Dem party platform calls for prosecuting global warming skeptics
Dem party platform calls for prosecuting global warming skeptics:
"Democratic operatives responsible for creating their party’s platform this year have unanimously adopted a provision calling for the Department of Justice to investigate companies who disagree with Democrats on global warming science.
A panel of Democrats voted Friday to approve a final draft of the party’s platform to promote “Progressive Democratic Values,” which apparently includes investigating energy companies who “misled” shareholders about global warming.
“Another joint proposal calling on the Department of Justice to investigate alleged corporate fraud on the part of fossil fuel companies who have reportedly misled shareholders and the public on the scientific reality of climate change was also adopted by unanimous consent,” according to the Democratic National Convention’s website.
The drafting committee, led by DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings, has decided to back ongoing investigations by mostly Democratic state attorneys general into ExxonMobil’s stance on global warming..."

MUST READ of the Day!-----The Stupidity of the Left
Articles: The Stupidity of the Left:
"The lame excuse a sitting attorney general gave for meeting privately with the husband of a prime FBI suspect who was himself a possible target of investigation reveals, if we needed more revelation, the mental vacuity and profound ignorance of leftism.
Soon, however, the Bolsheviks descended into such grotesque mediocrity that even Molotov began to be seen as a clever Bolshevik, and Voroshilov was placed in command of the Red Army.
Academia, of course, collapsed first in the Soviet Empire.
Anyone familiar with the last fifty years of that evil empire writes about the utter stultifying stupidity not only of the Communist Party leadership and cadres, but also of university systems, which churned out thousands of scientists who never discovered anything.
What replaced thinking and discovery was mind-numbing conformity.
Over time, the only people who could rise in the Soviet hierarchy were men who did not really know anything and did not say or think anything except the comical nonsense of Marxist-Leninism.
College courses are often taught by these limited, blindered minds.
The legal profession, government, and academia are filled with these unintelligent people, living their own careers surrounded by others just as drearily average and utterly doctrinaire.
Black women like the attorney general get a double-whammy of affirmative action in lowered standards and then are surrounded by other people just as dumb and just as dependent upon parroting the party line as the answer to almost every conceivable issue or question.
There are no real tests, no real challenges, and no real evaluations of these leftists.
This explains the blank résumé of Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton: she "was" the first lady; she "was" a senator from New York; she "was" secretary of state – so what?
Her statements are all utterly scripted and given to a doting establishment media that never, ever challenges her inconsistencies or asks anything hard.
The pabulum of global warming is accepted as easily as Soviet scientists accepted the idiocy of Lysenko.
The same predictable "solutions" are offered for every single problem: more "investment" on education and infrastructure, stronger gun control laws, more draconian environmental regulations, more "diversity," and more of everything that has never worked in America anywhere and anytime it has been tried.
No one on the left ever needs to think at all, and those who do think risk losing tenure, getting fired from network news programs, and being demonized as racist or sexist or reactionary or something equally silly.
Because independent thinking itself is dangerous, no leftist cadre dares to risk trying to think – just read the script, regurgitate the familiar dogma, and keep a closed mind.
Moreover, these folks keep telling each other how smart they are, and no one ever tells them differently.
Their résumé of "accomplishment" replaces any need for intelligence, rather like the scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, who is given by the Wizard a diploma as "proof" of his braininess.
Because their "work" is inevitably in such squishy, amorphous occupations as lawyers, politicians, professors, and bureaucrats, which have no real measurable and external standards, all these people ever hear is the praise of fellow robots.
Naturally, they believe it.
Indeed, seeing the real world would be a devastating personal blow.
This is an alternative explanation to many of the conspiracy theories of conservatives about leftists. When Loretta Lynch has ex parte communication with the spouse of a criminal investigation, it is because she is just not very smart at all.
When Hillary sets up a private email server in her basement through which flow state secrets, it is for the same reason that she flunked a bar exam in the District of Columbia that nearly everyone else passed.
Leftism is stupid, and its operatives over time become increasingly dumb and ignorant.
We see it, and it is horrifying to believe it – but that is the truth."

Yes, it’s possible to balance the budget in one year if Congress listens to these recommendations
Yes, it’s possible to balance the budget in one year if Congress listens to these recommendations « Hot Air:
This week Citizens Against Government Waste released their annual Prime Cuts 2016 report, which is a detailed list of which pork can be cut from the orgy of spending that occurs in Washington.
...In all, there were 618 recommendations to get spending under control.
In crunching the numbers, CAGW found that there were $644.1 billion in immediate savings, with $2.6 trillion over the next five years if all of the recommendations were acted upon in the report.

That could lead to a balanced budget in a year:
…[I]f all of the Prime Cuts recommendations were adopted, a balanced budget could be achieved in one year. Since CAGW’s inception in 1984, the implementation of its recommendations has helped save taxpayers $1.4 trillion.Prime Cuts 2016 addresses every area of government spending. For example, the report proposes eliminating the Market Access Program (MAP), which aims to help agricultural producers promote U.S. products overseas.
However, MAP is really a corporate welfare program that funnels millions of dollars to large, profitable corporations and trade associations that can well afford to pay for their own ads. Eliminating MAP would save taxpayers $1 billion over five years.[…]While some in Congress consider DOD spending to be sacrosanct, U.S. military brass is on board with cost savings at the Pentagon. In August 2013, Navy Vice Admiral David Dunaway stated, “In the face of decreasing budgets, rapidly evolving threats, and a shift in national defense strategy that demands more than ever from our naval forces, it’s imperative that every dollar spent increase warfighting capability.”...

"Keep that in mind as we go into 2016
In the West there seems to be an assumption that runs through a variety of political orientations that if we just solve poverty, provide more freedoms, or accommodate desires that all people will be peaceful.
We seem to have forgotten that the West’s system of government and general political outlook has traditionally been rooted in the idea that all men commit both good and evil, and that some evil cannot be remedied by any means other than force.
Such thinking was long rooted in the Christian view of the fallen nature of man.
It was believed that all men were affected by original sin and therefore had an evil side to them.
Some men fought against the evil within, while others gave themselves over to it.
In pop-culture terms, think Darth Sidious.
The greatest defense against the dark side of man’s nature was to raise children with a moral compass so that individuals could govern themselves.
Nonetheless, there was a recognition that even the best of us commit evil and, therefore, government was seen as necessary to restrain the destructive tendencies of man’s nature.
The danger in government, though, was that the darkest of man’s desires could harness its power for selfish desires which would lead to absolute despotism.
In recent history, think Hitler, Stalin, or Mao.
But there is also another kind of man, the destroyer.
He is a variant of man’s desire to have power.
While some men want power to create something that exalts them, other men find the fulfillment of power by destroying everything.
There can be nothing over them and in this way they give themselves over to their desires at the expense of all others.
The recent Batman movie, The Dark Knight, popularized this attitude in Alfred’s well-known warning to Bruce Wayne:
It is something to keep in mind as the West debates open borders, domestic crime, and how to solve all of the evils that bedevil us and the world.
If indeed good and evil are a part of the human condition then the best we can do is to try and teach children what is right and wrong as well as establishing and maintaining just laws that balance freedom and order while containing the destructive tendencies innate in all of us.
It is important to keep in mind that some individuals will not be satisfied with the common desires of man, they seek to destroy, to devour, to enslave."

National debt jumps nearly $100 billion in one day to record high | Washington Examiner:
"The U.S. national debt is creeping up again, after holding steady for the last few months thanks to the annual flood of individual and corporate tax receipts.
Total government debt hit a record $19.38 trillion on Thursday, up nearly $98 billion from the day before.
It's the first time it has ever exceeded $19.3 trillion.
The debt will soar higher still in the coming months, and is expected to approach $20 trillion by the time President Obama leaves office.
...The federal government collected a record high $1.48 trillion in tax revenues in the first half of the year, which helped offset growth in the deficit over the last few months..."

Rochester, NY school administrators take 33 days off per year, despite dismal student proficiency
Rochester, NY school administrators take 33 days off per year, despite dismal student proficiency | EAGnews.org:
"ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester school district’s sick day and vacation policy for administrators appears to be a bit problematic.
The district takes it on the chin when principals, vice principals, department heads and other administrators are absent, which happens quite frequently.
The district also takes it on the chin when they come to work, because they receive healthy payouts for unused sick days, as well as attendance bonuses.
Under terms of the district’s contract with the administrator union, employees earn one paid sick day per month and can bank up to 220 unused sick days.
They are also given between 25 and 30 paid vacation days per year, depending on when they were hired.
Does such a policy encourage employees to miss work?
Apparently so.
In 2014-15, 306 Rochester administrators took 3,554 sick days, for an average of 11.61 per employee.
They also took 3,973 vacation days, for an average of 12.95 per employee.
They are allowed to take up to three paid personal days, and averaged just over two per employee.
They took 1,860 paid miscellaneous leave days for an average of 6.08 per employee.
That comes out to an average of about 33 days of paid absences per year per employee.
...According to the Democrat and Chronicle, just 3.8% of Rochester 8th graders were proficient or better in reading and writing, while a shocking .8% — yes, less than 1% — of 8th graders were proficient in math.
But then there was the headache of paying off administrators with good attendance habits.
Employees are allowed to bank up to 40 unused vacation days and cash them in when they leave the district.
Those who retire with at least 15 years of consecutive service, and used fewer than 15 sick days in the previous five years, are also given a $10,000 bonus..."

For sheer stupidity and incompetence, this incident involving the TSA and a disabled teenage girl suffering from brain cancer who was savagely thrown to the floor when she became confused about a metal detector going off can't be beat.
Why these bullies weren't thrown in jail is a mystery.
Seventeen-year-old Hannah Cohen was preparing to fly from Memphis to her home in Chattanooga with her parents last year.
Hannah was going home following her annual treatments at St. Jude hospital for brain cancer.
Hannah was going home following her annual treatments at St. Jude hospital for brain cancer.
She passed through the metal detectors, setting off an alarm -- and what happened next will make your blood boil.
Her years of treatment left the teenager partially deaf, blind in one eye, and limited in her abilities to walk and talk. She also, according to her mother, can become easily confused. When Hannah went through the metal detector at the airport, an alarm went off. Disoriented by the noise, she did not immediately cooperate with TSA agents who asked to conduct further screening.Shirley Cohen tried to inform the agents about her daughter's disabilities, she told television station WREG, but airport police kept her away. That's when the situation between Hannah and the TSA officials became violent:"She's trying to get away from them but in the next instant, one of them had her down on the ground and hit her head on the floor. There was blood everywhere," said [Shirley].Security personnel arrested Hannah (though all charges against her were later dropped), and what should have been a night of celebration with family and friends because a night of terror and confusion in a jail cell..."

'It’s like a third world country' Patients hit out at struggling London A&E | UK | News | Daily Express:
"PATIENTS have blasted a struggling A&E department and said nurses were seen laughing as beds piled up in a corridor.
The under-fire emergency department at North Middlesex University Hospital, Edmonton, north London has been threatened with closure and patients have been quick to criticise the service.
One of London’s busiest A&E departments, Express.co.uk saw patients told they faced a minimum three hour wait on a quiet Tuesday morning.
A sick bowl was left on a chair and bloodstains were left on the floor as at least 30 people were made to wait for initial assessment at the hospital’s urgent care unit.
A man with a broken arm spent four hours in the unit before his arm was put in a cast as patients revealed the area around x-ray was “in chaos”.
As patients crowded into the waiting room one eyewitness reported seeing two girls arrive with saucepans full of food ready for a long wait.
She said: “I saw two girls down here with saucepans full of food.
They had a baby with them and had covered the pans but how long did they think they were going to have to wait.”
The busy waiting room was full of patients from Eastern Europe including Lithuania and Ukraine and a TV screen flashing notices asked patients if they needed a translator.
A third of the population of Enfield was born outside the UK and the borough’s population rocketed by 14.2 per cent between 2001 and 2011..."

Former UN official John Ashe “accidentally” crushed his own throat and died a week before he was scheduled to testify against the Clintons and Democrat Party.
Zero Hedge reported:
Call it conspiracy theory, coincidence or just bad luck, but any time someone is in a position to bring down Hillary Clinton by testifying they wind up dead. In fact, there’s a long history of Clinton-related body counts, with scores of people dying under mysterious circumstances.Perhaps the most notable is Vince Foster. Foster was a partner at Clinton’s law firm and knew the inner workings of the Clinton Machine. Police ruled that death a suicide, though it is often noted that Foster may have been suicided. Now, another official has found himself on the wrong end of the Clintons. That John Ashe was a former President of the United Nations General Assembly highlights the fact that no one is safe once in their sights. And as you might have guessed, there are major inconsistencies with Ashe’s death. It was not only conveniently timed because Ashe died just a few days before being set to testify against Clinton in a corruption case, but official reports indicated he died of a heart attack. The problem, however, is that police on the scene reported Ashe died when his throat was crushed during a work-out accident. The New York Post’s Page Six reported that after Ashe was found dead Wednesday, the U.N. claimed that he had died from a heart attack. Local police officers in Dobbs Ferry, New York, later disputed that claim, saying instead that he died from a workout accident that crushed his throat.Adding to the mysterious nature of Ashe’s death was the fact that he had been slated to be in court Monday with his Chinese businessman co-defendant Ng Lap Seng, from whom he reportedly received over $1 billion in donations during his term as president of the U.N. General Assembly. And then there was this: During the presidency of Bill Clinton, Seng illegally funneled several hundred thousand dollars to the Democrat National Committee.

IRS Tea-Party Harassment May Have Broken the Law | National Review
IRS Tea-Party Harassment May Have Broken the Law | National Review:
"The Justice Department later told Congress that the documents contained confidential taxpayer information protected by federal law. The nature of that information hasn’t been made public, but the so-called Schedule B form, for example, which non-profit groups are required to attach to their tax returns, known as 990s, asks for the names and addresses of donors to the organization.
But we already knew that. The transfer of information at Lerner’s request came to light during a congressional investigation in 2014. What we know now, thanks to additional documents unearthed in years-long litigation by the good-government group Cause of Action, is that Lerner almost certainly broke the law when she transferred the documents. That casts a new light on the Justice Department’s decision last year not to prosecute Lerner, who had become the face of the IRS’s ham-handed effort to crack down on right-leaning groups, but against whom a criminal case might have been difficult to build."

That casts a new light on the Justice Department’s decision last year not to prosecute Lerner, who had become the face of the IRS’s ham-handed effort to crack down on right-leaning groups, but against whom a criminal case might have been difficult to build."

Shocking Polls Show What U.S. Muslims Think of U.S. Laws | PJ Media

As July 4 approaches, new polling data reveal non-Muslim Americans are increasingly cognizant of the threat Sharia -- Islam’s totalitarian religio-political “law” -- poses to their basic liberties.
Overwhelmingly, they reject its encroachment in the United States.
But polling data also reveal that an ominous, growing proportion of American Muslims wish to impose Sharia on America.
...The unblinkered assessment of Sharia validates its broadly shared rejection by non-Muslim Americans, but also illustrates how increased U.S. Muslim Sharia support represents a dangerous trend.
...Sharia is utterly incompatible with the conceptions of human rights enshrined in the U.S. Bill of Rights.
...From October 22 to October 26, 2012, Wenzel Strategies polled 600 U.S. Muslims of high socio-economic status.
They were asked:
Do you believe that criticism of Islam or Muhammad should be permitted under the Constitution’s First Amendment?
Regarding this most fundamental U.S. right, 58% replied “no.”
Only 42% affirmed this most basic manifestation of freedom of speech, i.e., to criticize religious or any other dogma.
Indeed, oblivious to U.S. constitutional law as opposed to Islam’s Sharia, a largely concordant 45% of respondents agreed with the following:
[T]hose who criticize or parody Islam in the U.S. should face criminal charges.
Only 38% did not; 17% were “unsure...”

Cornyn calls for special counsel after Lynch, Clinton meeting | Washington Examiner:
"Sen. John Cornyn, the second-highest ranking Republican in the Senate, said a special counsel is needed now more than ever in the Hillary Clinton email investigation after news broke that Attorney General Loretta Lynch met earlier this week with former President Bill Clinton.
"This incident does nothing to instill confidence in the American people that her department can fully and fairly conduct this investigation, and that's why a special counsel is needed now more than ever," Cornyn, R-Texas, said in a statement Thursday."

Democrat-PA lawmaker: Ban Confederate flag from Gettysburg battle reenactment
PA lawmaker: Ban Confederate flag from Gettysburg battle reenactment - The American MirrorThe American Mirror:
"A Pennsylvania state government leader wants American history revised to tell her preferred version of events.
Rep. Vanessa Lowery Brown (D-Philadelphia) doesn’t think the Confederate flag should be used during the re-enactment of bloody Gettysburg battle that occurred in early July 1863 during the Civil War — because organizers aren’t telling the story the way she wants it to be told.
“I’ve been to a lot of reenacting and the reenacting does not tell the stories accurately,” Brown claims, according to ABC 27.
Speaking about the Confederate battle flag, she added, “If they’re not going to tell the story properly, then they should not be displayed and they should not be reenacted unless they’re going to tell the truth.”
Brown said there “hasn’t been many that have really told the story about the oppression of the Confederate flag.”
The annual Gettysburg reenactment starts today and runs through Sunday — the same dates as the 1863 battle in which there were some 51,000 combined casualties.
It’s not the first time Brown has attempted to silence that part of American history.
When she saw the Confederate battle flag in an array of historical flags displayed in the Pennsylvania state capitol in mid-June, she tore it down.
Literally.
“That flag represents hatred, murder, and oppression,” she declared after removing it without permission, WGAL reported..."

America's 10 worst states to live in:
6. Michigan
6. Michigan
Michigan is a large and diverse state that touches four of the five Great Lakes. Detroit is a world away from, say, Marquette.
Even so, the Wolverine State as a whole suffers from a myriad of quality-of-life issues.
The violent crime rate is relatively high, and not just in the cities.
High ozone levels hurt air quality.
The legislature recently increased the tourism budget to attract more international visitors.
Based on the most recent figures from the Commerce Department, the money is badly needed.
- 2014 Quality of Life score: 82 points (out of 300)
- Weaknesses: Air quality, crime rate, local attractions
- Strength: Health insurance coverage
- 2013 Quality of Life rank: 43
- 2014 Top States overall rank: 26

'Rape culture hysteria' is based on a 'Big Lie' that qualifies as hate speech: BOOK REVIEW - The College Fix:
"You don’t get funding with the 1-in-50 statistic
“There is no rape culture in North America.”
Thus begins a book by a self-described rape survivor who seeks to expose the “rape culture hysteria that is not based on evidence, statistics or reason.”
Wendy McElroy released the first print edition of Rape Culture Hysteria: Fixing the Damage Done to Men and Women last month.
It was published as an ebook in April.
Calling herself an individualist feminist, the anarchist and co-founder of The Voluntaryist is no stranger to controversy.
Just days before Rolling Stone published its now-debunked article on an alleged gang rape at the University of Virginia, McElroy debated the feminist Jessica Valenti at Brown University on “rape culture.”
The event prompted Brown President Christina Paxson to schedule a competing event so students could learn about the “facts” of sexual assault.
Paxson sent a campuswide email letting everyone know she disagreed with McElroy, who says she was raped as a teenager.
McElroy leaves no stone unturned in her quest to debunk the myths surrounding today’s debates on sexual assault, from the very idea of rape culture to particular manifestations such as the widely cited statistic that 1 in 5 women are raped in college.
...Proponents of the idea of rape culture stick with unsupportable statistics because it advances their agenda and sounds more horrifying than more reliable estimates, McElroy says:
They “repeat the 1-in-4 or 1-in-5 statistic as a mantra because 1-in-50 is 10 times less effective in achieving their goals and maintaining funding...”

Clinton sought secret info on EU bailout plans as son-in-law's doomed hedge fund gambled on Greece
Clinton sought secret info on EU bailout plans as son-in-law's doomed hedge fund gambled on Greece | Fox News:
"Hedge fund manager Marc Mezvinsky had friends in high places when he bet big on a Greek economic recovery, but even the keen interest of his mother-in-law, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, wasn't enough to spare him and his investors from financial tragedy.
In 2012, Mezvinski, the husband of Chelsea Clinton, created a $325 million basket of offshore funds under the Eaglevale Partners banner through a special arrangement with investment bank Goldman Sachs.
The funds have lost tens of millions of dollars predicting that bailouts of the Greek banking system would pump up the value of the country’s distressed bonds.
One fund, exclusively dedicated to Greek debt, suffered near-total losses.
Clinton stepped down as secretary of state in 2013 to run for president.
But newly released emails from 2012 show that she and Clinton Foundation consultant, Sidney Blumenthal, shared classified information about how German leadership viewed the prospects for a Greek bailout. Clinton also shared “protected” State Department information about Greek bonds with her husband at the same time that her son-in-law aimed his hedge fund at Greece.
That America’s top diplomat kept a sharp eye on intelligence assessing the chances of a bailout of the Greek central bank is not a problem.
However, sharing such sensitive information with friends and family would have been highly improper.
Federal regulations prohibit the use of nonpublic information to further private interests or the interests of others. The mere perception of a conflict of interest is unacceptable..."
