‘Count down days to death’ in Israel:
"In one of the fieriest speeches directed at Israel by Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, he called for the ethnic cleansing of all Jews in Israel, the destruction of the Jewish state and told Israelis to begin a “count down to death.”
The speech echoed recent rhetoric recently by the Iranian regime and its military officials, who said Tel Aviv would be “destroyed” if Israel made “a mistake,” and that Israel would not survive for more than 25 years.
“Israel should remain silent and count down the days to its death, because any minor mistake would lead to its demise as fast as lightning,” said Iranian army commander Maj.-Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi."

Ban Gas-Powered Cars? California Is Thinking About It | Power Line
"It isn’t enough for California to contemplate its own state-run single payer health care system that would require, at a minimum, tripling the state budget.
Now a lawmaker wants to have the state ban gasoline-powered cars by the year 2040.
I certainly hope California follows through and tries this.
If nothing else, it will provide wonderful black market opportunities.
Think of all the meth labs that will convert to mini-refineries, not to mention the smuggling.
It is doubtful we can legally confiscate existing cars, so look for California’s rolling stock to become the equivalent of all those 57 Chevys and Buicks we see on the streets of Havana.

Such a scheme assumes widespread availability of electric cars...

Fiat admits to losing $20,000 on every electric vehicle it sells in Europe. General Motors loses $9,000 on every Chevy Bolt. Even Tesla is partly sustained by selling zero-emissions credits to conventional car companies that actually make money (unlike Tesla).

Second Amendment & Armed Citizenry vs. Government Force: Historical Precedents | National Review
"History shows that an armed citizenry can, in fact, challenge a government it sees as unjust.
...it falls to me to take on the assertion, made in the New York Times by Michael Schermer, that guns in the hands of citizens aren’t a bulwark against tyranny.
But, of course, they are.
...Schermer writes: "Gun-rights advocates also make the grandiose claim that gun ownership is a deterrent against tyrannical governments.
...If you think stock piling firearms from the local Guns and Guitars store, where the Las Vegas shooter purchased some of his many weapons, and dressing up in camouflage and body armor is going to protect you from an American military capable of delivering tanks and armored vehicles full of Navy SEALs to your door, you’re delusional."
...But, Schermer has avoided the real argument.
The “defense against tyranny” claim does not hold that any one individual, or a tiny group, can defend any claim against the government with the force of arms.
And, of course, equal firepower was never the issue.
Even in the 1770s, an American government could raise a larger and better-outfitted force than what was present at Ruby Ridge or Waco Texas.
Civil society and good lawyers are all the defense you need against a non-tyrannical government.
But a tyranny, an invader, or a pretender-government are more effectively resisted with guns.
Sometimes people put Schermer’s argument more baldly.
They ask something like this: “Do you really think Bubba in camo gear hiding in the forest is going to take on the U.S. military? The U.S. military has nuclear weapons!”
Who exactly do you think has stymied the U.S. in Afghanistan for 16 years?
The Taliban is made up of Afghan Bubbas...
...The British Empire controlled one quarter of the world’s territory and ruled one quarter of the earth’s population in 1922.
In that very year, they were forced to make an effective exit from the main part of their oldest colony, Ireland.
...With just the moral support of the society they are living in, and a number of rifles, a small group of men can make it impossible for tyrants to rule."

According to Newsbusters:
Episode 12, “Monster Power,” teaches kids that a monster will eat them if they don’t use alternative clean energy sources. Albert, one of the students, has seen a movie in which the evil monster loves pollution and is “coming for us next for what we’ve done to this planet!” With the class camping in the woods, Miss Frizzle and the other students help him come up with clean energy alternatives (wind, water, etc) so they won’t be eaten.

Second Amendment Is the Argument | National Review
Second Amendment Is the Argument | National Review:
"You may be someone who believes that it would be safer to eliminate guns from the hands of the public, and that’s fine — but you still need to view your activism through the lens of constitutional process. You need to be lobbying legislators to amend the Constitution, rather than lobbying officials to create laws that disregard it. Why? Because the Constitution always matters. If you want to say that it shouldn’t always matter, or that should matter except on this issue, then really, what you’re saying is that it never truly does — because you yourself have already stated that exceptions are okay. Either the document has integrity or it doesn’t. Either it has the power to protect our freedoms or it doesn’t — and to me, that seems like an easy choice.

The Possible Las Vegas Motive That Only Mark Steyn Is Talking About | Daily Wire
"...Which begs the question: Why did he spend energy and time sneaking all those firearms into the hotel knowing that when bullets started flying, he wouldn’t get the chance to use even half of what he had on hand?
The writer of the email quoted in Steyn’s article believes the answer to motive is “publicity." Specifically, that “this man [Paddock] wished to telegraph to America in graphic form the hard irrefutable evidence that guns and gun ownership, and the ease of gun purchase in America are an evil and must be controlled.
On that hypothesis, everything now makes sense."
There’s no hard evidence to support this theory, of course, but one must admit, with the meager information we currently have at hand, it makes sense.
Steyn’s reader believes that Paddock did leave a message, “it only happens to be implicit instead of explicit.
That message is ‘guns.’
And that message is being trawled over every minute of every day on every network in America."
...If it is the case, however, that Paddock believed he was killing for “righteous” ends, this is clearly sinister idealism at work..."

Good call this morning Desmond. How many times do we need to lose to inferior MSU teams for us to take this seriously? Even most of John L's teams played us down to the wire. I'm sick of us playing down to MSU and we even looked uninspired out there. Meanwhile MSU is jacked up and played smart, ran the ball, and hung on to the ball. What is the problem here?

YouTuber Demonetized Hours after Rush Limbaugh Reads Her Article on His Show | Trending
"On the same day that Rush Limbaugh read my recent column on air, YouTube — in the dead of night — de-monetized a large percentage of videos on my channel.
My YouTube channel has been around for years with many recordings of very boring village meetings highlighting local Chicago-area corruption.
...Yesterday, October 5, after Rush read my article on his show, I made a video that included my reaction to him talking about it on the air.
It wasn't up for three hours before my videos started getting the dreaded yellow dollar signs — which means YouTube just took away my ability to be paid for them.
YouTube made sure that whatever bump in subscribers or views I got from Rush would not benefit me in any way.
...YouTube has been going after politically conservative content creators for a long time.
Paul Joseph Watson's videos have largely been de-monetized along with those of Trump-stumping sisters Diamond and Silk and other big-name conservative talkers.
Diversity & Comics creator Richard Meyer has received two strikes against his account in the last week.
One more will result in his account being deleted and his content lost forever.
All he knows is that his channel has been reported for dubious reasons by people who don't want to be criticized in the comics industry.
YouTube shows no desire to right such situations.
In fact, YouTube does not allow anyone to dispute the demonetization strikes unless the video in question receives 1000 views in the next seven days (go watch it—now!).
This makes it impossible for anyone without hundreds of thousands of subscribers to have a prayer of being monetized again..."
