"YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, MI - The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office responded to two reports of robbery of pizza delivery drivers over two days last week in Ypsilanti Township, with two 14-year-olds suspected in one of the incidents.
A 45-year-old delivery driver for a Happy's Pizza on Davis Street in Ypsilanti Township told sheriff's deputies on Oct. 27 he had been
assaulted by two suspects armed with black metal objects.
He told police the two suspects struck him several times in the face and head area before fleeing with cash and his vehicle, according to a report from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies later located the vehicle and took
two 14-year-old female Ypsilanti Township residents into custody.
The delivery driver was transported to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said.
The pair were taken to the Washtenaw County Juvenile Detention Center;
It was unclear if they remained in custody.
According to another report from the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a second robbery on Oct. 28 in the 2300 block of East Ellsworth Road, where a 22-year-old Benito's Pizza delivery driver, said he was robbed of $50 by an armed suspect.
The delivery driver told deputies the suspect implied he had a weapon and at first demanded the vehicle, and then fled on foot north toward Hewitt Road."
