Texas Gov: Sanctuary Campuses Will Lose State Funding | The Daily Caller:
"Texas Gov. Greg Abbot says the state will cut off funding to any public school that declares itself a “sanctuary campus” for illegal immigrants.
Abbot made the announcement Thursday via Twitter, in response to a petition effort in the state by students seeking to have their universities protect illegal immigrants. Abbott made it clear such a move wouldn’t fly in Texas."

In it she discusses astroturf groups, the fake grass roots movements funded from above in order to influence media coverage of a political issue.
It is a bit over 10 minutes, not an outrageous investment of your time compared to the valuable information it provides.

CONGRESSMAN LAMAR SMITH: “The non-partisan Energy Information Administration at the Department of Energy has found that the Clean Power Plan will reduce economic growth, increase electricity costs, and result in almost 400,000 jobs lost over the next 15 years; and all this is with very little impact on climate change itself.

Watch: Eric Bolling slams Democrats for blaming their election loss on ‘sexism’ and ‘racism’ – TheBlaze:
"He added that Clinton had many clear advantages over Trump including money, polls, the media and the electoral map, but Trump was able to still come away with a decisive victory, including winning many of the counties and states that President Barack Obama won in 2008 and 2012.
But there was one message of Clinton’s that did resonate with voters, Bolling contended: when she called half of Trump’s supporters a “basket of deplorables.”
“That comment hit home, but to the wrong group."

5 Reasons Barack Obama Will Be Viewed As One Of The Worst Presidents of All Time - John Hawkins:
"Compiling a list of reasons why Barack Obama is a terrible president seems like a project for a book rather than a column.
However, when we start looking at the catastrophic mistakes he’s made that may reverberate for years to come, it’s clear that he’s been a disaster for America on a scale that few other Presidents can match. Just look at his record.
1) Nearly Doubling The National Debt...
2) Unleashing The Genie From The Nuclear Weapons Bottle In The Middle East...
3) Facilitating Illegal Immigration...
4) Encouraging Racial Polarization...

Laughing At Liberals As They Lose Their Minds
Laughing At Liberals As They Lose Their Minds - Kurt Schlichter:
"I reached peak Twitter this week when I was sucked into a tweet battle with a liberal dwarf.
True story.
Donald Trump’s victory had the militant munchkin fuming.
I have to admit that I was a little short with her myself.
But I should be smiling – we conservatives should all be smiling – because everything is going our way.
For heaven’s sake, our next Secretary of Defense is going to be nicknamed “Mad Dog.”
We just spent eight years being ruled by people who would prefer it be someone nicknamed “Hugs N’ Stuff.”
The liberals are truly going nuts, and it’s beautiful.
They recently resurrected Nancy Pelosi for another glorious term winnowing away the House Democrat caucus.
Pretty soon it’s just going to be her and some guy representing Berkeley who they recruited while he was shouting “Workers of the world unite!” at bored coeds on Telegraph Avenue.
You know, if you want to reach out to the kind of hard-working, salt-of-the-earth, normal Americans who voted for the black guy then allegedly refused to vote for the woman because they are racist, you totally want an ancient, rich, snooty, San Francisco leftist and Botox after-picture like the Nanster.
The only way you could further alienate these alienated voters is, I don’t know, making your DNC chairman some radical leftist, urban black Muslim who hates guns, loves Farrakhan and who parties with Middle Eastern scumbags who issue fatwas to kill those voters’ soldier sons and daughters.
...Yes, we are living in wonderful times.
Democrats are out of power, the media has been neutered – hell, it could play Ken – and the liberal cultural institutions are talking themselves into ritual suicide.
Now, all I have to do to bring it full circle is to get back on Twitter and get caught up in a spat with a socialist gnome or some transitioning elf."

Mike Rowe responds to critical fan: Our American flag is more than a ‘mere symbol’ – TheBlaze:
"“The thing about ‘mere symbols’ Susanne, is that they represent ‘mere ideas,’ and ‘mere ideas’ are the backbone of ‘mere humanity.’ In the case of the flag, we’re talking about ideas that are wrapped into the Constitution – a document that separates us from every other country on the planet,” Rowe added.
Those ideas, Rowe wrote, are the reason people “fight and die” and have many of the rights Americans get to enjoy, like free speech, carry guns and desecrate symbols that represent those freedoms."

Trump is FDR with the fireside tweet
Trump is FDR with the fireside tweet: Glenn Reynolds
"Democrats think caring means a government program.
Trump thinks caring is getting to keep your job, just as he promised.
President Clinton said, “I feel your pain.”
President Franklin Roosevelt had "fireside chats.”
And now President-elect Donald Trump is reaching out to forgotten Americans with a message that he cares about their problems, and wants to help.
This could be the Democrats’ worst nightmare.
As Walter Russell Mead notes in The American Interest, it’s an old style of politicking that more recent politicos seem to have forgotten.
Trump’s Carrier event saved only a tiny fraction of jobs that are being lost around the country, and it might not make much difference in the long run, but that wasn’t the point.
The point was “that the people at the top are aware of the problems of the people at the bottom," Mead writes.
"It’s smart governance, but it’s something that the technocratic progressive mind tends to undervalue.”
...Trump, by contrast, promised to save Carrier jobs during the campaign and then, even though Obama mocked him for it at the PBS town hall (“What are you going to do? ... What magic wand do you have?”)
Trump then went ahead and delivered.
A conspicuously kept campaign promise that benefits the little guy sends a signal of caring that talk of macroeconomics does not.
FDR knew this.
His New Deal economic policies were mostly snake oil — according to a study by UCLA economists, they actually prolonged the Great Depression by seven years.
But FDR made people feel like he cared, even though he was a rich man from New York who had never been poor himself.
Now another rich man from New York seems to be repeating the formula.
FDR gave the Democrats two decades of political dominance.
Today’s Democrats should be worrying that Trump could do the same for the Republican Party."

Wind turbines generating regret; $100,000 turbines to create $1.50 in electricity monthly
Wind turbines generating regret; $100,000 turbines to create $1.50 in electricity monthly - Peninsula Daily News:
PORT ANGELES — Three windmill-like turbines loom motionless over the city of Port Angeles’ new Waterfront Park.
The $107,516 spires stand immobile more than two months after they were erected and more than a year after the city council approved them.
Once they are working to generate electricity, they will produce so little power — $1.50 worth of electricity a month in savings — that at least one council member is regretting her decision to purchase them.
...“By implementing the latest in wind energy technology, the city would set a trend in alternative energy innovation that sets a positive example and speaks to the city wanting to be part of state-of-the-art alternative energy technology.
“Collectively the park is intended to inspire community pride, enjoyment, and a vibrancy that for many years Port Angeles had been without.”
The park was mostly grant-funded, West added.

End of the EU?-----Angela Merkel: False Prophet of Europe
Angela Merkel: False Prophet of Europe:
- With his initiative for tighter gun laws, to prevent weapons getting into "the wrong hands," Justice Minister Maas does not mean to target the Islamists who pose an existential threat to Germany, but an obscure German group called the "Reichsbürger."
- As the German newspaper Bild describes the law proposed by Maas, "a 13-year-old child bride would have to testify against her husband, saying that her well-being as a child is under threat. If neither the child nor the Child Welfare Service lodges a complaint, for all practical purposes the marriage would be declared legitimate." This law clearly does not take into account the possibility of private coercion against a child, let alone the blinding likelihood of outright threats.
- Justice Minister Maas evidently cares more about "gender image" than he cares about truly oppressed women and vulnerable children. In a recently drafted new law by his ministry, Mass refused to ban child marriage.
- With both France and Germany going to polls next year, there is the possibility of a democratic, peaceful "European Spring."

Cheney had a few really funny lines but the one about the press was hysterical.
Here;s a transcript via Real Clear Politics:
CHENEY: "I think he needs to be careful but he’ll learn as he goes along. I think he is putting some brains and good people with him. I am a big fan of Mike Pence. I know Mike well from his 12 years in the House and I think he’s a great choice as Vice President. He’s going to play a major role. I think Mr. Trump is taking very, very seriously the job that he has gotten now. Staffing up the administration. I think one of the reasons people get so concerned about the tweets is it is sort of a way around the press. He doesn’t have to rely upon, uh, rely upon — this is the modern era, modern technology. He’s at the point where we don’t need you guys anymore. [Laughter] CHENEY: I apologize.

Bowe Bergdahl wants a pardon — just not from Trump – TheBlaze:
"Disgraced Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has written a letter to President Barack Obama pleading with him for a pardon before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

HARVARD PUTS MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ON ATHLETIC PROBATION
News from The Associated Press:
"BOSTON (AP) -- Harvard University has placed its men's cross country team on athletic probation after school lawyers found that the 2014 team made "crude and sexualized" documents about the women's cross country team.
Harvard Athletic Director Robert Scalise sent an email to team members Friday night.
He says no problems were found with the current team and they've been truthful and forthright about shortcomings in the team's culture.
Probation means the runners' behavior will be monitored.
Scalise had asked for an investigation after The Harvard Crimson student newspaper reported that the men's team produced yearly spreadsheets about the women's team, sometimes rating appearances and making lewd comments.
Harvard canceled its men's soccer season this fall after finding that soccer players created a similar document with sexually explicit comments about women's soccer players."

Comey’s FBI Needs to Investigate Violent Democratic Tantrums
Comey’s FBI Needs to Investigate Violent Democratic Tantrums | Observer:
"It’s time for the FBI to conduct a detailed investigation into the violence and political thuggery that continue to mar the presidential election’s aftermath.
A thorough probe of the protests—to include possible ties to organizations demanding vote recounts—will give the Bureau’s integrity-challenged director, James Comey, a chance to sandblast his sullied badge.
Director Comey must also include “elector intimidation” on his post-election investigation list. Reports that members of the Electoral College are being harassed and threatened by angry, vicious (and likely Democratic Party) malcontents require Comey’s quick and systematic attention.
Michael Banerian, one of Michigan’s 16 electors, told CNN:
“Obviously, this election cycle was pretty divisive. Unfortunately it’s bled over into the weeks following the election and I have been inundated with death threats, death wishes, generally angry messages trying to get me to change my vote to Hillary Clinton or another person, and unfortunately, it’s gotten a little out of control.”
A little out of control?
What an understatement.
Let me put it to you straight and personal, Jim. Identifying electors and then attempting to intimidate them into switching their votes is an ipso facto effort to overturn a national election.
...Which leads to a question a competent FBI Director would already have his agents asking:
Is this elector threat scheme a coordinated operation?
Which takes us back to the violent protests and political thuggery.
Let me introduce you to two vicious Democratic Party operatives FBI agents should have quizzed and collared two months ago: Robert Creamer and The Hideous Scott Foval.
These two creeps starred in Project Veritas’ video investigation of violent incitement during the political campaign.
Note this column called Creamer a political terrorist.
The charge is legitimate. “Bottles and baseball bats are not Al Qaeda’s high explosives—but they incite fear and when they crack heads they cause casualties. People bleed. Street thuggery as an arm of politics is violent, criminalized politics on an ugly downward slope to much worse, the worse including lynchings and pogroms. If you don’t think street thuggery is terror then consider Kristalnacht.”...
Read on.
Someone has to investigate these many outrages!

Someone has to investigate these many outrages!

BuzzFeed’s Attack on Chip and Joanna Gaines Backfires
"Bullying Christians may be a favorite strategy of the left—but it’s not necessarily an effective one.
Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV’s popular show “Fixer Upper” may be sending that message without ever opening their mouths.

In what can only be described as a politically motivated witch hunt, BuzzFeed posted a non-story about how the fan favorites attend a church where it’s apparently news that the pastor preaches straight out of the Bible.
In her hit piece (disguised as journalism), author Kate Aurthur implies that Chip and Joanna may be hateful people for attending a church that has the nerve to believe what Scripture says:

So are the Gaineses against same-sex marriage? And would they ever feature a same-sex couple on the show, as have HGTV’s ‘House Hunters’ and ‘Property Brothers?’ Emails to Brock Murphy, the public relations director at their company, Magnolia, were not returned.
Not surprisingly, Aurthur’s piece got instant attention—not much of it good. BuzzFeed readers are angry that the site is trying to destroy a couple that many consider the best duo on HGTV.
Even The Washington Post, hardly an ally of Christian conservatives, piled on, posting an op-ed from gay columnist Brandon Ambrosino called “BuzzFeed’s Hit Piece on Chip and Joanna Gaines Is Dangerous.”
In it, he talks about the important message of the election, which is that “gotcha” stories like this only reinforce people’s negative opinion of the press.

[This story] validates everything that President-elect Donald Trump’s supporters have been saying about the media: that some journalists—specifically younger ones at popular digital publications—will tell stories in certain deceitful, manipulative ways to take down conservatives. (And really, I can’t for the life of me imagine any other intention of the Gaines story.) … The old strategy of journalists shaming ‘hicks’ is not going to work anymore…
As for Chip and Joanna, most people agree with Ambrosino, who argues, “I do not think these conservatives should be shamed or mocked. I do not think they should be fired. And I certainly do not think they should be the butt of a popular BuzzFeed article.”
