Republican woman barred from Women's Conference over her 'values'

Republican woman barred from Women's Conference over her 'values':

  • The president of the University of California, Irvine College Republicans was denied access to the UC Women’s Caucus Leadership Conference because she wasn’t there for “the right reasons.”
  • Student government president Tracy La repeatedly refused to admit Ariana Rowlands because she was apparently "not here for the right reasons" and because "I don't like the values that you have."

  • The president of the University of California, Irvine College Republicans was denied access to the UC Women’s Caucus Leadership Conference because she wasn’t there for “the right reasons.”
The conference is hosted jointly by the Associated Students of UCI and Associated Graduate Students, and is described as “a political coalition that serves to represent the gender needs and interests of women, trans individuals, and allies across the UC system” by exploring topics such as “women in politics,” “erasing the glass ceiling effect in the workplace,” “health relationships/domestic violence,” and more.
“I don’t like the person you are, and I don’t like the values that you have.”
Registration was offered to interested students free of charge, and CR President Ariana Rowlands felt it was important for her to attend, given her status as the only female leader of a political organization on campus.
In a video obtained by Campus Reform, Rowlands is seen attempting to obtain a name badge so she can attend the event. When Rowlands requests one from student government President Tracy La, who is passing out the name badges, La declines her request, prompting Rowlands to point out that a friend, who does not attend UC Irvine and did not register for the event, received a name badge just before Rowlands requested one..."

Monopolies Are Worse Than We Thought

Monopolies Are Worse Than We Thought - Bloomberg View
"Economists are increasingly turning their attention to the problem of monopoly.
This doesn’t mean literal monopoly, like when one utility company provides all the power in a city.
Image result for monopolys badIt refers to market concentration in general -- when an industry goes from having 20 players to having only 10, or when the four biggest companies in an industry start taking a bigger and bigger share of sales.
This sort of creeping oligopoly acts much like a literal monopoly -- it raises prices, limits market size and tends to make the economy less efficient.
There’s now evidence that market concentration could also be hurting workers, by decreasing the share of national income that they receive.
    It’s probably making inequality worse
I also suspect that creeping monopoly will prove to be one of the main reasons for decreasing business dynamism.
And it could even be a contributor to slow productivity growth.
In other words, many of the diseases in our economy can probably be traced, at least in part, to the problem of market concentration.
    And it’s getting worse:..."

What American courts should learn from Germany’s immigration reversal

What American courts should learn from Germany’s immigration reversal:

"At the behest of German voters, the European country’s suicidal open-door immigration policies finally appear to be coming to a close. While the lesson is primarily one for policymakers in Berlin, American counterparts – especially in the federal judiciary – should take notice."

CIA broke the law to take out its critic General Flynn

Blog: CIA broke the law to take out its critic General Flynn
"Make no mistake: we have just witnessed an operation by members of the CIA to take out a high official of our own government.
An agency widely believed to have brought down democratically elected governments overseas is now practicing the same dark arts in domestic American politics.
Almost certainly, its new head, Mike Pompeo, was not consulted.
Senator Chuck Schumer, of all people, laid out on January 2 what was going to happen to the Trump administration if it dared take on the deep state – the permanent bureaucracy that has contempt for the will of the voters and feels entitled to run the government for its own benefit:
Image result for deep stateNew Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Tuesday that President-elect Donald Trump is "being really dumb" by taking on the intelligence community and its assessments on Russia's cyber activities...
Or, as the old rueful saying has it, "you've got to go along to get along."
This means that we the people had better acknowledge that the bureaucrats have turned into our masters, and the old expression "public servant" is as ironic as anything Orwell came up with.
Schumer knows this and likes it, because the deep state wants a bigger, more powerful government, just as he does.
Note that the law was broken by whoever leaked the transcripts to the media.
Not only is the crime underlying the "scandal" being ignored, but the criminals are being hailed.
On Morning Joe's first hour today, the host, a former congressman (i.e., a lawmaker) himself, called the leakers "heroes."...

    Under Siege

    By Tammy Derouin

After eight long years of neglect, the security of the American people and the homeland are once again the focus of the White House. The United States was under siege by an administration which put the feelings and false rights of illegal aliens and our enemies above the citizens. We witnessed, in disbelief, as individuals were being ushered into our land without questions or background checks. It makes you wonder about long term consequences for such criminal actions.

Every president takes an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the U.S. Constitution. How does one president get away with not upholding the law while his successor is demonized for doing his sworn duty? Why are threats of impeachment and calls for the assassination of President Trump being glorified? Clearly, the Democratic Party, the party which claims to be a party of tolerance, would not condone such behavior if Obama or Clinton were the target of such vicious, vile acts.

We now have an administration which wants to uphold the law. The President of the United States enacted an executive order to enforce national security. Let's think about the brilliance of the executive order. It puts a temporary hold on individuals traveling to the U.S. who are departing from some of the most pro-terrorist/anti-American countries in the world. Some would say it doesn't go far enough, me included, but it's a start. The order would prevent terrorists or potential terrorists from entering the United States.

Once an individual is properly vetted, they would be allowed to enter.........

The REAL Story is Not The Victimization of Mike Flynn; It's About Our National Security

The REAL Story is Not The Victimization of Mike Flynn; It's About Our National Security
"Washington, D.C. – Tensions before today’s White House briefing were high as many reporters in the White House Press pool brainstormed “got ya!” questions about the resignation of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
As previously reported by TGP, Michael Flynn fell victim to a targeted campaign by former Obama officials who wanted to maintain the Iran Nuclear deal (something thatMichael Flynn was opposed to).
Image result for obama iran dealNeglecting the intrinsic dangers to our national security that is presented by these leaks, the majority of WH press chose to focus, instead, on a purported “scandal.” When one reporter mentioned President Trump’s morning tweet, ” “The real story here is why are there so many illegal leaks coming out of Washington? Will these leaks be happening as I deal on N.Korea etc?”
...Spicer brought up the very astute point that these leaks present a grave national security disaster to the U.S. government, the largest international power.
To have members of a former administration leaking classified information in an attempt to maintain former partisan policy is not just short-sighted, but presents a grave danger to the government and country..."
