"A Michigan college is being sued for threatening conservative students with trespassing charges when they tried to engage classmates about fossil fuels using a T-Rex costume.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday by the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) against Macomb Community College (MCC) in Michigan, challenges a school policy requiring students to obtain advance permission from administrators in order to engage in “expressive activity” anywhere on campus, which ADF maintains is an unconstitutional infringement of students’ First Amendment rights.
"By banning free speech...officials aren’t respecting the constitutionally protected freedoms of students."
Even with permission, though, ADF claims in a press release that students are still restricted to a “speech zone” encompassing just 0.001 percent of the 230-acre campus.
...According to the lawsuit, the TPUSA members had gathered in a large, open area of campus to discuss their support for fossil fuels, and “did not block access to buildings or pedestrian traffic” or otherwise “interfere with any MCC activities or other planned events.”
Campus police officers nonetheless informed the students that they could not even speak to classmates without prior approval from an administrator...”

"A Pakistani family under criminal investigation by the U.S. Capitol Police for abusing their access to the House of Representatives information technology (IT) system may have engaged in myriad other questionable schemes besides allegedly placing “ghost employees” on the congressional payroll.
Image result for Imran Awan, his wife Hina, and brothers Abid and JamalImran Awan, his wife Hina, and brothers Abid and Jamal collectively netted more than $4 million in salary as IT administrators for House Democrats between 2009 and 2017.
Yet the absence of signs of wealth displayed among them raise questions such as was the money sent overseas or did something other than paychecks motivate their actions?
Capitol Police revoked the Awans’ access to the congressional IT system in February 2017 after a major data breach was detected.
Their access had allowed them to read emails and files of dozens of members, including many serving on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs..."

Murdered Dallas Cops Were Left Unprotected So They Wouldn't Look "Militaristic" | Frontpage Mag
"When the Ferguson race riots first broke out, the media made much of the "militaristic" police.
Some on the "right", shamefully joined in those attacks.
At least until the tide clearly went against them.
There is a reason that police have to armor up.
And when police are told not to protect themselves so they don't look militaristic, the Black Lives Matters killers have an easier time getting at them.
That's what the report about the Black Nationalist massacre of police officers in Dallas tells us.
The I-Team has learned the officers assigned to the rally in downtown Dallas last July – where five officers were killed and nine wounded – were told not to wear certain heavy protective gear because it would make them look too “militaristic.”
...Mata, in an exclusive interview, said that, while all of the officers were believed to have been wearing standard-issued protective vests, many had with them better protective gear – stronger, thicker body armor and helmets – but had to keep them in their patrol vehicles..."

The Unreported Reason Why Detroit’s Unemployment Rate Dropped [Michigan Capitol Confidential]

The Unreported Reason Why Detroit’s Unemployment Rate Dropped [Michigan Capitol Confidential]
"The media have begun celebrating the drop in Detroit’s unemployment rate.
Media reports note that the city’s unemployment rate stood at 7.5 percent in May, the lowest in 17 years.
The city’s unemployment rate was 8.4 percent in April.
Image result for fake newsLinking to a news article on the drop in unemployment, Lt. Gov. Brian Calley tweeted, “Michigan is the comeback state and Detroit is the comeback city.”
An article in MLive attributed some of the drop to new construction projects, saying that developers who get tax incentives from the city usually agree to hire Detroit residents.
ForTheRecord says: Missing from media accounts was the decreasing labor force in Detroit.
James Hohman, director of fiscal policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, said that about two-thirds of the drop in the city’s unemployment rate is due to a smaller labor force.
Hohman said the number of employed city residents went up 15,856 between May 2010 and May 2017.
That was a 7.6 percent gain.
But Hohman pointed out there were also 33,619 fewer people in the labor force, a 12.2 percent loss.
If the city had added the same number of jobs but also maintained the size of its May 2010 labor force, the unemployment rate would be 18.8 percent..."

They really need stronger gun laws with stricter background checks.
Yeah, that’s the ticket.
...The holiday weekend has become the most violent period in the city for the last several years, despite the extra efforts to stop the shootings before they start.
Police have increased street patrols and allocated resources though predictive policing, which uses data to identify hot spots for crime and Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws.
Still, the nation’s third-largest city has seen nearly 330 murders already this year.

Growing Pile of Data Shows That Voter Fraud Is a Real and Vast Problem

Growing Pile of Data Shows That Voter Fraud Is a Real and Vast Problem:

Image result for flickr commons images Voter Booth"This week, The Heritage Foundation is updating its Voter Fraud Database with 89 new entries, including 75 convictions and a slew of overturned elections and civil fines targeting vote fraudsters.

With these latest additions, the database now documents 581 cases of proven voter fraud and 848 criminal convictions.

Heritage’s database proves not only that voter fraud is real and ongoing, but also that it is not isolated to any particular state or region."

"There is little in the news today quite as delightful as watching the mainstream media do the CNN Two-Step. The CNN Two-Step is a simple dance.
Step One: Put your foot in your mouth.
Step Two: Shoot yourself in the foot.
The results are bloody but hilarious.
Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, people standing and textThe latest iteration comes from CNN's own Jim Acosta.
Acosta seems to have modeled himself on the Grandfather of Fake News, Dan Rather.
Rather made his name by shouting biased and hostile questions at a president despised of the elite.
Acosta has made a fool of himself doing the same thing.
Acosta beclowned himself most recently (as of this writing; it's hard to keep up) filing a sneering, unprofessional report on the president's press conference in Poland.
Acosta scornfully called it a "fake news conference":
...The media might use this opportunity to stop dancing the CNN Two-Step — to stop blowing their own heads off in other words — and take stock.
They might ignore Donald Trump's manners and ask themselves whether perhaps he has a point, whether perhaps their industry is desperately in need of reform.
But they can't.
Because there is one simple fact they don't get:
Image result for CNN memeTrump's attacks on the press aren't a bug in the administration.
They're a feature.
...after sixteen years of snarling contempt from the fancy-pants mouthpieces of large media corporations, the American people elected Donald Trump, in part at least, to send the media a message.
The message is:
Go to hell.
It's about time the press received it loud and clear."

...The ESPN personality then argued that Kaepernick did not inject politics into the NFL, but rather the NFL injects politics by playing the national anthem and “putting pressure” on people to stand.
