The American Left Is Talking Itself Into Violence

The American Left Is Talking Itself Into Violence:

Image result for flickr commons images Riot Gear"Something is wrong with the American Left. The recent spate of violent protests on college campuses has been well-documented, but the violence and intolerance championed by left-wing student activists is beginning to creep off campus and into mainstream public life.

The reason for this is straightforward enough: although progressives pride themselves on their putative tolerance and diversity, the imperatives of leftist politics are fundamentally illiberal. Justice imposed through power is the philosophical foundation of the political left, and when earnest progressives become convinced the only avenue to power is violence, their tolerance quickly falls by the wayside. Consider a few recent events, none of which involved college protesters but all of which were marked by threats of violence."

Don Surber: Trump busts a billionaire's monopoly

Don Surber: Trump busts a billionaire's monopoly:
Trump busts a billionaire's monopoly
For eight years, Barack Obama waged an open war against North Dakota.
Obama's billionaire buddy Warren Buffett owned the railroad that had a near monopoly on transporting oil out of the state.
Obama kept pipelines from opening because it would ruin Buffett's monopolistic environment.

I hope Buffett paid Obama well for services rendered.

But that swamp was just drained.

From the Associated Press:
There are hundreds more jobs than takers in the heart of North Dakota's oil patch. Finding a hotel room, parking space or table at a restaurant is no longer easy.
More than two years after the state's unprecedented oil bonanza fizzled to a lull, North Dakota - the nation's No. 2 oil producer behind Texas -- is experiencing a sort of boomlet that has pushed daily production back above 1 million barrels daily....
Buffett is kissing off $3 million a day -- $1 billion a year.

Image result for obama buffettFrom the story:
The $3.8 billion pipeline -- expected to be fully operating next month -- opens up the possibility for North Dakota oil to be sold on the world market, where industry officials say it could earn several dollars more per barrel. Shippers also can save about $3 per barrel moving the oil by pipeline rather than using the mile-long trains that have carried North Dakota crude to the Gulf Coast since 2008, industry officials say.
Yep.
Buffett pocketed $3 a barrel from transporting 1 million barrels of oil a day on his railroad..."

$697,177 for a ‘Climate-Change Musical’: You Call That Science? - WSJ

$697,177 for a ‘Climate-Change Musical’: You Call That Science? - WSJ:
"...The NSF, whose mission is to ensure U.S. leadership in areas of science and technology that are essential to economic growth and national security, frequently funds politically correct but low-value research projects.
A few doozies include the

  • veiling-fashion industry in Turkey,
  • Viking textiles in Iceland,
  • the “social impacts” of tourism in the northern tip of Norway,
  • and whether hunger causes couples to fight (using the number of pins stuck in voodoo dolls as a measure of aggressive feelings).
  • Research funding in the geosciences, including climate change, is certainly legitimate, but not when it goes to ludicrous boondoggles such as a climate-change musical that cost $697,177 to produce.

The primary culprit is the NSF’s Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences, known as SBE.
Underlying its ability to dispense grants is the wrongheaded notion that social-science projects such as a study of animal depictions in National Geographic and a climate change musical are as important as research to identify early markers for Alzheimer’s disease or pancreatic cancer..."

Many viewers of the show think that the decision is being made by liberal ABC, owned by Disney, primarily because the series is about an unashamedly conservative character (Mike Baxter) played by a conservative actor. Allen told Jimmy Kimmel in March that living in Hollywood right now was akin to being in Nazi Germany."

Tick, Tock: EMP War Looms - Katie Kieffer
"If you want to cry after WannaCry ransomware attacked FedEx in the United States, hospitals in Britain, and telecommunications networks in Spain last Friday, you’ll want to bawl when North Korea hits the U.S. with an electromagnetic pulse (EMP).
Let’s not go there.
Image result for EMP War LoomsCongressional reports and most security experts agree that America’s adversaries—from developed nations like China and Russia to dictatorships like Iran and North Korea—prefer to target our country with a triple threat combination of cyberattacks, physical damage and EMP. And EMP is the greatest threat of the three.
A unique menace in that it can occur naturally (via a geomagnetic storm) or by man (via the high-altitude detonation of a nuclear weapon),
EMP is a rapid acceleration of particles that creates a high-power burst of electromagnetic energy.
55 years ago, during the Cold War, the United States experienced an accidental EMP blast when the JFK administration tested a 1.4-megaton nuclear warhead 250 miles above Johnston Atoll in the Pacific Ocean.
The test, Operation Starfish Prime, malfunctioned.
Traffic lights 850 miles away in Hawaii immediately went out, six satellites above the Pacific died, and radio networks were disrupted in Alaska, Hawaii and California.
Starfish Prime was a powerful warning—had we listened.
Unfortunately, today our country is virtually defenseless against an EMP attack.
Furthermore, the ramifications of an EMP attack in 2017 are far greater than in 1962 due to the proliferation of grid-dependent smartphones, computers, cars, medical facilities, financial institutions and food distribution channels.
Even our military is far more electricity-dependent..."

Rather than promoting health and healing, the business model that supports this multimillion-dollar health-care fraud involves warehousing addicts in fake sober homes to facilitate the perpetual fleecing their parents’ insurance policies.
Many of the addicts are complicit in the scam, using their parents’ insurance benefits like a credit card to fund a work-free and responsibility-free South Florida lifestyle while hiding behind a false façade of 'treatment.'"

Image result for flickr commons images hillary clinton"At its core, the narrative casts 2016’s presidential election as having been compromised by a political influence operation executed by the Russian state at the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin; its purpose to defeat Clinton and elect Trump.

Putin, the narrative’s advocates allege, had developed a preference for Trump over Clinton. Breaking with a history of America’s adversaries preferring Democrat leadership, Democrats and their news media allies would have Americans believe that Clinton somehow represented a greater threat to Putin’s political designs than Trump."

Mother Turns Her Son Into a Drag Queen

Mother Turns Her Son Into a Drag Queen:
"The gender-bending craze taking over the culture has officially gone far enough.
A while back the TUK Daily Mail highlighted the viral photographs of 8-year-old Ethan Wilwert in drag makeup.
His mother, Season, is all for it.
Season said Ethan has loved makeup "since he was a young child, he used to watch me get ready and put on makeup."
"He's asked to apply my makeup before."
One of his inspirations has been YouTube makeup artist Jeffree Star, an American singer and songwriter who creates extreme drag styles on Instagram.
Season said: "He wants to learn how to do drag and theatre styles of makeup, as well as other styles."
Makeup artist Joey had only recently qualified for MAC and Ethan was his first makeover, Metro reported.
"...There are only two reasons to do this to a child.
The first is grooming for pedophilia.
The second is because queer children are the new status symbol in America.
Selfish and bored women who want extra attention can now get it by transitioning their child at the age of two or three and forcing everyone around them to deny reality and call Jane "Joe" and build new bathrooms at school and hold conferences where they are the center of attention..."

California threatens to shut down book signings and therefore small booksellers - PLF Liberty Blog

Image result for im from the government and i'm here to helpCalifornia threatens to shut down book signings and therefore small booksellers - PLF Liberty Blog: "Acting on purported consumer protection concerns, the legislature recently expanded its autograph law (which formerly only applied to sports memorabilia) to include any signed item worth over $5—including books.
Under that law, sellers must produce a certificate of authenticity and maintain detailed records of every sale for seven years.
Sellers must, among other things:

  • Note the purchase price and date of sale,
  • specify whether the item is part of a limited edition,
  • note the size of the edition, anticipate any future editions,
  • disclose whether the seller is bonded,
  • divulge any previous owner’s name and address,
  • if the book was signed in the presence of the seller, specify the date and location of the signing, and identify a witness to the autograph.

Failure to disclose any of the required details, or to keep the certificate for the full seven years, results in outrageous penalties.
Even an inadvertent omission can subject a seller to actual damages, plus a civil penalty of up to 10 times the damages, plus court costs, plus reasonable attorney’s fees, plus expert witness fees, plus interest.
Professional plaintiff’s lawyers must be chomping at the bit.
If Bill sold just 100 signed copies of a $30 book, but six years later, couldn’t locate the records noting the size of the edition, he’d be liable for (at minimum) $30,000.
...Even worse than irrational, the law is pernicious: despite the law’s vast breadth (it also covers paintings, sculptures, and auctioneers), certain sellers have secured exemptions.
Online retailers and pawn shops, those places where uninformed buyers are most vulnerable, do not have to comply..."

Image result for democrats steal tax dollarsSurplus convention money should have gone to taxpayers: governor | PennLive.com: "PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Gov. Tom Wolf says the committee that raised public and private money to put on last summer's Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia should have returned surplus funds to the taxpayers rather than handing out staff bonuses and grants.
The Legislature provided $10 million for the event, and some lawmakers voiced displeasure upon finding out that the host committee gave nearly $1 million in bonuses for staff members as well as grants for Philadelphia schools and nonprofits.
The bonuses were disclosed in a Jan. 31 Federal Election Commission filing.
Wolf said Sunday that the commonwealth supports large events that can benefit the region, but leftover funding should be returned to taxpayers.
Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D), the host committee's chairman, called the bonuses a reward for low pay and long hours."
