No, George Bush did not criticize Donald Trump. He agreed with Trump. | Flopping Aces
"W gave an interview recently and it was depicted widely as being a criticism of Donald Trump.
Former President George W. Bush seemed to criticize President Donald Trump in an interview with the Today Show Monday morning, saying the news media and freedom of religion are crucial to American democracy.
...And Fox News jumped in:
Former President George W. Bush offered what appeared to be a thinly veiled critique of his Republican successor on Monday, as he defended the importance of the media and immigration policies that are “welcoming.”
I don’t agree.
I think that wily Bush really agreed with Trump, but couched his words carefully to make it sound like he was being critical.
For instance, Yahoo quoted Bush as saying
“We need the media to hold people like me to account,”
But what he actually said was:
“We need an independent media to hold people like me to account.”
...Matt Lauer did his best to try to goad W into attacking Bush, but Bush stayed above the fray.
What else did W say?
About immigration:
“I am for an immigration policy that’s welcoming and upholds the law.”
That, in a nutshell, is Trump’s plan."

America's Troubled Youth Foreshadow a Troubled Future
James Shott: America's Troubled Youth Foreshadow a Troubled Future — The Patriot Post
"...America has produced a substantial number of young people who don’t know the fundamental elements of their country or the important aspects of its operation, and who are, therefore, unprepared to discharge the duties and obligations of citizenship.
Ours is a country whose success and ability to continue being successful depend upon its citizens understanding its foundational principles.
We must know how government is supposed to work, being able to discern when it has strayed from its proper course, and then work to restore things so that the republic can and will survive and thrive.
John Adams put it quite succinctly: “Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people.”
And his cousin Sam Adams likewise warned, “No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffusd and Virtue is preservd. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauchd in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.”
...He quoted a News Forum for Lawyers article about a study by American Institutes for Research revealing that more than “75 percent of two-year college students and 50 percent of four-year college students were incapable of completing everyday tasks.”

U.S. Gives Soros Groups Millions to Destabilize Macedonia’s Conservative Govt. - Judicial Watch:
"The U.S. government has quietly spent millions of taxpayer dollars to destabilize the democratically elected, center-right government in Macedonia by colluding with leftwing billionaire philanthropist George Soros, records obtained by Judicial Watch show. Barack Obama’s U.S. Ambassador to Macedonia, Jess L. Baily, has worked behind the scenes with Soros’ Open Society Foundation to funnel large sums of American dollars for the cause, constituting an interference of the U.S. Ambassador in domestic political affairs in violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The cash flows through the State Department and the famously corrupt U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID), which is charged with providing global economic, development and humanitarian assistance. USAID has allocated about $5 million to leftwing Soros groups in Macedonia since 2012, documents show, and at least $9.5 million has been earmarked by the agency to intervene in the Balkan nation’s governmental affairs for 2016-2011. It asks activists to use the descriptors to petition their representatives to “forcefully condemn” and support legislation opposing President Trump’s immigration and border security agendas.
...It ends with contact information for activists from two groups heavily financed by billionaire George Soros – Avideh Moussavian at the National Immigration Law Center and Deepa Iyer at the Center for Social Inclusion.
...The project called on activists to show up at “elected officials’ events, town halls, and other public appearances to make it clear to those who represent us in Congress, as well as to the media, that tolerance of the Trump Administration’s hurtful policies is intolerable, that indifference or idleness is not acceptable, that complacency is politically toxic.”...

LIBERTY REVIEW
LIBERTY REVIEW:
https://libertyreview76.blogspot.com/2017/03/march1-2017-grandassumptions-bytammy_68.html
Watching the news was once a time honored event. It was also a time when several things were taken for granted and assumed. Before I go any further, there are two life lessons in the last sentence. Lesson number one: When you take something for granted, you do not fully understand or appreciate its value. You assume, that which always was, will always be. Lesson number two: Never assume anything. I wish I could remember where I first heard the comical break down of the word. I believe it was on a television show, many years ago. Never assume anything, a fictional character proclaimed. The word was then divided into three parts with the explanation; if you assume something it will only make an (insert first three letters of assume) out of (forth letter) and (last two letters).
Not only was the dissection of the word comical, it spoke volumes. Let's look back at some of our grand assumptions. As Americans, we took many things for granted. For starters, we assumed our government would preserve our rights, not attack or called them into question. We didn't think our government would intentionally weaken our national security or ignore calls for help when our fellow Americans were under attack. We assumed our government would target our enemies, not the American people, and that the President of the United States would not weaken our country.
We did not feel vulnerable within our protected borders. The thought of our enemies being able to carry out an attack within our communities was, at one time, a mere plot for a fictional thriller. We assumed that what happened “over there” would never happen here. Our homeland was protected by the best military in the world and our borders were guarded and patrolled. A political divide did not exist when it came to the security of the United States.

While Governors, Mayors, Police Chiefs and Sheriffs Refuse To Help ICE and

The so called media continually whines about “families being broken up” but says virtually nothing about the 3 million illegals with criminal records who are roaming our streets, committing more crimes while lapping up taxpayer-funded freebies.
Before you go any further, whenever you hear some leftist, democrat or even Republican say that people who have come here illegally, just want a better life and it really isn't a crime... show them this!
How many of these people would be alive today if we had been enforcing our current immigration laws that we already have on the books and how many of their families' lives wouldn't have been turned upside down and ripped apart, because we've essentially had an open border policy for decades now..."

Hype-driven disasters
Hype-driven disasters - Washington Times:
"It can be dangerous to believe one’s own or others’ hype.
A couple of weeks ago, 180,000 people living downstream from the nation’s highest dam, the Oroville Dam in California, had to be evacuated because the dam’s main and emergency spillways were damaged due to heavy rainfall and runoff.
For many years, it had been known to both state and federal officials that the dam spillways were in need of repair.
But the politicians decided not to spend the necessary money, in part, because of the erroneous belief that due to global warming, the California drought would continue and limited rainfall would not be sufficient to refill the dam.
...Overhyped and exaggerated beliefs about climate change are now imposing major economic and human costs on Californians.
Misguided and downright stupid policies attributed of climate change hype have not just infected Californians but other peoples around the world subject to mass hysteria, such as the Germans. ...German industries that relied on cheap energy fled to places like Louisiana, where energy is plentiful, inexpensive and reliable.
So now the Germans are in a crash program to build many new coal-fired electrical power stations to avoid brownouts.
So much for going green..."

Transgender MSU student’s sex assault claim leads accused to fight back in lawsuit
Transgender MSU student’s sex assault claim leads accused to fight back in lawsuit | Fox News
"It was a saga that started on Memorial Day weekend in 2014 when two already romantic Michigan State University students, referred to in legal documents as Nathan and Melanie, began a consensual sexual tryst in the backseat of a car.
A passerby interrupted them, and Melanie revealed that the incident brought up unpleasant memories of a previous abusive relationship.
The incident and its aftermath triggered a long-running and sometimes confusing case that underscores the challenges colleges and universities face in dealing with ambiguous sexual assault allegations outside the legal system.
Later that night, Nathan tried to resume the encounter -- reaching underneath Melanie’s shirt -- but he said he stopped after she rejected him.
Sixteen months later, Melanie -- who reportedly is awaiting gender reassignment surgery and now identifies as a man -- made a formal complaint to MSU officials for the “one-time, non-consensual touching.”
Melanie cited being transgender as a key reason for coming forward, and claimed to fear encountering her ex-lover in the male bathrooms..."

Fabricating Chelsea Clinton
Fabricating Chelsea Clinton | commentary: "83
Democrats are confused as to how they were bested by a political figure they see as an empty suit with a pedigree famous for little more than tweeting.
If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.
It’s been hard to avoid the contrived, media-driven campaign to fabricate Chelsea Clinton into a figure of political and cultural relevance.
...The Times interview, published on February 23, appears to have set off a flurry of Chelsea Clinton profiles you never knew you wanted.
The youngest Clinton “has been fired up online since Trump took office,” according to the media criticism outlet Newser, “resulting in a more ‘provocative’ and ‘punchier’ former first daughter who isn’t afraid to take on anti-Semitism, ‘fake news,‘ and even the commander in chief himself.”
You might be surprised to learn that Clinton “takes down Trump” on Twitter on a regular basis, as Mashable helpfully informed its readership.
In fact, Clinton is occupying a role that cannot be performed by either Hillary Clinton or even Michelle Obama: “a woman who doesn’t hold office but possesses both political power and the ability to speak forcefully about threats to American democracy.”
The “political power” Clinton enjoys seems to have been conferred upon her exclusively by the reporters glowingly praising her snarky tweets.
Those tweets, by the way, are written entirely in her own voice.
At least, that is the revelation provided to CNN by Clinton’s spokesperson.
And it’s a “distinctive, sometimes sassy, voice America hasn’t heard before...”

Teamsters Local 707’s pension fund is the first to officially bottom out financially — which happened this month.
“I had a union job for 30 years,” Chmil said. “We had collectively bargained contracts that promised us a pension. I paid into it with every paycheck. Everyone told us, ‘Don’t worry, you have a union job, your pension is guaranteed.’ Well, so much for that.”
“It’s a nightmare, it has just devastated all of our lives. I’ve gone from having $48,000 a year to less than half that,” said Chmil, one of five Local 707 retirees who agreed to share their stories with the Daily News last week.
“I don’t want other people to have to go through this. We need everyone to wake up and do something; that’s why we’re talking,” said Ray Narvaez.
Of course, the Teamsters 707 and other Teamster pension boards attempted to submit plans that would have cut benefits in order to prolong payments to retirees but those plans were universally rejected by the Obama administration...better that the pensions just run out of cash completely.
Per Pensions & Investments: Read on!

...Meanwhile, under the maximum benefits provided by the PBGC, many former Teamsters, like Ray Narvaez, said their monthly retirement checks have been slashed by two-thirds...
Of course, as the Central States Pension General Counsel notes, the real "pension tsunami" will come when the massive "municipal and state plans go down next."...
