How to tell the difference between Trump and Obama's refugee EOs? Trump actually follows the law:
"It didn’t take long for liberals to make a moral, legal, and philosophical equivalent between Trump’s executive order protecting national sovereignty and security and Obama’s executive amnesty shredding Congress’ plenary power over immigration.
The arguments go something like this:
Well, why was it a problem when Obama took executive action on immigration and not Trump?
If it were OK for a district judge to put a restraining order on Obama’s executive amnesty, why can’t a district judge put an injunction on Trump’s?
The answer is very simple: statute, the Constitution, and national sovereignty. It’s a difference between night and day."

Quotation of the day on 'Trump Trauma'...........
Quotation of the day on 'Trump Trauma'........... - AEI | Carpe Diem Blog » AEIdeas:
…. is from Joseph Epstein writing in today’s Wall Street Journal (“At the Trump Trauma Center, Nobody Comes for Treatment: A sickness that makes sufferers feel terribly good about themselves“):
The hatred of those who oppose Donald Trump makes the old liberal detestation of Richard Nixon seem quaint. Even if Mr. Trump were to succeed in returning vast numbers of jobs to America, in getting illegal immigration under reasonable control, in improving the nightmare of life in the inner-city black neighborhoods, in defeating Islamic State, the anti-Trumpers would not be likely to let up.Trump Trauma is a disease with a known cause but no known cure. But Trump Traumatics don’t want treatment. The condition makes those in its grip feel terribly good about themselves, on the right side of things, above all filled with virtue. Like jogging, treadmills, triathlons, Trump Trauma stimulates the release of endorphins. Hard to find all that at such low cost anywhere else.
Serial Killers Should Fear This Algorithm
Serial Killers Should Fear This Algorithm - Bloomberg:
"On Aug. 18, 2010, a police lieutenant in Gary, Ind., received an e-mail, the subject line of which would be right at home in the first few scenes of a David Fincher movie:
“Could there be a serial killer active in the Gary area?”
It isn’t clear what the lieutenant did with that e-mail; it would be understandable if he waved it off as a prank.
But the author could not have been more serious.
He’d attached source material—spreadsheets created from FBI files showing that over several years the city of Gary had recorded 14 unsolved murders of women between the ages of 20 and 50.
The cause of each death was the same: strangulation.
Compared with statistics from around the country, he wrote, the number of similar killings in Gary was far greater than the norm.
So many people dying the same way in the same city—wouldn’t that suggest that at least a few of them, maybe more, might be connected?
And that the killer might still be at large?
The police lieutenant never replied.
Twelve days later, the police chief, Gary Carter, received a similar e-mail from the same person.
This message added a few details.
Several of the women were strangled in their homes.
In at least two cases, a fire was set after the murder.
In more recent cases, several women were found strangled in or around abandoned buildings.
Wasn’t all of this, the writer asked, at least worth a look?
The Gary police never responded to that e-mail, either, or to two follow-up letters sent via registered mail.
No one from the department has commented publicly about what was sent to them—nor would anyone comment for this story.
“It was the most frustrating experience of my professional life,” says the author of those messages, a 61-year-old retired news reporter from Virginia named Thomas Hargrove..."

EU faces crisis as IMF warns Greek debts are on ‘explosive’ path
"The EU faces a looming crisis which could threaten the sustainability of the eurozone as the International Monetary Fund has warned Greece’s debts are on an “explosive” path, despite years of attempted austerity and economic reforms.
Global financiers at the IMF are increasingly unwilling to fund endless bailouts for the eurozone’s most troubled country, passing more of the burden onto the EU – at a time when Germany does not want to keep sending cash to Athens.
...Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the Eurogroup President repeated that position on Tuesday, saying there would be no Greek debt forgiveness and dismissing the IMF assessment of Greece’s growth prospects as overly pessimistic..."

Virgil: The Left Whips Up a Climate of Violence -- the Prime Target Is Donald Trump:
"1. Target: Trump
Is there a media-driven “climate of violence”? You bet there is, and it’s being whipped up by the left and the Main Stream Media, here and around the world. And it has a clear purpose: The ultimate goal is the destruction of the Trump presidency—and, for at least some, seemingly, the goal is the assassination of President Trump himself.
But don’t take Virgil’s word for it: Have a look at the cover of Village magazine. That cover shows a rifle’s crosshairs superimposed on a photograph of Trump’s head. And the headline reads, “Why not.” "

U.S. Army: 95 Percent of Brigade Combat Teams Unprepared to Fight:

"WASHINGTON — Only three of the 58 U.S. Army Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs) are capable of immediately joining the fight in the event of a major conflict, Gen. Daniel Allyn, vice chief of staff of the Army, told lawmakers.
According to the general, about one-third of the 58 BCTs in the Army, the largest U.S. military branch, are deemed ready, but “only three” of those “could be called upon to fight tonight in the event of a crisis.”
The rest would require about 30 days to prepare.
That means only about five percent of brigade combat teams are ready to engage in immediate combat in the event of a major conflict..."

Michigan Taxpayers Don’t Need to Spend $4 Billion Annually on Infrastructure
Michigan Taxpayers Don’t Need to Spend $4 Billion Annually on Infrastructure [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"Michigan’s 21st Century Infrastructure Commission recently came out with a report that made 107 recommendations to improve the state’s telecommunications networks, energy, transportation, drinking water and sewers.
Media and state pundits jumped on it, claiming it says that Michigan needs $4 billion each year in additional infrastructure spending.
But that’s not exactly what the report actually says.
The bulk of the report’s recommendations center around improving the management of existing infrastructure.
There are 74 recommendations that will not require new spending,..
...When spending is called for in the report, it is often for projects that aren’t really infrastructure.
For example, it asks for $20 million annually to “promote Michigan as the focal point of the global intelligent vehicle industry.”
...Other parts of the report are objectionable.
It says that the state has targeted itself to produce 30 percent of its energy from renewable sources. That’s odd considering that voters rejected a proposal to increase this mandate to 25 percent in 2012 by a margin of 62-38..."

"Fauxcahontas Finishes Her Slanderous Statement on Facebook After She’s Told To Shut Her Peyotehole,
Shoots Herself In The Moccasin By Unknowingly Confirming Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Possibly Supreme Court Justice Nominee Neil Gorsuch
In a fruitless quest to make herself relevant and extend her fading 15 minutes of fame, Elizabeth Warren just confirmed Supreme Court Justice nominee Gorsuch and wasn't even aware of it. Warren was gagged by Turtle McConnell on the floor of Senate for violating the rules when she went on tirade by attacking Jeff Sessions using a rule design to end debate, called Rule 19.
...So, angry opportunist Warren took to Facebook late Tuesday night to finish delivering her rambling speech after being formally silenced on the Senate floor for quoting Coretta Scott King during her criticism of President Trump’s nominee for attorney general, Jeff Sessions. http://www.foxnews.com/…/warren-finds-voice-support-after-f…
McConnell using Rule 19 was more than just a way to shut down angry, hate-filled democrat Senators who are being disrespectful to colleagues, as Elizabeth Warren learned Tuesday.

It’s a way to keep debate without invoking the nuclear option.
Rule XIX of the Standing Rules of the Senate plainly states that on any given question, a senator may speak only twice on the same legislative day.
This clause is known in Senate parlance as the two-speech rule.
No senator may speak more than two times on the same matter on the same legislative day.
The two speech rule, is a way to stop continuous filibusters which can stop Senate business..."Very interesting!
