Cruz to Newsmax: Kasich Is 'Spoiler' Helping Trump:

"Ted Cruz feels confident he can beat Donald Trump in a contested Republican National Convention, but he told Newsmax, his path to the nomination would be much easier if John Kasich were not in the race and delegates committed to Marco Rubio and others now out of the race came over to him."

If You Don’t Want to be Marked Down for Using Trigger Words, DON’T TAKE THESE CLASSES!

If You Don’t Want to be Marked Down for Using Trigger Words, DON’T TAKE THESE CLASSES! | Intellectual Takeout:
"Another example of the censorial character of modern universities is making its way around the internet.
According to the original article in Campus Reform (a conservative site), “Multiple professors at Washington State University have explicitly told students their grades will suffer if they use terms such as ‘illegal alien,’ ‘male,’ and ‘female,’ or if they fail to ‘defer’ to non-white students.”
The article goes on to point out that “several other WSU professors require their students to ‘acknowledge that racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, and other institutionalized forms of oppression exist’ or that ‘we do not live in a post-racial world.’”
Now, we at Intellectual Takeout are definitely concerned about the trend toward linguistic sanitization at today’s colleges, which has been highlighted in recent Atlantic articles here and here.
BUT… the examples above are taken from courses titled “Women & Popular Culture,” “Introduction to Comparative Ethnic Studies,” “Introduction to Multicultural Literature,” and “Race and Racism in US Popular Culture.”...

Air France stewardesses mutiny over order to wear headscarves

Air France stewardesses mutiny over order to wear headscarves:
Air France stewardesses, furious at being ordered to wear headscarves in Tehran, say they will refuse to fly to the Iranian capital when the airline resumes the service later this month.
Female members of flight crews have been ordered to cover their hair once they disembark in Tehran and unions are demanding that the flights be made voluntary for women.
The resumption of a thrice-weekly service between Paris and Tehran, planned for April 17 after an eight-year break, follows a thaw in relations since Iran agreed to dismantle large sections of its nuclear programme.
Iranian women have been forced by law to cover their hair or face stiff fines since the 1979 Islamic revolution.
...In Saudi Arabia, stewardesses must wear the “abaya”, a long robe that covers the body, but unlike Saudi women they are not compelled to wear face veils..."

Communism Part III: The Rise in America | Glenn Beck

Communism Part III: The Rise in America | Glenn Beck:

"Communism Part III: The Rise in America
America has been the single biggest force in changing the fortunes of the world, more than any other nation ever conceived. As such, you would assume the nation would be celebrated. And with many, it is. But with others, it’s mocked, ridiculed, derided, blamed and demonized. And then there are those within its own borders who have sought to fundamentally transform it.

Ever since communism took root in Russia and began spreading its philosophy around the globe, the United States has been fighting its spread from the outside. The more difficult battle, however, has come from within. Even with the freedom, prosperity and quality of life in America, for a variety of reasons, there have always been dissenters."

Euro-court outlaws criticism of EU

Euro-court outlaws criticism of EU - Telegraph:
"THE European Court of Justice ruled yesterday that the European Union can lawfully suppress political criticism of its institutions and of leading figures, sweeping aside English Common Law and 50 years of European precedents on civil liberties.
The EU's top court found that the European Commission was entitled to sack Bernard Connolly, a British economist dismissed in 1995 for writing a critique of European monetary integration entitled The Rotten Heart of Europe.
The ruling stated that the commission could restrict dissent in order to "protect the rights of others" and punish individuals who "damaged the institution's image and reputation".
The case has wider implications for free speech that could extend to EU citizens who do not work for the Brussels bureaucracy.
The court called the Connolly book "aggressive, derogatory and insulting", taking particular umbrage at the author's suggestion that Economic and Monetary Union was a threat to democracy, freedom and "ultimately peace".
However, it dropped an argument put forward three months ago by the advocate-general, Damaso Ruiz-Jarabo Colomer, which implied that Mr Connolly's criticism of the EU was akin to extreme blasphemy, and therefore not protected speech."...

#VSPShooting: Trooper Assassin James Brown III was a cop-hating Django

#VSPShooting: Trooper Assassin James Brown III was a cop-hating Django:

"CBS 6 interviewed Brown’s aunt, who had helped raised him and left no doubt about the killer’s motives. This rage-filled assassin hated cops, had amassed a mile-long rap sheet, and cheered other cop-killers. "He always liked the criminal side," she told the station.
"He had a lot of anger about the police in the past," she added. "He pretty much thought he wanted to be infamous . . ."

This is how it starts-----Donald Trump 'Banned' From West Hollywood

Donald Trump 'Banned' From West Hollywood - Breitbart:
"Donald Trump is not welcome to host campaign events in West Hollywood, the city’s mayor said this week.
In an open letter to the 87 other mayors in Los Angeles County and in an op-ed for the Advocate, West Hollywood Mayor Lindsey Horvath wrote that the Republican presidential frontrunner would be barred from making campaign appearances in her city in an effort to shield the community from the candidate’s of “hate speech and violent rhetoric.”
“I firmly believe it is the responsibility of those of us in leadership to use our words and actions wisely.
That is why I took the opportunity to express how deeply disturbed I am by the Trump presidential campaign and to call out their destructive tactics,” Horvath, 34, wrote in the op-ed.
“The campaign has gone beyond its right to express a political point of view or policy differences, which we all have to greater or lesser degrees.
The hate speech and implicit calls to violence coming from Trump and his campaign are beyond the pale and have no place in any community in our country,” she added.
In an email to the Washington Examiner, Horvath said that both Republican and Democratic candidates had made campaign stops in West Hollywood in the past, “[but] those same Horvath courtesies will not be extended to the Trump campaign.”
The mayor also said she had instructed city staffers that they may refuse to issue special permits to the Trump campaign to hold official events in the city, and that it is “well with[in] [their] right” to do so.
“We do not have to agree or like one another, but as Americans and political figures in the public eye, we share a responsibility to lead by example,” Horvath concluded her open letter.
“I take that responsibility very seriously, and I ask that you do the same.”...

Turkey: The Business of Refugee Smuggling, Sex Trafficking

Turkey: The Business of Refugee Smuggling, Sex Trafficking:
  • Professional criminals convince parents that their daughters are going to a better life in Turkey. The parents are given 2000-5000 Turkish liras ($700-$1700) as a "bride price" -- an enormous sum for a poor Syrian family.
  • "Girls between the ages of twelve and sixteen are referred to as pistachios, those between seventeen and twenty are called cherries, twenty to twenty-two are apples, and anyone older is a watermelon." — From a report on Turkey, by End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes (ECPAT).
  • Many Muslims have difficulty with, or even an aversion to, assimilating into the Western culture. Many seem to have the aim of importing to Europe the culture of intimidation, rape and abuse from which they fled.
  • Although the desperate victims are their Muslim sisters and brothers, wealthy Arab states do not take in refugees. The people in this area know too well that asylum seekers would bring with them problems, both social and economic. For many Muslim men such as wealthy, aging Saudis, it is easier to buy Syrian children from Turkey, Syria or Jordan as cheap sex slaves.
On International Women's Day, March 8, Turkish news outlets covered the tragic life and early death of a Syrian child bride.
Last August, in Aleppo, Mafe Zafur, 15, married her cousin Ibrahim Zafur in an Islamic marriage.
The couple moved to Turkey, but the marriage ended after six months, when her husband abruptly threw out of their home.
With nowhere to sleep, Mafe found shelter with her brother, 19, and another cousin, 14, in an abandoned truck.
On 8 March, Mafe killed herself, reportedly with a shotgun.
Her only possession, found in her pocket, was her handwritten marriage certificate.
Mafe Zafur is only one of many young Syrians who have been victims of child marriage.
Human rights groups report even greater abuse that gangs are perpetrating against the approximately three million Syrians who have fled to Turkey..."

Law enforcement took more stuff from people than burglars did last year

Law enforcement took more stuff from people than burglars did last year - The Washington Post: "Here's an interesting factoid about contemporary policing:
In 2014, for the first time ever, law enforcement officers took more property from American citizens than burglars did.
Martin Armstrong pointed this out at his blog, Armstrong Economics, last week.
Officers can take cash and property from people without convicting or even charging them with a crime — yes, really! — through the highly controversial practice known as civil asset forfeiture.
Last year, according to the Institute for Justice, the Treasury and Justice departments deposited more than $5 billion into their respective asset forfeiture funds.
That same year, the FBI reports that burglary losses topped out at $3.5 billion.
...Still, boil down all the numbers and caveats above and you arrive at a simple fact:
In the United States, in 2014, more cash and property transferred hands via civil asset forfeiture than via burglary.
The total value of asset forfeitures was more than one-third of the total value of property stolen by criminals in 2014.
That represents something of a sea change in the way police do business — and it's prompting plenty of scrutiny of the practice.

REVEALED: Bill for Obama's Christmas Just Came in... Nothing Can Prepare You for This

REVEALED: Bill for Obama's Christmas Just Came in... Nothing Can Prepare You for This:

"“The American people have every right to be appalled that Barack Obama wastes their precious tax dollars on an endless stream of golf vacations, political fundraisers, and exorbitant vacations,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement. “The Obama travel issue is about abuse of office, abuse of the taxpayer, and contempt for the rule of law.”

Fitton is absolutely right that the American people are appalled at the taxpayer money being wasted by Obama for nonofficial trips, vacations and golf outings, particularly when many are still struggling in a seemingly stagnant economy."

The more marijuana you smoke the more likely you are to be a loser

The more marijuana you smoke the more likely you are to be a loser | Daily Mail Online:
"The more cannabis you smoke, the more likely you are to be a loser, finds international study
  • Persistent users likely to be lower paid and have relationship difficulties
  • Research found abusers ended up in a lower social class than their parents
  • Also more prone to be in less skilled, prestigious jobs and to run into debt
  • Study by Californian university followed children from birth up to age of 38
International research has revealed that the more cannabis you smoke, the more likely you are to be lower paid and have relationship difficulties.
The study followed children from birth up to the age of 38 and found people who smoked cannabis four or more days a week over many years ended up in a lower social class than their parents.
It also found that regular and persistent users ended up with lower-paying, less skilled and less prestigious jobs than those who were not regular cannabis smokers.
Financial, work-related and relationship difficulties were further experienced by those taking the drug, which worsened as the number of years of regular cannabis use progressed..."

WATCH: Debunking the Myth of ‘Democratic’ Socialism | Glenn Beck

WATCH: Debunking the Myth of ‘Democratic’ Socialism | Glenn Beck:

"Here’s how you know people generally disfavor socialism. Proponents of socialism take a parent to child approach by wrapping a distasteful thing (socialism) inside something seen as more palatable (democrocy). Viola, cheese covered broccoli. Except Democratic Socialism is still socialism, with all the trappings and pitfalls of a miserable population, a crap economy, and a huge gap between rich and poor. Also, spoiler alert: "

10 demographic trends that are shaping the U.S. and the world | Pew Research Center

10 demographic trends that are shaping the U.S. and the world | Pew Research Center
"... here is a roundup of some of Pew Research Center’s recent demography-related findings that tell us how America and the world are changing.
1Americans are more racially and ethnically diverse than in the past, and the U.S. is projected to be even more diverse in the coming decades. By 2055, the U.S. will not have a single racial or ethnic majority. Much of this change has been (and will be) driven by immigration. Nearly 59 million immigrants have arrived in the U.S. in the past 50 years, mostly from Latin America and Asia. Today, a near-record 14% of the country’s population is foreign born compared with just 5% in 1965. Over the next five decades, the majority of U.S. population growth is projected to be linked to new Asian and Hispanic immigration. American attitudes about immigration and diversity are supportive of these changes for the most part. More Americans say immigrants strengthen the country than say they burden it, and most say the U.S.’s increasing ethnic diversity makes it a better place to live.
2U.S. ImmigrantsAsia has replaced Latin America (including Mexico) as the biggest source of new immigrants to the U.S. In a reversal of one of the largest mass migrations in modern history, net migration flows from Mexico to the U.S.turned negative between 2009 and 2014, as more Mexicans went home than arrived in the U.S. And after rising steadily since 1990, the unauthorized immigrant population has leveled off in recent years, falling to 11.3 million in 2014 from a high of 12.2 million in 2007. Meanwhile, Asians are now the only major racial or ethnic group whose numbers are rising mainly because of immigration. And while African immigrants make up a small share of the U.S. immigrant population, their numbers are also growing steadily – roughly doubling every decade since 1970..."

Dianne Feinstein Is Asked To Name Hillary's Accomplishments In The Senate...Her Answer Says It ALL:

"After three decades serving in various roles in public life, Hillary Clinton has certainly had ample time to establish a record of accomplishment — including during her eight-year stint as a U.S. senator from New York. But when asked what the Democrat presidential hopeful accomplished while in the upper chamber of Congress, a longtime ally came up embarrassingly short."
