If #TacoTrucksOnEveryCorner is Twitter’s cheeky response to a Latino Donald Trump supporter warning about the hegemonic tendencies of his culture, the complementary hashtag for non-Latino whites is #SombrerosIntheCloset.
Latino student activists at Cornell University freaked out when football team’s offensive coordinator, Roy Istvan, tweeted photos of two football players wearing a sombrero – and the school’s official Twitter account retweeted it, The Tab reports:
Posting on the MECha [de Cornell] group, Silvia Treviño and Matthew Indimine expressed disgust at the university for not acting on the incident, and called for “cultural sensitivity training” for the staff involved. …[Treviño said:] “Will you pass a proposition to recommend a faculty/staff diversity and cultural sensitivity training? Or will you just push it under the rug as you did the Cinco de Octubre event? I expect a response to this from the Minority Liaison.”
Ithaca students demand diversity forums, then fail to attend
Ithaca students demand diversity forums, then fail to attend:
"Ithaca College launched a weekly diversity discussion circle in response to last fall’s student demands, but not a single student has attended either of the first two sessions.
Last December, Ithaca students organized a mass walk-out in protest of their president’s involvement with Tompkins Financial Corporation, saying his split leadership roles were compromising his ability to address student concerns.
...One protester at the time even told his school newspaper that “we need the dialogue,” noting that the school is in a situation “where instead of just demanding a person’s resignation, we need to hear both sides and figure out a solution.”
Consequently, the school immediately began organizing a weekly discussion forum called “Diversity and Inclusion Circles” for students to voice their concerns and address last fall’s demands.
Thus far, however, The Ithacan reports that not a single student has attended either of the first two meetings..."

Italy Proposes Law To Make Mocking People Online Illegal
Italy Proposes Law To Make Mocking People Online Illegal | Techdirt:
"...Over in Italy, some officials have proposed what may be one of the dumbest such laws in history, written so broadly that it will outlaw a lot more than the kind of "cyberbullying" it's supposedly intended to combat:
The internet is made for mockery.
And now is the time that everyone should be mocking this idiotic law -- and the politicians who proposed it without having the slightest idea of how such a thing would be abused all the time.
As Cory Doctorow at BoingBoing notes:
"...Over in Italy, some officials have proposed what may be one of the dumbest such laws in history, written so broadly that it will outlaw a lot more than the kind of "cyberbullying" it's supposedly intended to combat:
Under the proposed law, the "site manager" of Italian media, including bloggers, newspapers and social networks would be obliged to censor "mockery" based on "the personal and social condition" of the victim -- that is, anything the recipient felt was personally insulting. The penalty for failing to take action is a fine of €100,000. Truthfulness is not a defense in suits under this law -- the standard is personal insult, not falsehood.Yes, mockery on the internet could get you a €100,000 fine. Mockery. The internet.

The Gun Control Chart Liberals Are Desperately Trying to Hide
The Gun Control Chart Liberals Are Desperately Trying to Hide | The Federalist Papers:
"...It seems that after each national tragedy, the hand-wringers on the left sift through every grain of liberty they can get their hands on, looking for ways to regulate away every natural disaster, bad business decision, and murderous psycho.
Their solution is always more government, more control.
As short-sighted as the call for more gun control is, the call for better background checks and more mental health regulations isn’t much better.
Neither addresses the real problem: freedom.
We can talk about a culture in decline, about the wane of traditional morality, or about the effect of a press that glorifies monsters and ignores heroes, but our political calculus as a society must continue to account for the fact that, as Jeb so neatly summarized it, “stuff happens.”
The reason people ask politicians to respond to tragedies is that they want to know what government should do about them, and conservatives need to stop hiding from the fact that we believe there are problems in this world that government cannot and should not solve.
Acknowledge it. Embrace it. Defend it."

"...Yes, pot is now legal in Colorado.
Even here in Aspen we’re infested with nearly a dozen seedy pot stores.
I’ve wondered, is getting high on pot better than getting high on mountains?
To answer that question, I recently slipped into a Colorado pot shop.
I imagined I was cool.
All hell broke loose.
I thought maybe I’d walked in on a robbery.
But no, it was just reefer madness.
Everyone was shouting.
Toothless customers with long beards and smelly T-shirts scurried about the apocalyptic scene.
Many wore baseball caps backward in that manner that somehow reduces the wearer’s IQ.
...In the inner room was more shouting.
Glass display cases were filled with pot candy, pot cookies, pot brownies, pot gummy bears and pot paraphernalia.
On the other side of a glass case was another brown-toothed shouter, also wearing a dirty T-shirt, beard and IQ-reducer.
I realized that this get-up was their uniform of nonconformity.
“What can I get ya?”
“Pot. On which to smoke.”
The mere anticipation had already impaired my synapses, it seemed, or at least my syntax.
“Well, do ya want something to relax ya, so ya just, like, tune out?
Or do ya want something to give ya a buzz, so ya can, like, work?”
His hands made air quotes when he shouted “work.”
I’ve always preferred relaxing over working, so I choose the first type. The dealer suggested something he called “Ogre Kush.”
He shouted, “How much ya want?”
I shouted back so that I wouldn’t look like an amateur, “One gram!”
For an instant, the place fell silent as several customers glanced and smirked.
A nanosecond later, the cacophony resumed.
...As expected, pot consumption is up since it was legalized in Colorado, along with pot-related automobile accidents and emergency room treatment for toddlers who’ve ingested pot.
(Toddlers usually won’t drink alcohol because it tastes bad to them, but pot candy, pot cookies and pot brownies taste normal.)
Much of the consumption is by heavy users who get very high several times a week.
One in three pot users gets high daily.
Stoners tend to be uneducated and poor.
Maybe it’s their habit that impoverishes them.
At $32 a gram, the 454 grams in a pound would cost $14,498.
It’s almost the price of gold.
Pot legalizers have evidently decided to help the poor by taking away what little money they have and then sedating them.
And lobotomizing them.
A recent study by Northwestern University and Harvard Medical School found that even moderate use of pot is correlated with brain abnormalities..."

Mass immigration costs govt. $296 billion a year: National Academy of Sciences - Washington Times:
"Immigration is a massive drain on the government, with immigrants taking as much as $296 billion more in benefits than they pay in taxes, according to a new authoritative study by the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine, which found the record level of newcomers is straining the country.
The report suggests that migrants depress wages for Americans, at least in the beginning, and particularly hit workers who have to compete for jobs.
And the new arrivals aren’t assimilating as well as past waves of immigrants, struggling to learn English and to raise their wages as quickly as previous migrants, the academy said in a final draft of the report, which The Washington Times obtained.
The reasons for the slowdown in assimilation aren’t clear, but one possibility — particularly when it comes to difficulties learning English — is the heavy presence of Mexican immigrants during the previous two decades, the academy said.
The report, due to be released Thursday afternoon, challenges many of the assumptions concerning how well the U.S. can handle the current levels of immigration, which run about 1 million a year, including both legal and illegal arrivals..."

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is stealing from her poorest supporters by purposefully and repeatedly overcharging them after they make what’s supposed to be a one-time small donation through her official campaign website, multiple sources tell the Observer.
The overcharges are occurring so often that the fraud department at one of the nation’s biggest banks receives up to 100 phone calls a day from Clinton’s small donors asking for refunds for unauthorized charges to their bankcards made by Clinton’s campaign..."

Hoopla of Misinformation
By Tammy Derouin
Life is a continuous learning experience. Every day there is something new to learn. The American people have had the best seats in
the homeland for a re-education of a lifetime. Your front row, center section ticket was
provided to you by the most corrupt, anti-American administration to have won,
not once but twice, the coveted role of leader of the free world.
An education or rather, a re-education, of this magnitude
doesn’t just happen. Years of planning,
plotting and scheming have turned so many independent, resilient, free thinking
individuals into dependent, weak, manipulated victims. Numerous scholarships
have also been made available for the recruitment of blind followers.
These scholarships or incentive programs have become readily
available through entitlement programs and social causes. Each program
is sure to boost the enrollment of blind followers. There is something for everyone, whether you’re
looking for a free ride or someone to blame for your lot in life. Unfortunately, the small print is disregarded
as fools rush to take part in the hoopla of misinformation. Participation in such programs will strip
individuals of their independence and their future ability to think for
themselves. They are willingly shackling
themselves to a new master; the government......
Why are modern women are becoming more aggressive?
Why are modern women are becoming more aggressive?
"For relaxation, Jo Scott loves nothing more than curling up with a good novel.
Attentive to her health, she makes sure she swims regularly and eats well.
Cosy nights in with her beloved partner are sacrosanct.
So seemingly serene is the 51-year-old that she even soothes others in the course of her career as a reiki therapist.
But, like an increasing number of respectable women, Jo has become so consumed by rage that even a simple trip to buy the weekly groceries can lead to frighteningly aggressive outbursts.
Recently, she completely 'lost it' when another driver tried to take the space she wanted in a Tesco car park.
Jo's response was instant, and utterly disproportionate.
'I was there first. So I got out of my car as he approached and shouted: 'F*** you, a*******, I'm staying here until I get this space.'
Jo Scott, 51, from Sussex, has become so consumed by rage that even a simple trip to buy the weekly groceries can lead to frighteningly aggressive outbursts
...Once I'm riled it's as if a switch is pressed and my temper turns me into a completely different person,' says Jo.
'I swear, slam doors, shout and throw things.'
Worryingly, it would seem this is a dangerous trend, seen by many as yet another dark side of equality.
Stories of professional women drinking themselves into ill health, trying to keep up with male colleagues are well documented.
But they are now matching men on the aggression front, too, putting themselves in physical danger — risking their good name, career prospects and relationships.
In 1957, men were responsible for 11 violent offences for every one perpetrated by a woman — today, that is four to one..."

Colorado Drug Warriors Mistakenly Storm Innocent Family's Home
Colorado Drug Warriors Mistakenly Storm Innocent Family's Home - Hit & Run : Reason.com:
"A SWAT team breaks into a home early in the morning based on an informant's tip, expecting to find an armed methamphetamine dealer.
Instead they encounter an innocent family with several young children.
Those were the circumstances in which police in Habersham County, Georgia, nearly killed a toddler with an errant flashbang grenade in 2014, leading to a lawsuit that was eventually settled for $3.6 million.
Something similar happened last week in Mesa County, Colorado.
This time no one was injured or killed, although things easily could have turned out differently.
Around 11:30 p.m. last Tuesday night, the Western Colorado Drug Task Force, which includes representatives from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) and the Grand Junction Police Department (GJPD), received a tip from an informant who claimed cops would find a stash of methamphetamine and guns at an apartment in the Coronado Villas complex in Clifton.
The tip apparently was the sole basis for the warrant that 15 to 20 officers served around 5:30 a.m. the next morning.
"Upon initial contact at the residence," the MCSO and GJPDO say in a press release, "officers received no answer at the door."
That's hardly surprising, given the early hour.
Cops routinely conduct drug raids when people are sleeping, the better to discombobulate their targets, and then use the residents' failure to promptly answer the door as an excuse to break it down, which only magnifies the chances of a violent encounter.
"As is standard protocol when probable cause has been developed that illegal or dangerous activity is occurring, and armed with the signed search warrant, officers forced entry into the home, using a breaching tool," the press release says.
"During entry into the residence, several windows of the home were broken."
Fortunately, the cops did not toss any flashbangs while entering the house, but they terrified the occupants, who included five children ranging in age from 3 to 12.
"Ultimately," the cops say, "officers contacted the residents inside the address, and determined that they were not the suspects that officers were looking for."
The phrase "contacted the residents" is an anodyne description of a much scarier reality.
"Waking up to guns in my face, I consider that the beginning," the father of the family, Sean Armas, told KJCT, the ABC station in Grand Junction.
"That's how it was, all my kids had guns on them.
It was out of line....It's a dangerous situation they put my family in, and for my kids, it just keeps playing through their minds."
The police say "further investigation determined that the suspects named by the original reporting party had lived at the address at one time, but had since moved away from the address, which was now occupied by a family with several children."
The press release is notably vague on the timing of the change in occupancy, but The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper in Grand Junction, reports that "the family told law enforcement they had been living at the home since October."
In other words, the informant's tip was at least a year out of date, assuming that it was not invented out of whole cloth..."

NY & NJ Bombings Show Islamic Terrorist Ideology Must Be Confronted | National Review:
"In a rational world, where our highest imperative would be to understand the threat that confronts us rather than to find the least offensive way of describing it, it would be patently, undeniably obvious that we are targets of international terrorism fueled by Islamic supremacist ideology. Nevertheless, the political class can only bring itself to say this kicking and screaming, and only if there is no other plausible alternative — which basically means a terrorist caught in the act while wearing an ISIS T-shirt.
That is because Islamic supremacism is a mainstream interpretation of Islam"

Disgusting! CNN Adds the Word "Racial" to Trump's Quote to Smear Him...:
"CNN smeared Donald Trump today by quoting him as saying “Racial Profiling” will stop terror.
Trump never said this.
But since when did the truth matter to the liberal media?

A Reader Notices That When Somali Stabbing Culture Met Native American Gun Culture, It Lost
A Reader Notices That When Somali Stabbing Culture Met Native American Gun Culture, It Lost | VDARE - premier news outlet for patriotic immigration reform:
"On Saturday night in a mall in St. Cloud, MN, when a Somali Muslim terrorist stabbed ten people, he was shot to death by an off-duty policeman.
He shouted “Allah” and asked at least one victim if he was a Muslim before trying to murder him. ISIS is hailing the attack and martyr.
Imagine the carnage and number of victims, at least some of whom would have been killed and gravely wounded, if not for a man with a gun.
James Fulford writes;
The guy who shot the Somali, saving a number of people from being stabbed, is a part-time police officer who is active in training private citizens to defend themselves with licensed firearms: he’s not just an “off-duty police officer”, he’s a full fledged member of the American “gun culture”.
'''USPSA Shooter, 3-Gunner, and NRA-certified firearms instructor Jason Falconer has been identified as the man who shot and killed a 22-year-old Somali immigrant who went on a stabbing rampage inside a St. Cloud, (MN) Mall on Saturday.
...Falconer is the president and owner of Tactical Advantage LLC, a shooting range and tactical training facility with a strong focus on arming concealed carriers.
He’s also a former chief of the Albany (MN) police department, and he remains a part-time officer.
But Falconer has consistently been identified in the mainstream media only as as a “former police chief” and “off-duty police officer.”
It’s almost as if the media is attempting to cover up the fact that creating and training armed citizens is a major part of the man who took out the terrorist in a MN mall this weekend.
Jason Falconer isn’t some marginally-trained big-city patrol officer with just a basic grasp of using his department-issued firearm.
He’s a firearms instructor passionate about training concealed carriers and developing the best-possible, most-realistic training for his clients.
He’s part of the reason why concealed carry continues to surge in popularity, with more than 14 million Americans now choosing to carry some or part of the time.
While Mr. Falconer happened to be the armed citizen who stopped the wannabe mass killer before he could take a life, it just as easily could have been one of his students.
It just as easily could have been one of you."

Up to 600,000 gallons of sewage overflow into Huron River in Ann Arbor | MLive.com:
"ANN ARBOR, MI – Ann Arbor officials estimate up to 600,000 gallons of sewage reached the Huron River during another overflow event.
A sanitary sewer overflow was discovered in a construction area on Geddes Avenue near the entrance to Gallup Park at about 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19.
The city issued a press release about the incident at about 5 p.m. Monday, saying the cause of the overflow was determined to be construction debris that had accumulated in a sanitary sewer pipe, blocking flow.
City officials said the blockage was immediately removed and flow restored.
They believe the overflow occurred sometime between 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, and 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19.
...The city reported two other sewage overflows earlier this year, including one near Bird Hills Nature Area where an estimated 36,000 gallons of sewage flowed over land to an unnamed tributary of the Huron River over a period of 60 hours, and another that sent an estimated 400,000 gallons of raw sewage flowing into Malletts Creek over a two-week period."

Red Cross Built Exactly 6 Homes For Haiti With Nearly Half A Billion Dollars In Donations
Red Cross Built Exactly 6 Homes For Haiti With Nearly Half A Billion Dollars In Donations | Huffington Post:
"The neighborhood of Campeche sprawls up a steep hillside in Haiti’s capital city, Port-au-Prince. Goats rustle in trash that goes forever uncollected. Children kick a deflated volleyball in a dusty lot below a wall with a hand-painted the logo of the American Red Cross.
In late 2011, the Red Cross launched a multimillion-dollar project to transform the desperately poor area, which was hit hard by the earthquake that struck Haiti the year before.
The main focus of the project — called LAMIKA, an acronym in Creole for “A Better Life in My Neighborhood” — was building hundreds of permanent homes.
Today, not one home has been built in Campeche.
...The Red Cross received an outpouring of donations after the quake, nearly half a billion dollars.
The group has publicly celebrated its work.
But in fact, the Red Cross has repeatedly failed on the ground in Haiti.
Confidential memos, emails from worried top officers, and accounts of a dozen frustrated and disappointed insiders show the charity has broken promises, squandered donations, and made dubious claims of success.
The Red Cross says it has provided homes to more than 130,000 people.
But the actual number of permanent homes the group has built in all of Haiti: six..."

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Praises National Anthem Protests
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Praises National Anthem Protests | PJ Media:
"NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the football league will encourage its millionaire players to promote social change like San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick did when he refused to stand for the national anthem.
Goodell was speaking before the Minnesota Vikings played their first game in their new taxpayer-funded stadium.
He said that "protests to progress" was a good sign from the league players.
“As I’ve said before, I truly respect our players wanting to speak out and change the community,” Goodell said.
“We don’t live in a perfect society. We want them to use that voice. And they’re moving from protests to progress and trying to make things happen in the communities. And I admire that about our players, (being) willing to do that."...
