Trump: No apology for travel ban Muslim comments - Washington Times:
"President Trump said Monday he won’t apologize for his past comments about Muslims and suggestions of a Muslim ban, saying he doubts it would make a difference to the courts that are deciding the legality of his travel ban policy.
“I think if I apologize it wouldn’t make 10 cents worth of difference. There’s nothing to apologize for,” Mr. Trump told The Washington Times at a press conference at the White House with the Nigerian president.
The travel ban went before the Supreme Court for oral argument last week, and the lawyer for Mr. Trump’s opponents, former top Obama administration litigator Neal Katyal, said if Mr. Trump would recant his previous statements the case against him could disappear."

A third of early deaths could be prevented by this diet change, say Harvard scientists
A third of early deaths could be prevented by this diet change, say Harvard scientists:
"Up to a third of early deaths could be prevented if we all switched to a vegetarian diet, according to new calculations by Harvard Medical School scientists.
While we already know about many of the benefits of not eating meat, this latest figure is much higher than previous estimates.
The researchers presented the figures at the Unite to Cure Fourth International Vatican Conference in Vatican City last week.
...Estimates vary between countries but roughly 30 million deaths every year across the globe are classed as "preventable" – those caused by things we can arguably do something about, such as obesity, smoking, poor diet, and so on.
...What this latest research suggests is that cutting back on meat could be better for us than we ever realised – at least in terms of avoiding an early death.
...Neal Barnard, president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, told the conference, as The Telegraph reports..."But when these diets are properly constructed I think they are enormously powerful.""

Quit meat totally and "save" (extend) the lives of .... 1/3 of 30 million whose deaths "could be prevented" divided by 7 billion (world population) = 1.4% possible "lives saved" if we ALL end eating meat for all the world's population..

Detroit released from state oversight; expensive debt and pension bills loom | MLive.com:
"The Detroit Financial Review Commission maintains oversight of the Detroit Public Schools Community District, which was created as a condition of a $617 million bailout of the city's public school district approved in 2016.
Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday approved an upcoming end to state receivership in Detroit after Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr suggested his job is complete.
The vote to restore City Council and mayoral powers occurred at Cadillac Place in Detroit's New Center, where at least one person spoke in favor of maintaining the review commission.
"It just seems to be here to make sure the city doesn't exceed its means, and it seems to have worked pretty well," said 31-year-old Nicholas Miller, a Midtown resident.
"I don't understand if, why something is working ... it has to be removed.
...Both of Detroit's pension systems, one for general employees and another for police and firefighters, are currently underfunded.
The general pension is funded at about 65 percent and the police and fire pension at 75 percent, according to Kevin Kubacki, executive director of the Financial Review Commission..."

Democrats Ignore Dossier In Russia Report | The Daily Caller:
"What a difference a year makes.
At a House Intelligence Committee hearing just over a year ago, Democrats on the panel focused heavily on the infamous Steele dossier, the salacious and unverified report alleging that the Trump campaign conspired with the Russian government to influence the 2016 election.
California Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the committee, made numerous references to Steele’s claims during an opening statement for the hearing, which was held on March 20, 2017. "

In a passing statement, North Korean officials said they wanted their regime to be a “normal country” and brought up the possibility of a “McDonalds-style” US investment.

- TommyJay Says:April 30th, 2018 at 5:38 pmThey need to be careful that they don’t get Venezuelaed. Many companies were in or went in after Chavez rose to power. Then the government nationalizes or confiscates the business assets. I recall hearing about Kimberley Clark when they got nationalized. Years later, the news was that many people in Venezuela were without toilet paper. Presumably because the gov. ran the factories into the ground.Though to be fair, I haven’t heard of any such calamities in Russia, and many U.S. companies have considerable assets there."

ANYTHING YOU DO THE CHENGDU BETTER.
ANYTHING YOU DO THE CHENGDU BETTER.
The United States Government has been hard at work developing the F-35 meanwhile China is designing their new fighters. The Chinese Government revealed the Chengdu J-20 as well as the Shenyang J-31, to tell the truth, they look familiar.
The reason that the new stealth fighters look so familiar is that China created them from stolen F-35 plans.
How could this happen? ...

Read all!“In January 2015 NSA slides from whistleblower Eric Snowden were released by German newspaper Der Spiegel. The slides show that Chinese hackers had stolen plans for the B-2, F-22 and F-35. All stealth aircraft. In total 50 terabytes of U.S. Government data were stolen, including the F-35’s stealth radar and engine systems. And when a new Chinese prototype, the J-31 was rolled out it brought, even more, similarities with U.S. stealth aircraft designs than the J-20.”...

Border Caravan? Call it the George Soros Express:
"Inside Philanthropy reported in 2016 that Soros, who has said that he considers himself to be “some kind of god,” began laying the groundwork for the foundation to continue his mission after he dies. Hacked Open Society Foundation documents published last summer shed light on the way in which Soros has used his foundation to advance progressive, open-borders policies both domestically and abroad.
In the U.S., his foundation has provided funding for the Black Lives Matter movement and open borders activists. The foundation has also provided funding to anti-Trump “resistance” groups, funded opposition research on critics of radical Islam and attempted to influence Supreme Court rulings."

At $75,560, housing a prisoner in California now costs more than a year at Harvard
At $75,560, housing a prisoner in California now costs more than a year at Harvard:
"The cost of imprisoning each of California’s 130,000 inmates is expected to reach a record $75,560 in the next year
More than tuition at Harvard University
That’s enough to cover the annual cost of attending Harvard University and still have plenty left over for pizza and beer.
...The price for each inmate has doubled since 2005, even as court orders related to overcrowding have reduced the population by about one-quarter.
Salaries and benefits for prison guards and medical providers drove much of the increase.
The result is a per-inmate cost that is the nation’s highest..."

Will Riley launches Stand for the Second, student walkout to support Second Amendment, gun rights - Washington Times:
"As Will Riley watched students stage this year’s walkouts for gun control, he grew frustrated with the message that his generation was somehow united against the Second Amendment.
“I’m seeing people saying, ‘We need to do something, we’ve got to enact some kind of legislation because this is for the kids.’ Well, I’m also the kids, and I don’t like that,” Mr. Riley told the Washington Times. “And there are other people like me. The other kids haven’t spoken yet.”"
