Just asking, because on TV this week I’ve been watching the “Cajun Navy” pull one Dunkirk after another all around the Gulf Coast.

And those good old boys look like they just came off the set of “Duck Dynasty.” They could be wearing MAGA hats. Hell, I’ll bet one or two of them may have even been falsely accused of committing a fake hate crime or two since the election by some unhinged Social Justice Warrior."

Common Core? 6th Graders Taught How to Use Strap-On Dildo - Tea Party News

My bad.

Common Core? 6th Graders Taught How to Use Strap-On Dildo - Tea Party News
"Explicit: 11-12 year olds given sex toy lesson in Jacksonville
(Infowars) – Shocking images out of a classroom in Jacksonville, Florida illustrate how 11-12 year olds in 6th grade are being taught how to use strap-on dildos amidst a debate about Common Core sex education standards which have been attacked by some as pornographic.
...In another image, the woman shows the children how to wear a harness to which the strap-on is attached.
Clinton Middle School in Duval County hired 39-year-old Sharon Mercer to teach the sex education class but after the photos emerged she was suspended and the school refused further comment...
The teaching of so-called “alternative” sexual lifestyles is mandated in many states under Common Core.
...Perhaps the most infamous example of how Common Core will manifest itself in America’s schooling system was illustrated by a bizarre video in which a Common Core curriculum director said that 3 x 4 = 11 could be considered a correct answer so long as students could explain how they reached that number..."

A Word To The Wise - "You're A Mercenary If..." | Zero Hedge
"The Burning Platform's Jim Quinn notes that:
I have no idea if Major General Higginbotham actually penned this or not but it is a stark warning, one that I have maintained for years, that a civil war in North America (if it happens in the USA it will take Mexico and Canada along for the ride) will not be as cut and dry and as some folks would like.
There are no definable sides to our current predicament, no political organization to speak of, and as such a wide spread conflict would become chaos in short order.
The continent would get very tribal very quickly. Political ideologues proceed with caution.

"Here is an e-mail sent to Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune after an article he published concerning a name change for the Washington Redskins.
Dear Mr. Page: I agree with our Native American population.
I am highly insulted by the racially charged name of the Washington Redskins.
One might argue that to name a professional football team after Native Americans would exalt them as fine warriors, but nay, nay.
We must be careful not to offend, and in the spirit of political correctness and courtesy, we must move forward.

  • Let's ditch the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians. If your shorts are in a wad because of the reference the name Redskins makes to skin color, then we need to get rid of the Cleveland Browns.
  • The Carolina Panthers obviously were named to keep the memory of militant Blacks from the 60's alive. Gone. It's offensive to us white folk.
  • The New York Yankees offend the Southern population. Do you see a team named for the Confederacy? No! There is no room for any reference to that tragic war that cost this country so many men's lives.
  • I am also offended by the blatant references to the Catholic religion among our sports team names. Totally inappropriate to have the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Angels or the San Diego Padres.
  • Then there are the team names that glorify criminals who raped and pillaged. We are talking about the horrible Oakland Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Pirates!

Revisiting wind turbine impacts – Erroneous recent calculation highlights need to assess renewable energy sustainability claims | Watts Up With That?

Revisiting wind turbine impacts – Erroneous recent calculation highlights need to assess renewable energy sustainability claims | Watts Up With That?:
"An article I wrote several weeks ago had a couple of stupid math errors.
This column attempts to correct them – and take readers on a journey to the futuristic world of 100 percent “clean, green, sustainable, renewable” wind energy.
Since the assumptions always replacing the 2.85 terawatts of electricity generated worldwide in 2016 – while ensuring stored power for just 48 windless hours – would require:
guide the analysis, this column lays mine out, crunches the numbers, and concludes that

  • 14.4 million 1.8-GW turbines … 570 million acres (30% of the Lower 48 US states) … and 1.4 trillion Tesla 100-kWh lithium-ion battery packs!
  • Need stored electricity for seven windless days? 50 million turbines, the US-Canadian land mass, and 5 trillion battery packs should do it.

Disagree with this analysis?
Wade in with your own.
Let’s have a wide-open debate, before renewable energy activists and politicians lock us into an energy future that might be horrendous for humanity and planet. (Or might save us from calamitous climate change.)..."

Europe's New Lie: Comparing Asylum Shelters to Nazi Concentration Camps

Europe's New Lie: Comparing Asylum Shelters to Nazi Concentration Camps
  • Image result for Pope Francis, who compared a center for migrants to "concentration campsIn the current crisis, governments, NGOs, charities and the media have all embraced migrants in the millions, and welcomed them with open arms. The Jews during the Second World War -- most of whom were turned away, turned in, or betrayed by all European governments -- were not so fortunate.
  • All of Europe's efforts have been devoted to rescuing migrants: on borders, at sea and in cities that host asylum centers. Such distinctions, however, are apparently not enough: the immigration question must become a new ideology, like a religion. That seems why there is an orchestrated attempt by large segments of the establishment to turn Europe's rescue operations into a "new Holocaust". Questioning them must become a taboo. Even Pope Francis, who compared a center for migrants to "concentration camps", adopted this nonsense.
  • Despite Muslims historically having been the most aggressive colonizers, Europe's élites have come to idealize them due to a mix of demographic decline, misconception of Islam, self-hate for the Western culture and a fatal, romanticized attraction for the decolonized Third World people.
What is the best way to shut down the debate on immigration?
By heightening the language to levels impossible to be debated.
That is what has been happening in the new -- and false -- trend of comparing the waves of migrants arriving in Europe to Jews during the Holocaust..."

The inside story of what it took to keep a Texas grocery chain running in the chaos of Hurricane Harvey | Chip Cutter | Pulse | LinkedIn

In Texas, a grocery chain is now inspiring memes.
One goes like this: "State and federal resources are struggling to get into impacted areas. H.E.B. — outta the way, we're coming."
Another adds: "I’ll see your FEMA and Red Cross and raise you my Texas grocery store chain."
The images refer to the largest grocer in the state, H-E-B, with about 350 stores scattered throughout Texas and Mexico. At a time when retail watchers question the future of brick-and-mortar stores due to Amazon's continued ascendance, the 112-year-old retailer is drawing widespread praise after managing to open 60 of its 83 stores in Houston last Sunday, hours after Hurricane Harvey slammed into Texas as a Category 4 storm. (Now, 79 of the 83 stores are open.)..."

A "Super-Powerful" EMP Attack: North Korea's Newest Weapon Against The U.S. | Zero Hedge

A "Super-Powerful" EMP Attack: North Korea's Newest Weapon Against The U.S. | Zero Hedge
"...And while the North bragged about the weapon’s “great destructive power” in a TV broadcast, what caught analysts’ attention was a mention of a different tactic: detonating  an H-bomb at high altitude to create an electromagnetic pulse that could knock out parts of the US electrical grid.
“North Korea’s threats against the U.S. now include a tactic long discussed by some experts: an electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, triggered by a nuclear weapon that would aim to shut down the U.S. electricity grid.

North Korea’s state news agency made a rare reference to the tactic in a Sunday morning release in which the country said it was able to load a hydrogen bomb onto a long-range missile. The bomb, North Korea said, ‘is a multifunctional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated even at high altitudes for super-powerful EMP attack.’”
Unlike a conventional nuke, an EMP blast - think Oceans' 11 - is not directly lethal, and serves mostly to knock out key infrastructure (useful when robbing a casino).

However, it would probably lead to an unknown number of indirect deaths as hospitals and essential infrastructure lose power.
“...electromagnetic waves from the nuclear explosion would generate pulses to overwhelm the electric grid and electronic devices in the same way a lightning surge can destroy equipment.”
In the worst possible scenario, regional power grids could be offline for months (years?), potentially costing many deaths as people would eventually start running out of necessities like food and medicine.
Lawmakers and the US military have been aware of the EMP threat for many years, according to WSJ
In a 2008 report commissioned by Congress, the authors warned that an EMP attack would lead to “widespread and long-lasting disruption and damage to the critical infrastructures that underpin the fabric of US society...”

That argument will go on the ash heap of history by the end of the year because a bipartisan House Panel Approves Legislation Speeding Up Deployment of Self-Driving Cars.
An influential U.S. House committee on Thursday approved a revised bipartisan bill on a 54-0 vote that would speed the deployment of self-driving cars without human controls and bar states from blocking autonomous vehicles.
The bill would allow automakers to obtain exemptions to deploy up to 25,000 vehicles without meeting existing auto safety standards in the first year, a cap that would rise to 100,000 vehicles annually over three years...."

ABC’s ‘Pink Slime’ Report Tied to $177 Million in Settlement Costs - The New York Times

ABC’s ‘Pink Slime’ Report Tied to $177 Million in Settlement Costs - The New York Times:
"The Walt Disney Company said in its latest quarterly financial statement that it had $177 million in costs related to settling litigation.
Image result for abc fake newsThe announcement came just weeks after ABC News, a Disney unit, reached a settlement with a meat producer that accused the network of defamation for its reports about so-called pink slime, a processed beef product used as low-cost filler.
...on Thursday, Dan K. Webb, a lawyer who represented Beef Products in the trial, said the settlement was higher.
“As Disney disclosed, $177 million is not the total settlement amount.
Based on Disney’s disclosure, it appears that Disney is funding $177 million of the settlement and its insurers are paying the rest,” he said in a statement emailed by a spokesman.
