jordan, Palestine (West Bank and Gaza Strip), Israel and Sinai (Egypt)."...
...That Obama uses ISIL in discussing the terrorists is extremely telling and chilling.
To those of us who keep our fingers on the pulse of Middle Eastern geopolitics, the distinctions separating ISIS and ISIL are by no means meager..."
...Taken together, all of this gets us closer to understanding why Obama refuses to call Islamic terrorists what they are.
His use of ISIL could be a strong indication that he supports re-establishing Muslim rule and sharia law throughout the Levant, and good riddance to Israel.
...Edward Klein, who authored The Amateur, a book about Obama, told the Daily Caller that he interviewed Wright (and has him quoted on tape), who told Klein that he (Wright) "made it comfortable" for Obama to accept Christianity without having to renounce his "Islamic background."
We believe it's time to stop whispering about what much of the nation is thinking, but we leave it up to you to decide why Obama calls ISIS ISIL, why he can't bring himself to call Islamic terrorists what they are, and why he acts in a manner that supports Islam over Christianity at every opportunity.

Europeans and Americans on the Rampage!!!

Europeans and Americans on the Rampage!!! :: SteynOnline:
"...Etc. So here we go again. A ninth attacker in the Paris bloodbath has been named:
A 23-year-old man from Strasbourg, eastern France, has been identified as the third attacker involved in the terrorist assault at the Bataclan music hall in Paris, police sources have said.
Foued Mohamed Aggad went to Syria with his brother and a group of friends at the end of 2013, according to a source close to the investigation. Most of the others were arrested in spring last year after returning to France but Aggad stayed on in Syria, the source said.
The news was further confirmation that the deadly Paris attacks were carried out largely, if not entirely, by Europeans trained by Isis in Syria.
Europeans, everywhere. I switched on Fox News in my hotel room this morning to catch Bill Hemmer saying that this means "Seven of the nine terrorists were European." As the Guardian report continues:
The latest information means that all of the assailants identified so far were French or Belgian, all native French speakers, and the attacks increasingly appear to have been part of a homegrown terror plot.
So "Europeans" are the principal security threat.
Along with "Americans" like "28-year-old California man Syed Farook".
This is why the public is not joining the media, the Democrats and the GOP establishment in getting the vapors over Donald Trump's comments about Muslim immigration.
The men pulling the triggers in Paris and San Bernardino are men with French, Belgian and US passports, but they are not "French", "Belgian" or "American" in any meaningful sense. They regard their primary identity as Muslim - and their citizenship as a mere travel document.
So it doesn't require a large leap to wonder whether Islam is, in fact, an issue.
Instead, media commentators are arguing that the fact that all these "28-year-old California men" and "23-year-old Strasbourg men" are going bananas demonstrates that there's nothing to fear from all these zillions of "Syrian" "refugees".
These "Syrians" are harmless.
The real loonies are all these "homegrown" Americans and Europeans.
Our cities would be a lot safer if we had more Syrians and fewer Americans and Europeans.
As I said to Sean Hannity on Monday night, one reason why Trump's "outrageous" remarks never dent his numbers a whit is because to significant numbers of people he sounds far less insane than the mainstream consensus - now insisting that all these psycho "American" and "European" terrorists demonstrate why we'd be much better off letting in millions of "refugees".
~The latest brain-dead euphemism is "radicalized". As in: Oh, did you hear about poor Mohammed? He became radicalized. Don't know how it happened. He went out for a stroll in the park, and somehow came back "radicalized"..."

In an interview with MSNBC, Dole said he doesn’t know how Trump has done so well:
“He says things over the top and people applaud.
And he’s insulted about everybody, every other candidate.”
And what about Cruz?
“Cruz is so extreme,” Dole said..
It should be noted that Dole has endorsed former Florida governor Jeb Bush.
Dole, a former Kansas senator, was particularly critical of Cruz.
The Texas senator has slammed losing Republican nominees — a group that includes Dole — for failing to sufficiently appeal to conservative voters
“He used to make these speeches, ‘Remember President Dole? Do you remember President (John) McCain?'” Dole said.
“The inference was that we were all a bunch of liberals, and only he is a true conservative.”
Dole said it might be difficult for him to vote for Cruz, should he become the Republican nominee.
“Well, I would … I might oversleep that day,” Dole said."

‘Hillary for prosecution, not president’:

“The project is an effort by WND and its dedicated investigative reporting team, private investigators, judicial watchdogs, state officials and attorneys who recognize it’s not enough just to document Clinton crimes, but to bring them to the attention of prosecutors who will bring them to justice before she can even accept the nomination of the Democratic Party for the presidency of the United States,” says Corsi. “We need help to hire the private investigators needed to prove that Bill and Hillary Clinton, along with a cadre of close associates, have used the Clinton Foundation to be a personal piggy bank, in complete disregard of state and federal laws that strictly prohibit what is known as ‘inurement,’ the crime of using a tax-exempt foundation to defraud charitable donors so their contributions can be diverted to personal use.”

Paul Albaugh: China Games the Climate Change Conference

Paul Albaugh: China Games the Climate Change Conference — The Patriot Post:
"After a week of climate change talks in Paris, there remains much uncertainty regarding the end result.
...Recall that the central focus on these talks is that both developed and developing nations must commit to reducing carbon emissions so that we can prevent the global temperature from increasing more than two degrees Celsius.
Without doing so, a parade of horribles awaits, they tell us. In the eyes of so many world “leaders,” this perceived threat remains more of a pressing concern than real threats.
...As Hot Air’s Bruce McQuain writes, “Lately the meme has been that ISIS is a result of climate change (even though, for the past 10 years, the climate hasn’t changed).
We’ve been treated to all sorts of theories masquerading as ‘proof’ that climate change is real.
We’ve watched the alarmists ignore contrary data and continue to tell their big lie.”
...According to the Heritage Foundation’s Nicolas Loris, we should be wary of China’s commitment to reduce emissions.
China remains the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gas emissions, and that isn’t going to change any time soon.
China is constructing 350 coal-fired power plants and has plans to build another 800.
As Loris notes, “This is the country that we’re going to trust to peak emissions 15 years from now?”
...The Wall Street Journal notes, “In 2013 China burned 3.9 billion tons of coal, almost as much as the rest of the world.”
Further, “Last week Beijing suffered several days of heavy pollution in which the most hazardous particulates in the air exceeded safe levels by 25 times.”
...As another Wall Street Journal Column observes, “Energy-intensive industries like manufacturing, chemicals, cement and pulp and paper will be particular victims and may decamp for overseas.
The President is trading away the competitive advantage of cheap U.S. natural gas for a bag of anticarbon promises.”
If the Paris talks accomplish anything, it won’t be reining in CO2 emissions.
But if the talks end up producing any results, it will be massive redistribution of wealth on a global scale.
Somebody will have to pay for these mandates and it won’t be China or India — or any other developing country for that matter.
The developed nations will be paying for it. Well played China, well played."

True Madness

By Tammy Derouin

The latest terrorist attack against Americans, on American soil, has stirred up many feelings.  Among them is a feeling of helplessness. I truly feel that good will conquer evil but I also feel it’s going to take some time.   We, as a nation, have chosen a dark and evil path to travel.  Any attempt to correct our mistakes will be met with much resistance.

A friend of mine sent me some wonderful clips of an amazing individual from a bygone era.  I would have never guessed that in less than 30 years, since the late, great, Ronald Reagan left the office of President of the United States, we would be on the verge of collapse.
Not only is our economy and security in crisis but so are our morals and values.  We have become a backwards thinking nation.  The government has turned on our true allies while insisting that we welcome our enemies into our homeland; true madness.

Do you remember when the United States was a great nation?  People wanted to come to America to become Americans. Today, people risk their lives to get to our shores for the opportunity to destroy our home, our freedoms and everything that once made us a great nation. They’ve been given a free pass by this administration to enter and destroy...

Students want building renamed because it honors a guy named ... 'Lynch' - The College Fix
"Just when you really thought the myriad college protests across the country couldn’t get any more daft, something comes along to prove you wrong.
In this case, it’s students at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania.
stupid.Chisel_Wright.flickrDemonstrators there recently insisted that school officials “remove or modify” the last name of one of the college’s past presidents as it appears on a campus building – the man’s name is Clyde A. Lynch – “due to the associated racial connotations.”
This is not a joke.
PennLive reports:
The demand was made at a forum on campus equality issues held Friday, capping a week of demonstrations calling for changes at the predominantly white institution.
But while their remaining demands — those seeking everything from a more diverse curriculum to facilities recognizing varied gender identities and disabilities — appeared warmly received at Friday’s forum, which was attended by Pennlive and a standing-room-only crowd of students and staff, a call to change the name of Lynch Memorial Hall has been decidedly more controversial, both at the school and beyond.
In the days that followed, commenters on pennlive.com leapt to defend Lynch, who served as the college’s president from 1932 to 1950 when he died in office, saying he’s been unfairly dragged into the fray by this modern-day movement.
In response, student activists who made the demand said they’d be willing to settle for adding his first name and middle initial to the building instead of removing it altogether. At Friday’s forum they acknowledged no known links between Dr. Clyde A. Lynch and the practice of “Lynching” but said as is, the building and last name harken back to a period in American history when Blacks were widely and arbitrarily killed by public hangings and “Lynch Mobs.”

President Lynch “led the college through the Great Depression and World War II, helping to raise $550,000 for a new physical education building which was named for him following his death,” according to the college website.
Just a few hours after its first report, PennLive devoted a new article to the public backlash this idiocy has created..."

Remember our heroes-----Medal of Honor - John R. Fox sacrificed himself by deliberately calling an artillery strike on his own position

2Medal of Honor - John R. Fox sacrificed himself by deliberately calling an artillery strike on his own position:
John Robert Fox (May 18, 1915–December 26, 1944) was an American soldier who was killed in action when he deliberately called for artillery fire on his own position, after his position was overrun, in order to defeat a German attack in the vicinity of Sommocolonia, northern Italy during World War II.
He posthumously received the Medal of Honor in 1997, for willingly sacrificing his life.
Fox was born in Cincinnati, Ohio May 18, 1915, and attended Wilberforce University, participating in ROTC under Aaron R. Fisher and graduating with a commission of second lieutenant in 1940.
He was 29 years old when he called artillery fire on his own position the day after Christmas in 1944, for which he was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross in 1982.
More than fifty years after his death, Fox was awarded the Medal of Honor.
He is buried in Colebrook Cemetery in Whitman, Massachusetts.
In the early 1990s it was determined that African-American soldiers had been denied consideration for the Medal of Honor solely due to their race.
After a review, seven African-American soldiers had their Medals upgraded in January, 1997 to the Medal of Honor; First Lieutenant Fox was one of the seven.

This in addition to county, state and federal debt!!-----3 Texas cities have heaviest taxpayer burdens in US

3 Texas cities have heaviest taxpayer burdens in US - Watchdog.org:
With billions of dollars in “hidden debt,” three Texas cities have among the heaviest taxpayer burdens in the United States.
Dallas, Houston and San Antonio owe a combined $23 billion, according to Truth in Accounting, a think tank that rated government finances in the country’s biggest cities.
The debt far surpasses the cities’ official figures, which TIA called outdated and incomplete.
The Chicago-based group said municipalities move large chunks of debt off their books to meet balanced-budget requirements.
“This hidden debt is a result of outdated accounting methods used by city government officials, allowing a vast amount of pension and retirees’ health care benefits to be excluded from the cities’ financial reporting,” TIA found.
Dallas was the chief offender, shielding $6 billion of debt from its 2014 balance sheet.
That works out to a per-capita taxpayer burden $17,900.
“The taxpayer burden is a reminder that the city budget has not been balanced,” said Sheila Weinberg, TIA founder and CEO. “Future generations are at risk of acquiring more financial burdens.”
...Ross Kecseg, leader of the Dallas branch of Empower Texans, a conservative activist group, said the TIA report confirmed his research in the Metroplex.
“Local government financials are a complete and utter mess,” he told Watchdog.org. “Unfunded pensions are the largest hidden liability in government accounting.”
In a report last summer, Robert Lemer, a retired CPA and Houston activist, said his city is weighed down by “a bloated and overpaid municipal workforce.”
Only three other big cities had higher taxpayer burdens: New York, $59,000; Philadelphia, $28,800; and Chicago, $28,600..."

EU Leader Admits European Union in Danger of Disappearing

EU Leader Admits European Union in Danger of Disappearing | The Daily Sheeple:
"After decades of misguided economic policies, bureaucratic overreach, and unfettered immigration, the European Union is on the ropes.
While the leaders of the EU do their best to keep the union together, everything we’ve seen since the global financial crisis of 2008, suggests that doing so is a fool’s errand.
Now it seems these leaders are beginning to realize the truth, albeit for the wrong reasons.
Martin Schulz, the President of the European Union Parliament, told the Die Welt newspaper that “The European Union is in danger.
No one can say whether the EU will still exist in this form in 10 years,” before adding that there were “forces at work to drive us apart.”
He believes there will be terrible consequences if this ever comes to pass, and said that the alternative to the European megastate would be a “Europe of nationalism, a Europe of borders and walls...”

Visa Application Asks: ‘Do You Seek to Engage in Terrorist Activities While in the United States?’

"The application form that San Bernardino terrorist Tashfeen Malik would have used to apply for her visa to enter the United States asks such questions as,

  • “Do you seek to engage in terrorist activities while in the United States or have you ever engaged in terrorist activities?”
  • “Are you a member or representative of a terrorist organization,” asks another question, to which the Pakistani citizen would have been required to check a “yes” or “no” box.
  • “Have you ever or do you intend to provide financial assistance or other support to terrorists or terrorist organizations?” asks a third, along with similar questions relating to espionage, human trafficking, money laundering, prostitution and other offenses..."

Hillary Clinton Campaign Heats Up Attacks on Ted Cruz Over Global Warming | TheBlaze.com

Hillary Clinton Campaign Heats Up Attacks on Ted Cruz Over Global Warming | TheBlaze.com:

"The chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign attacked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for chairing a Senate inquiry into global warming Tuesday.

“The science on climate change is clear, 2015 is on track to be the hottest year on record, and the United States is already feeling the impacts of climate change — including in Ted Cruz’s home state of Texas, where severe downpours and flash floods killed dozens this year alone,” Hillary for America Chairman John Podesta said in a statement."

Bernie’s Climate Honesty

Bernie’s Climate Honesty - WSJ:
"Bernie Sanders has no chance to win the Democratic presidential nomination, but the breathtaking details of the climate-change plan he released this week are still worth noting.
They show where the Democratic Party is headed.
The Vermont Senator calls climate change “the single greatest threat facing our planet,” and he seems to mean it.
He is proposing a 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030, and an 80% reduction by 2050, which is significantly more than the up-to 28% cut by 2025 that President Obama has pledged at the Paris climate confab.
To reach this developing world level of CO2 emissions, Mr. Sanders would:

  • impose an unspecified carbon tax; ban all offshore drilling and fossil-fuel leases on federal lands;
  • stop “dirty pipeline” projects; ban natural gas and oil exports;
  • force states to ban fracking; ban mountaintop coal mining; impose a new fuel-efficiency standard of 65 miles per gallon by 2025;
  • spend “massive” federal dollars on subsidies for wind, solar, geothermal, biofuels, home-efficiency programs and energy storage; federally underwrite electric-car charging stations, high-speed passenger and cargo rail, a smart grid, and clean-energy job training; shut down the nuclear industry; and
  • provide “clean energy funding” to the rest of the world.

Mr. Sanders doesn’t include the cost of all this, for obvious political reasons, yet give him points for honesty.
Hillary Clinton wants voters to believe that Planet Earth can be cooled with this rule change or that subsidy tweak.
The Sanders plan admits that decarbonization under current technology will require a government-mandated top-to-bottom remake of the U.S. economy, and maybe the American way of life. Welcome to the revolution."
