For New York AG, law only applies to some | Boston Herald:
You’d think an ambitious attorney general eager to make national headlines by grandstanding against a big-name pol could find something to prosecute in all of that. But it appears as though there are different rules for different people.

Comey's FBI Was Protecting The Presumed Clinton Presidency
Comey's FBI Was Protecting The Presumed Clinton Presidency:
In late October of 2016 James Comey knew Donald Trump’s candidacy was as dead as a doornail. That must be distinctly understood or nothing wonderful can come from the story I am going to relate. Time soothes the edges of old emotions. We forget the shock of that election night. Almost two years now of articles and TV takes, even books, make Trump’s election seem understandable, even sometimes inevitable.
But that’s not how it was then.

The Institute for Creation Research
The Institute for Creation Research:
"The greatest point of contention in the debate over “global warming” or “climate change” is not whether or not a significant increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) would warm the planet.
Carbon dioxide is a “greenhouse gas” that is very effective at absorbing and emitting infrared radiation, and so both sides in the debate generally agree that increased atmospheric CO2 would cause moderate warming, if everything else in the climate system were to stay the same.
...The real issue centers around this question:
How sensitive is the climate to changes in atmospheric CO2?
Those who are very concerned about global warming believe that climate “feedbacks” would enhance warming due to increased atmospheric CO2, possibly to dangerously high temperatures.
...Lewis and Curry concluded that climate sensitivity is relatively low...
Although this is by no means the first published estimate of climate sensitivity, Dr. Spencer noted that it was significant for two reasons.
First, the result was published in a well-known “mainstream” journal.
Second, Lewis and Curry took great pains to address the uncertainties and possible objections to their calculations...

Nikki Haley is killing it at the United Nations - Washington Times
Nikki Haley is killing it at the United Nations - Washington Times:
“It’s a new day at the @UN,” Haley tweeted, in the aftermath of the vote. “We were proud that more countries were on the right side of history … than weren’t, when it came to condemning Hamas and holding them responsible for Gaza.”
And the world is taking notice.
“While procedural maneuvers were used to block it, we’re proud that by working with the Americans and our friends around the world, a majority of nations in the U.N. voted for the first time to condemn the terrorists of Hamas,” tweeted Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon.
That’s huge. That’s historic. And that’s the big stick Haley’s been carrying for some time at the global body.

"A new paper about to be in press, comes at the end of a flurry of papers and reports published this week that claims Antarctica was losing ice mass. Zwally says ice growth is anywhere from 50 gigatons to 200 gigatons a year.

NASA glaciologist Jay Zwally says his new study will show, once again, the eastern Antarctic ice sheet is gaining enough ice to offset losses in the west.
Is Antarctica melting or is it gaining ice?
A recent paper claims Antarctica’s net ice loss has dramatically increased in recent years, but forthcoming research will challenge that claim.
A recent paper claims Antarctica’s net ice loss has dramatically increased in recent years, but forthcoming research will challenge that claim.
NASA glaciologist Jay Zwally first challenged the “consensus” on Antarctica in 2015 when he published a paper showing ice sheet growth in eastern Antarctica outweighed the losses in the western ice sheet.
Zwally will again challenge the prevailing narrative of how global warming is affecting the South Pole.

Jordan Peterson and Conservatism’s Rebirth - WSJ
"The psychologist and YouTube star has brought the concepts of order and tradition back to our intellectual discourse.
Jordan Peterson doesn’t seem to think of himself as a conservative.
Yet there he is, standing in the space once inhabited by conservative thinkers such as G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, Russell Kirk, William F. Buckley Jr. and Irving Kristol.
Addressing a public that seems incapable of discussing anything but freedom, Mr. Peterson presents himself unmistakably as a philosophical advocate of order.
His bestselling book, “12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos,” makes sense of ideas like the “hierarchy of place, position and authority,” as well as people’s most basic attachments to “tribe, religion, hearth, home and country” and “the flag of the nation.” The startling success of his elevated arguments for the importance of order has made him the most significant conservative thinker to appear in the English-speaking world in a generation.
Mr. Peterson, 56, is a University of Toronto professor and a clinical psychologist.
Over the past two years he has rocketed to fame, especially online and in contentious TV interviews..."
