Employment Boom: 10 Companies That Have Promised To Add Jobs In The United States Since Trump Was Elected:
One of the primary things that Trump’s presidency will be judged upon is his ability to encourage the creation of good paying jobs for American workers, and so far the results have been quite promising.
Since Trump’s surprise election victory in November, a whole bunch of companies have either promised to bring jobs back into the country or have pledged to create new ones.
Ultimately time will tell if those jobs actually materialize, but for the moment there is a tremendous amount of optimism in the air.
In fact, I don’t know if we have ever seen anything quite like this at the beginning of a new presidency.
The following are 10 companies that have promised to add jobs in the United States since the election of Donald Trump…

#1 Kroger says that it intends to fill 10,000 permanent positions in the United States this year.

#2 IBM has announced that it will be hiring an additional 25,000 workers in the United States over the next four years.

#3 Foxconn is considering setting up a 7 billion dollar plant in the United States that would create between 30,000 and 50,000 jobs.

#4 Amazon.com has pledged to add 100,000 full-time jobs in the United States by mid-2018.

#5 Wal-Mart has announced that it plans to add approximately 10,000 retail jobs in the United States in 2017.

#6 Sprint has announced that 5,000 jobs will be brought back to the United States instead of going overseas.

#7 After meeting with Trump, the CEO of SoftBank stated his intention to create 50,000 new jobs in the United States.

#8 After a phone call from Trump, industrial manufacturing giant Carrier promised to keep hundreds of jobs in the United States instead of moving them out of the country.

#9 Hyundai has promised to spend 3.1 billion dollars supporting their current factories in Georgia and Alabama, and they have said that they are now considering adding an additional factory in the United States as well.

#10 GM has pledged to invest a billion dollars in U.S. factories and to add or keep 7,000 jobs in the United States.

...Over the past several decades, formerly great manufacturing cities such as Detroit have been reduced to urban hellholes.
Meanwhile, China has become exceedingly wealthy and gleaming new factories have sprouted like mushrooms in their major cities.

This didn’t happen by accident.

Bad decisions lead to bad results.
And if we had kept on doing the same things, we would have continued to systematically impoverish our nation.

For more than seven years, I have been hammering home the message that our trade policies have been absolutely killing us.
So I am quite thankful that we finally have a president that understands these things..."

As I had to admit to myself that I had never seen anything like this before, I started to search for answers.
I couldn’t help but wonder, and I am not using hyperbole, if drugs could be one of the many factors that could help to explain, at least in part, some of these activities.
Drug use within the entertainment industry and the mindless plebeians who worship them is well known.
No news there, but what about the overwhelmingly liberal academia or media?
I suspect that drugs could be playing a significant role, especially among those susceptible to the pressures of “publish or perish” or like pressures..."

Perhaps one reason that Saudi Arabia is happy to pay for “maternity leave” is because they bribe their citizens not to rebel against the autocratic regime through massive welfare payments; perhaps another reason is because the government wants to encourage women to stay home rather than working.

In Saudi Arabia, as The Week reports, women can’t get a passport without the permission of a husband, father, or other male guardian; most Saudi women can’t drive; Saudi women are prevented from wearing attractive clothing; go to public areas that are non-segregated; or even try on clothes at stores.
This is just another piece of evidence that a government big enough to give you goodies is big enough to take away rights.

And it turns out that people who think that Saudi Arabia’s maternity policies rather than their restrictions on female driving probably shouldn’t be a guide to female freedom in the United States.

But the left would prefer not to focus on such matters, since that would obligate them to favor Westernism rather than multiculturalism abroad and at home."

I have been in Washington DC for the last three days. The ostensible reason was to participate in a board meeting of a public company, Ashford Inc. (AINC). We manage hotel REITs that own three hotels here in DC, and the group decided to move our board meeting up a few weeks and hold it in DC during the inauguration. That gave me the opportunity to set up a few meetings to try to gain some insight into what the first 100 days, the first six months, and the first year of the Trump administration might look like.

This is going to be a short letter summarizing my impressions from the last few days.
I think it might be easiest to present them in the form of a list.

1. If you listen to the media you might have the impression that the Trump transition team is in complete disarray. Talking with leaders of the transition team certainly didn’t leave me with that impression...

2. There seem to be two general types of agency plans.

First, there are those where the culture of the department has to be changed, and then are those where the current staff seems to be doing its job but the culture surrounding the department has to be dealt with. Those are entirely different issues. The first can be handled to some degree by the executive branch, but the latter needs to be dealt with by congressional action.

3. Trump’s management style is going to drive the media (and admittedly, much of the country and the world) nuts...

I have met three types of people here in Washington DC.

There are the Trump supporters, who seem to be wildly optimistic.
On the other hand, as I look out my window here at the Capital Hilton, I see hundreds if not thousands of protesters walking by wearing little pink hats, and they are decidedly not happy.
The third group is much smaller and consists of those who are actually aware of the amount of work that is going to have to be done and who recognize what a daunting task it will be..."
