Trust us, we're from the government----Student Loan Forgiveness Program Approval Letters May Be Invalid

"More than 550,000 people have signed up for a federal program that promises to repay their remaining student loans after they work 10 years in a public service job.
But now, some of those workers are left to wonder if the government will hold up its end of the bargain — or leave them stuck with thousands of dollars in debt that they thought would be eliminated.
In a legal filing submitted last week, the Education Department suggested that borrowers could not rely on the program’s administrator to say accurately whether they qualify for debt forgiveness. The thousands of approval letters that have been sent by the administrator, FedLoan Servicing, are not binding and can be rescinded at any time, the agency said..."

Black Lives Matter Philly chapter bans white people from meeting-By Rick Moran
The Philadelphia chapter of Black Lives Matter have explicitly banned white people from an organizational meeting.
In response to a concerned white person who didn't want to "overstep," BLM tweeted that the meeting was "black centered."

@BLMPhilly is it just your meetings that are black only spaces? or are all activities this way? I want to support but don't want to overstep pic.twitter.com/X5yvFBh9jU

Anyone who identifies as “African disapora” is allowed to attend, the group explained over Twitter.
“If you identify as a person of the African Diaspora You can attend our meetings and become a member. If not you can support us in other ways,” Philly BLM said in a tweet. “African Disapora” usually refers to people who were taken out of Africa during the Transatlantic Slave Trades.
Does that mean that a recent immigrant from Africa isn't welcome?
One Twitter user pointed out that Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. worked side by side with whites to accomplish his goals. Philly Black Lives Matter responded by saying that was King’s decision.

He made that choice and we have made ours. White people can support us but they cannot attend our meetings. https://twitter.com/LadyThriller69/status/848761417700220929

Media Ignore, Downplay Susan Rice ‘Unmasking’ Revelations. Here Are 3 Major Reasons The Story Matters.

Daily Wire:
Image result for liberals hiding the truth"Despite bombshell reports yesterday claiming that Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice “unmasked” members of the Trump campaign and Trump transition team while reviewing raw intelligence, that such unmasked information was widely distributed among top members of the Obama administration, and that Rice asked for continuous updates on communications between foreign targets and the Trump team after Trump won the Republican nomination, the media have decided that the story simply isn’t worth covering.
CNN’s Don Lemon stated that the media should not “aid and abet the people” creating a “diversion” over Susan Rice.
As Newsbusters reports, CBS’ Margaret Brennan cited sources stating that Rice’s activity was perfectly normal and not improper.
The New York Times echoed that claim.
ABC News and NBC News didn’t cover the story at all.
But the story is huge.
Here are three reasons why..."

A third Democratic senator has pledged to support Neil Gorsuch – TheBlaze:

"A third Democratic senator has pledged to break ranks with the rest of his caucus and support Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.

Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) said in a statement Sunday that after meeting with Gorsuch he believes Gorsuch is a “qualified jurist.”"

The story they don't want you see-----“A TREMENDOUS ABUSE OF THE SYSTEM:” Susan Rice Ordered Spy Agencies To Produce ‘Detailed Spreadsheet…

“A TREMENDOUS ABUSE OF THE SYSTEM
Former President Barack Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice ordered U.S. spy agencies to produce “detailed spreadsheets” of legal phone calls involving Donald Trump and his aides when he was running for president, according to former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova.
“What was produced by the intelligence community at the request of Ms. Rice were detailed spreadsheets of intercepted phone calls with unmasked Trump associates in perfectly legal conversations with individuals,” diGenova told The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group Monday.
“The overheard conversations involved no illegal activity by anybody of the Trump associates, or anyone they were speaking with,” diGenova said. “In short, the only apparent illegal activity was the unmasking of the people in the calls.”
Other knowledgeable official sources with direct knowledge and who requested anonymity confirmed to TheDCNF diGenova’s description of surveillance reports Rice ordered one year before the 2016 presidential election. . . .
Col. (Ret.) James Waurishuk, an NSC veteran and former deputy director for intelligence at the U.S. Central Command, told The DCNF that many hands had to be involved throughout the Obama administration to launch such a political spying program.
“The surveillance initially is the responsibility of the National Security Agency,” Waurishuk said. “They have to abide by this guidance when one of the other agencies says, ‘we’re looking at this particular person which we would like to unmask.’”
Image result for obama unmasking“The lawyers and counsel at the NSA surely would be talking to the lawyers and members of counsel at CIA, or at the National Security Council or at the Director of National Intelligence or at the FBI,” he said. “It’s unbelievable of the level and degree of the administration to look for information on Donald Trump and his associates, his campaign team and his transition team. This is really, really serious stuff.”
Michael Doran, former NSC senior director, told TheDCNF Monday that “somebody blew a hole in the wall between national security secrets and partisan politics.” This “was a stream of information that was supposed to be hermetically sealed from politics and the Obama administration found a way to blow a hole in that wall.”
Doran charged that potential serious crimes were undertaken because “this is a leaking of signal intelligence.”
“That’s a felony,” he told TheDCNF. “And you can get 10 years for that. It is a tremendous abuse of the system. We’re not supposed to be monitoring American citizens. Bigger than the crime, is the breach of public trust.”
All these people need to be placed under oath and questioned separately about what happened. There’s also sure to be a document trail. And it seems like the mid-level security bureaucrats are starting to talk.
Bottom line:
“We’re looking at a potential constitutional crisis from the standpoint that we used an extremely strong capability that’s supposed to be used to safeguard and protect the country,” he said. “And we used it for political purposes by a sitting President.”
"Yep. Political abuse has always been the big risk with mass surveillance, and now it appears that risk has become an actuality.
UPDATE: And I see Stephen Green was posting this at the same time. I’ll leave both up, because it’s that big a story.
Plus, InstaPundit from a month ago: “Hypothesis: The spying-on-Trump thing is worse than we even imagine, and once it was clear Hillary had lost and it would inevitably come out, the Trump/Russia collusion talking point was created as a distraction. Now it’s being rowed back because the talk of ‘transcripts’ supports the spying-on-Trump storyline. Will we ever know? Maybe, if there’s a proper investigation into Obama Administration political spying.”
ANOTHER UPDATE: From the comments: “If they were spying on Trump a year before the election, they were spying on other GOP candidates, too. And probably Democrats running against Hillary for the nomination.” Well, so far as I know there’s no evidence of that, but it’s worth looking into."

The Next Subprime Crisis Is Here: 12 Signs That A Day Of Reckoning Has Arrived For The U.S. Auto Industry

The Next Subprime Crisis Is Here: 12 Signs That A Day Of Reckoning Has Arrived For The U.S. Auto Industry:
"In 2008, subprime mortgages almost single-handedly took down the entire financial system, and now a new subprime crisis is here.
In recent years, the auto industry has been able to boost sales by aggressively pushing people into auto loans that they cannot afford.
Image result for Subprime CrisisIn particular, auto loans made to consumers with subprime credit have been accounting for an increasingly larger percentage of the market.
Unfortunately, when you make loans to people that should not be getting them, eventually a lot of those loans are going to start to go bad, and that is precisely what is happening now.
Meanwhile, automakers and dealers are starting to panic as sales have begun to fall and used car prices have started to crash.
If you work in the auto industry, you might remember how horrible the last recession was, and this new downturn could eventually turn out to be even worse.
The following are 12 signs that a day of reckoning has arrived for the U.S. auto industry…
#1 Seven out of the eight largest automakers in the United States fell short of their sales projections in March.
#2 Overall, U.S. auto sales so far in 2017 have been described as a “disaster” despite record spending on consumer incentives by automakers.
#3 Dealer inventories are now at the highest level that we have seen since the last financial crisis.  Why this is so troubling is because there are a whole lot of unsold vehicles just sitting there doing nothing, and this is becoming a major financial problem for many dealers..."

"The gun industry may be headed for a slump after eight years of explosive growth under former President Barack Obama.
From December through February, the number of federal background checks conducted each month declined from the same month a year ago, according to the Associated Press.
While not an exact measure of total firearm sales, background checks are considered a key measure of how gun manufacturers are performing.
“President Obama was the best gun salesman the world has ever seen,” Karl Sorken, a production manager at Houston-based Battle Rifle Co., told the AP..."

Obamacare Food Labeling Regulations Are Absurd | National Review

Obamacare Food Labeling Regulations Are Absurd | National Review:

"The nation’s franchise restaurants are about one month away from the imposition of new nutritional-labeling rules dreamed up by the Obama administration, another gift of the grievously misnamed Affordable Care Act. For outlets of brands with 20 or more locations, that means posting signs in the shop with calorie counts for every item on the menu and for every variation on that item."

This day in American history-1975-Never Forget-----Two AF nurses heroes of 'Operation Babylift'

FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. (AFNS) --
"...An explosion blew out a pressure door of a C-5A Galaxy as it took off from Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Vietnam, April 4, 1975, forcing it to make an emergency landing with 313 passengers and crew, including 250 orphans.

The plane was the first to depart in support of Operation Babylift, where American caregivers were paired with South Vietnamese orphans, most fathered by Americans, to evacuate them to the Philippines then to San Diego, Calif., where President Gerald Ford was ready to welcome them to the United Sates.

Capt. Mary Klinker, the flight nurse and 1st Lt. Regina C. Aune, a nurse, were on board to help safely secure the children for their passage to a new life.

Pilot Capt. Dennis "Bud" Traynor and co-pilot Capt. Tilford Harp heroically controlled the doomed aircraft, but the explosion and a crash landing changed the lives of all on board.

Aune was thrown the entire length of the upper deck as the crippled aircraft skidded a quarter mile in a rice paddy, became airborne approximately a half mile, then crashed into an irrigation ditch where it was torn into four pieces.

In the crash, Klinker became the last U.S. servicewoman to die in the Vietnam War and was posthumously awarded the Air Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. Her name is listed on panel O1W, row 122 of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial.

Aune helped carry 80 babies to rescue helicopters at the muddy crash site. When unable to continue, she asked the first officer she saw if she could be relieved of her duties, then passed out.
It was later discovered she helped save these babies with a broken foot, a broken leg, a broken vertebra and numerous other injuries..."
