Say Communism!
By Tammy Derouin
It was bad enough that the executive not only went to Cuba,
but he willingly posed for the cameras in front of a mural of Che Guevara. Say Communism!
There should have been an enormous amount of outrage considering Che was
a Marxist revolutionary. But, he has
become an iconic symbol of leftist radicalism. So, an American president posing
with Che in the background must be the new normal.
Do you see a pattern?
Obama enjoys aligning himself with individuals and regimes which are in
direct contrast to our fundamental, founding beliefs. The executive really enjoys mocking the United
States, doesn’t he? You can almost see the
twinkle in his eyes as he mixes and mingles among tyrants around the world. Of course, it wasn’t long before things took yet
another embarrassing turn.
While Belgium, one of our European friends, was under
attack, our anti-American executive went to a baseball game in Cuba. While European nations and security forces
within the United States went on high alert, our self-centered executive danced
the tango in Argentina.
How can this happen in our America?!!-----Ten Miles of AZ Border Unguarded For Two Days
Ten Miles of AZ Border Unguarded For Two Days – DennisMichaelLynch.com:
"Shortage of Border Patrol Agents Puts Nation At Risk
A 10-mile stretch of the Arizona border with Mexico was left unmanned for two days, allowing criminal cartel members to cut a hole in the fence, drive two vehicles into the U.S. and escape, according to the head of the national Border Patrol union.
Brandon Judd, president of the 16,500-member National Border Patrol Council, told Congress that surveillance cameras spotted the two vehicles inside the U.S.
Agents who investigated found tracks indicating the vehicles had entered through the hole.
The cartel members put the fence back up and tried to hide the cuts they made, Judd said.
“The scariest part of those vehicles entering into the United States is we don’t know what was in those vehicles.
We have no idea,” Judd testified Wednesday during a House hearing in Washington, D.C.
Judd said the stretch of border in Arizona was left unmanned because the Border Patrol doesn’t have enough agents.
He said the incident was confirmed in management reports but he did not specify the exact location of the incident. Arizona’s border with Mexico is 372.5 miles long."

If true, this is BIG!!-----Flint ill-prepared for corrosion control at time of water switch
Flint ill-prepared for corrosion control at time of water switch | MLive.com:
FLINT, MI-Even if the state had ordered Flint to use corrosion controls when it switched to the Flint River for the city's drinking water, the city would have been unable to do so because it lacked the necessary equipment.
And installing the equipment would have taken up to six months, Flint Utility Director Mike Glasgow told state lawmakers on Tuesday.
"There was so many different things to look at, so many I's to dot and T's to cross that it was somewhat easy for things to be overlooked or looked past," Glasgow told a special Joint Committee on the Flint Water Public Health Emergency.
Flint Utility Administrator Mike Glasgow discusses the city’s water crisis Tuesday, March 29, with reporters following his testimony in front of Michigan's special Joint Committee on the Flint Water Public Health Emergency.
Glasgow told the committee's lawmakers that the decision to use the river was rushed and the speed of the change could have caused things to be overlooked.
The city switched to the river in April 2014 -- the same month that terms ended for Flint's former drinking water supply from Detroit.
Instead of ordering Flint to use chemicals to treat the more corrosive river water, Glasgow said the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality district engineer directed the city to forgo corrosion controls immediately at the time of the switch and instead wait until two six-month monitoring periods had been conducted.
He added that he relied on the DEQ to make the appropriate decisions in terms of treating the city's water supply.
The Flint Water Advisory Task Force appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder has put the blame for the city's water crisis on the DEQ, saying the agency misinterpreted the federal lead and copper rule that would have required corrosion control on the city's water supply.
"There was and remains no justification for MDEQ not requiring corrosion control treatment for the switch of water source to the Flint River," the task force concluded in its final report.
Glasgow, just eight days prior to the city's use of the Flint River, warned state regulators of a potential disaster on the horizon.
"I have people above me making plans to distribute water ASAP," Laboratory & Water Quality Supervisor Mike Glasgow said in an email to the state Department of Environmental Quality on April 17, 2014.
The email was among more than 20,000 pages of documents related to Flint's water crisis and released Feb. 12 by Gov. Rick Snyder.
"I was reluctant before, but after looking at the monitoring schedule and our current staffing, I do not anticipate giving the OK to begin sending water out anytime soon," Glasgow's email says.
"If water is distributed from this plant in the next couple weeks, it will be against my direction.
"I need time to adequately train additional staff and to update our monitoring plans before I will feel we are ready.
I will reiterate this to management above me, but they seem to have their own agenda."

BIENVENIDO: Cubans handed cash, Social Security card, food stamps, Medicaid at U.S. border | Washington Examiner:
"Thousands of Cubans rushing the U.S. border in record numbers are being greeted with a Welcome Wagon operation the provides them with taxpayer-funded benefits including cash, a Social Security card, food stamps, and Medicaid, according to a review of the latest immigration crisis on the border.
During a field trip to the Laredo, Texas crossing point, two experts from the Center for Immigration Studies documented how Cubans are provided with the services free of charge in a storefront operation set up by a Cuban immigrant, who even provides housing and schedules transportation to Miami.
"The door is wide open.
Come and get your free stuff," is how Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies for the Center for Immigration Studies, sized it up.

Not just risking national security. Persona greed!-----WATCHDOG RELEASES TOP TEN MOST ETHICALLY CHALLENGED HILLARY EMAILS
FACT Marks One-Year Anniversary of Clinton Lying at UN
(Washington, D.C.) – March 10, 2016-One year ago today at the United Nations, Hillary Clinton stood in front of the world and lied when she stated:
“I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material.”
Much has changed during that time as a court-ordered release of over
30,000 emails from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server revealed that Clinton sent or received at least 2,079 emails containing classified material, 104 of which she personally and proactively wrote and sent.
...“Overwhelming evidence points to the fact that as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton abused her official position to help her friends and advance her political interests, all while putting our national security at great risk,” said Matthew Whitaker, Executive Director, Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust.
“We will continue to expose the truth about the content of her emails because a politically powerful
individual needs to be held to the same standard as all other citizens.”
The content ranges from granting special access to Clinton’s campaign and Clinton Foundation donors, to assisting her son-in-law’s business contact, to ordering aides to act counter to security protocol:
1. Clinton intervenes for son-in-law Marc Mezvinsky: On August 22, 2012, Clinton acted on a request from her son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky, for the State Department to assist one his business contacts that also had ties to a Clinton Foundation donor. This email exchange was the subject of an ethics complaint filed by FACT with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics in December 2015, which was based upon this apparent special access to the State Department that was given based upon relationships with Clinton’s family members and Clinton Foundation donors.
A long, tawdry list.

Loretta Lynch’s law firm tied to Hillary Clinton:
"Lynch was with the Washington-headquartered international law firm Hogan & Hartson LLP from March 2002 through April 2010.
According to documents Hillary Clinton’s first presidential campaign made public in 2008, Hogan & Hartson’s New York-based partner Howard Topaz was the tax lawyer who filed income tax returns for Bill and Hillary Clinton beginning in 2004.
In addition, Hogan & Hartson in Virginia filed a patent trademark request on May 19, 2004, for Denver-based MX Logic Inc., the computer software firm that developed the email encryption system used to manage Clinton’s private email server beginning in July 2013. A tech expert has observed that employees of MX Logic could have had access to all the emails that went through her account."

The rise of the ‘gentleman’s A’ and the GPA arms race
The rise of the ‘gentleman’s A’ and the GPA arms race - The Washington Post:
"The waters of Lake Wobegon have flooded U.S. college campuses. A’s — once reserved for recognizing excellence and distinction — are today the most commonly awarded grades in America.
That’s true at both Ivy League institutions and community colleges, at huge flagship publics and tiny liberal arts schools, and in English, ethnic studies and engineering departments alike.
Across the country, wherever and whatever they study, mediocre students are increasingly likely to receive supposedly superlative grades.
...the share of A grades has tripled, from just 15 percent of grades in 1940 to 45 percent in 2013.
At private schools, A’s account for nearly a majority of grades awarded."

Colleges quietly recruiting illegal alien students
Colleges quietly recruiting illegal alien students | The American Mirror:
"Kansas State University has built a “certain underground, word-of-mouth” system for aggressively recruiting illegal immigrant students, regardless of whether they qualify for President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
Over the last several years Kansas State recruiters have used privately raised cash to provide grants and scholarships to illegal immigrant students, and word is starting to spread.
Students like Maria De La Torre – an illegal immigrant valedictorian of her high school class in Missouri, where non-citizens must pay out-of-state tuition – are getting sweetheart deals that cover virtually all of their education.
...Kansas State is certainly not the first university to court illegal immigrants, however.
The Associated Press earlier this month highlighted similar efforts by Western New Mexico University, as well as City University of New York, Loyola University Chicago Stritch School Of Medicine.
Officials at Western New Mexico University are targeting high performing illegal immigrant high schoolers “using a combination of social media and face-to-face recruiting.
“Through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the school works to convince students they’d find a hospitable environment for immigrants and possible financial aid at the 3,700-student university located in the mining town of Silver City,” according to the news service."

Answer? Nothing for the children. Lots of democrat votes for the politicians.-----Four Questions About the Detroit Public Schools Plan
Four Questions About the Detroit Public Schools Plan [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
The Michigan Senate passed a package of bills that would rescue Detroit Public Schools financially. Among other things, it includes $48.7 million to keep the insolvent district afloat until the end of the current school year, which is considered a down payment on a larger bailout that includes $515 million in debt forgiveness and another $202 million for transition costs.
The debt forgiveness is not the most controversial part of the package; the state is already on the hook for this money and the district has no way to repay it.
A more contentious part of the rescue plan is a proposal to create a new Detroit Education Commission, appointed by Mayor Mike Duggan, with the power to ration the expansion of charter schools in the city.
This comes despite the fact that the best independent research shows charters are currently providing better learning opportunities for Detroit children and that federal reports have labeled DPS as the nation's worst urban school district since 2009.
The Senate proposal’s prospects are uncertain in the Michigan House, which has bailout legislation that is much friendlier toward increasing school choice options in the city.
As legislators work out a solution, they should consider the following questions.

Detroit Principals Indicted In $1 Million Kickback Scheme | The Daily Caller:
"Federal authorities have charged at least 12 school principals in Detroit with participating in a $900,000 kickback scheme involving fake school supply orders which wasted millions of dollars while district leaders begged for more state money.
Businessman Norman Shy made $908,500 in payments to school principals in return for receiving a series of Detroit Public Schools (DPS) contracts to deliver school supplies, totaling about $2.7 million, according to court documents.
The alleged scheme was quite involved, with principals submitting fake invoices to cover for Shy, who often never even delivered the promised school supplies.
The federal probe implicates Shy and 12 current and former principals and one administrator.
The least-involved member is accused of receiving $4,000 in bribes, while Cara Flowers, the assistant superintendent for DPS’s special education department, is accused of taking a whopping $324,000.
The alleged kickbacks included not only cash payments, but gift cards and even free home repairs.
Astonishingly, less than two months ago, one of the charged principals, Ronald Alexander, appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, where his sad story about a crumbling school building spurred DeGeneres to make a $500,000 donation, touted as her most generous gift ever..."

North Korea Tells Citizens to Prepare Themselves for Famine
North Korea Tells Citizens to Prepare Themselves for Famine | TIME
"The road to revolution is long and arduous"
North Korea instructed the country Monday to brace itself for possible famine and severe economic hardship — but not to despair, because “the road to revolution is long and arduous,” according to an editorial in the state-run newspaper.
The article, published in Rodong Sinmun — the print mouthpiece of the North Korean government — comes less than a month after the U.N. Security Council voted in favor of slapping the Hermit Kingdom with tougher sanctions, after the country teased its potential nuclear and military capabilities earlier this year.
The editorial stated that hardships to come might evoke another “arduous march” — the term assigned to the famine that struck the country in the mid-1990s, killing as many as 3 million people, reports the Telegraph, a British newspaper.
“We may have to go on an arduous march, during which we will have to chew the roots of plants once again,” the editorial piece read.
Rodong Sinmun called for a “70-day campaign of loyalty” and reportedly demanded that the North Korean people demonstrate their allegiance to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
To that end, the country is requiring all residents of Pyongyang, North Korea’s capital city, to deliver about 2 lb. of rice to state warehouses each month.
The Telegraph reports that the country has also requested nearly half a million tons of food aid from other countries.
As of last month, however, only 17,600 tons had arrived."

Chicago Teachers Union threatens members who cross picket line | EAGnews.org:
"CHICAGO – The Chicago Teachers Union is threating members who don’t want to walk out on their students April 1.
The CTU is planning a “Day of Action” for April Fool’s Day, and some teachers are complaining that union officials are threatening to kick them out of the union if they don’t participate, DNAinfo reports.
“It was said to me as a matter of fact that the consequences of choosing to come to school is being kicked out of the union,” a South Side high school teacher who did not want to be identified told the news site.
“I’m furious about the whole thing.”
Other educators also spoke up, though none were willing to give their name out of fear that CTU leadership will retaliate.
“’How do I get out of being part of this debacle?
Is a question being asked in teacher lounges at schools across the city,” a grade school teacher said, adding she’s “morally and ethically” against a walkout.
Teachers who are kicked out of their union must continue to pay union fees but do not receive the same benefits as full members.
If non-union teachers don’t cough up the cash, most union contracts allow union officials to require the district to terminate their employment..."

Homegrown Nuclear Terrorism in Belgium Proves Cruz Right
Homegrown Nuclear Terrorism in Belgium Proves Cruz Right:
"This is no joke. This is probably the closest thing to nuclear terrorism we’ve witnessed in the age of jihad, and the plot was hatched in a western country by children of Islamic immigrants born in Belgium.
If you think for one minute this problem is limited to Europe, think again. Every week there is another incident of a homegrown terrorist arrested in any one of our fifty states on charges of aiding ISIS or some other radical Islamic group."

Islamist Terror Growing in Lethality and Geography
Islamist Terror Growing in Lethality and Geography, IPT Analysis Finds :: The Investigative Project on Terrorism:
The massacres in Brussels and Paris are only the latest salvos in a heightening and devastating threat from radical Islamists globally.
They illustrate troubling and much larger trends that the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) has identified in a new analysis based upon its extensive research, sources and multiple databases, including the University of Maryland Global Terrorism Database.
The IPT's analysis reached the following conclusions:
- Islamist attacks in Europe will increase over the next 18 to 24 months.
- Terrorism in Africa will expand numerically and geographically.
- Radical Islamists will further destabilize the Middle East, targeting specifically Jordan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
- Jihadists will expand their efforts and focus in South and Southeast Asia.
IPT research found that on average of 3,284 people died in Islamist terror attacks only five years ago.
Today, that average is 28,708 per year....
Looking ahead, the IPT is pessimistic that the numbers will improve in the short and medium term. They are based on the following critical trends identified in the data.

This Stunning Chart Shows How Trump's Border Wall Will Stop Illegal Immigration
This Stunning Chart Shows How Trump's Border Wall Will Stop Illegal Immigration
There have been a lot of arguments put forth about Trump’s border wall idea.
There have been a lot of arguments put forth about Trump’s border wall idea.
Some say such a wall will do nothing to stem the tide of illegal immigrants crossing into the United States through our southern border.
Others argue that the hundreds of miles of border can only be secured by a well constructed barrier.
Others argue that the hundreds of miles of border can only be secured by a well constructed barrier.
The following chart from The Daily Caller should put any debate over the matter to rest.
The data is compiled from immigration statistics by the Hungarian Police and shows that not only does such a wall work, it begins working almost instantly.
Several European countries have erected fences to keep migrants out, and, according to the numbers, every case appears to have a large impact.…
When the fence went up Oct. 17, the influx went down to 870 from 6,353 only a day earlier. Illegal border crossing were steadily below 40 per day throughout the rest of the month
The numbers speak for themselves.
We now have proof of concept for how to mitigate and eliminate the immigration crisis facing the United States.
Are our elected officials prepared to step up and do what needs to be done?"
