A report by internet security experts, Symantec, says that a hacking group called Dragonfly 2.0 has gained access to 20 power company networks.

The targets were in the United States, Turkey, and Switzerland. According to Symantec, the hackers did gain access to the interface they would need to control the power equipment, with which they could cause a widespread blackout..."

For decades racial discrimination has been deinstitutionalized everywhere in the United States.

Now we have seen the rise of the violent Black Lives Movement with open season on cops, and a Castro-loving football player, then earning $19 million per season starts a black protest against injustice against the Black Race.

The question I have is, where in America are black Americans being denied their rights or due process under the law? 

On the other hand, the Black Community is rife with serious problems, teenage and/or unwed pregnancy, disasterous public education, unemployment and minimally skilled workers, gangs, drugs, and "leaders" promoting a victimhood mentality."

The two professors praised the “bourgeois virtues.” Also in San Diego that week, crews began hosing things down with bleach solution in an effort to halt a hepatitis A outbreak spread by people pooping in the street. 

Ferruolo apparently thought there was something racist, or at least anti-multicultural, in the Wax/Alexander oped, which opened like this:

Too few Americans are qualified for the jobs available. Male working-age labor-force participation is at Depression-era lows. Opioid abuse is widespread. Homicidal violence plagues inner cities. Almost half of all children are born out of wedlock, and even more are raised by single mothers. Many college students lack basic skills, and high school students rank below those from two dozen other countries.

The causes of these phenomena are multiple and complex, but implicated in these and other maladies is the breakdown of the country’s bourgeois culture..."

Facebook is turning over ads presumably purchased by Russians during the campaign. Good -- let’s see them. As the article notes:

The announcement that Facebook would share the ads with the Senate and House intelligence committees came after the social network spent two weeks on the defensive. The company faced calls for greater transparency about 470 Russia-linked accounts  -- in which fictional people posed as American activists -- which were taken down after they had promoted inflammatory messages on divisive issues. Facebook had previously angered congressional staff by showing only a sample of the ads, some of which attacked Hillary Clinton or praised Donald J. Trump.

As Tom Maguire reminds us, it would be unwise to assume this was a one-sided campaign: “Let's see all the ads and find out whether Russia was winding up both sides. Back in the day it was believed Russia backed anti-fracking groups in Europe. Why not also in the US?..”

"In The Detroit News, Michigan Tech President Glenn Mroz argues for more taxpayer spending on state universities. Students that get degrees, he explains, earn more than those without them. 
But he never says that giving state universities more taxpayers dollars will result in more students earning degrees. 
It won’t.

State universities charge tuition to their students, but the institutions also receive direct taxpayer dollars. Some states spend spend more taxpayer dollars on their universities than Michigan does. 

And there are states that have a more credentialed population than Michigan. 

There isn’t a connection between the two.

This can be seen on a chart. 

This looks at a state’s spending on universities and the percentage of its adult population that holds a college degree.

Wyoming and Alaska are the two states that spend a lot on higher education and have middling levels of educational attainment.

Michigan lawmakers are already taking $1.6 billion from taxpayers to give to state universities. 

They ask little in return for it. 

Residents should be asking lawmakers to dial back that spending if it has been sold as a promise to get more graduates in Michigan."
