Illegal border crossers now ineligible for asylum, White House says | Fox News:

The rule, which prevents migrants from claiming asylum if they do not do so at an official border crossing, is the latest attempt by the White House to handle a surge in migration to the U.S. from the Central American countries of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. President Trump is expected to formally enact the rule in a presidential proclamation Friday.

"CNN host and former Obama adviser Van Jones celebrated the midterm election results as a “rainbow wave” Tuesday night, declaring that the Democratic Party just got “younger,” “browner” and “cooler.”
“It is the end of one-party rule in the United States, thank God, and the beginning of a new Democratic Party — younger, browner, cooler, more women, more veterans,” Mr. Jones said after learning Democrats reclaimed control in the House.
“It may not be a blue wave — it’s a rainbow wave,” he said..."

Sarah Lawrence Professor's Office Door Vandalized After He Criticized Leftist Bias - Hit & Run : Reason.com
"Samuel Abrams says the college's president accused him of "attacking" the community and suggested he might be looking for a new job.

After penning an op-ed for The New York Times decrying the ideological homogeneity of his campus administration, a conservative-leaning professor at Sarah Lawrence College discovered intimidating messages—including demands that he quit his job—on the door of his office. The perpetrators had torn down the door's decorations, which had included pictures of the professor's family.
In the two weeks since the incident, Samuel Abrams, a tenured professor of politics at Sarah Lawrence, has repeatedly asked the college's president, Cristle Collins Judd, to condemn the perpetrators' actions and reiterate her support for free speech. But after sending a tepid campus-wide email that mentioned the importance of free expression, but mostly stressed her "commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence," Judd spoke with Abrams over the phone; according to him, she accused him of "attacking" members of the community.
"She said I had created a hostile work environment," Abrams said in an interview with Reason. "If [the op-ed] constitutes hate speech, then this is not a world that I want to be a part of..."

An unknown person left these signs on Samuel Abram’s door today, probably in response to his @nytimes op-ed. Story to follow.

Abrams believes the perpetrators tried to break into his office; some of his books had fallen off their shelves as if the sign-posters had slammed the door and the walls..."

7 Staggering Quotes Made by Progressive Democrats’ New Star:

Image result for flickr commons images Alexandria Ocasio-CortezAlexandria Ocasio-Cortez shocked political observers in June after defeating 10-term incumbent Congressman Joe Crowley, D-N.Y., in the Democratic primary for New York’s 14th District by nearly 14 points.
The 29-year-old self-described socialist who has become known as the “Sarah Palin of the Left” has used her new national voice to stump for left-wing challengers to establishment Democrats in primaries across the country.
As the fresh face of the progressive left heads to Washington, here’s a look back at some of the congresswoman-elect’s hot-button statements made in media appearances along the campaign trail.

Trump Makes History By Adding Seats to GOP Senate Majority in His First Midterm Election

Trump Makes History By Adding Seats to GOP Senate Majority in His First Midterm Election
"This is historic.
And President Trump was eager to tell the nation of his success tonight.
The President quoted Ben Stein tonight:
“There’s only been 5 times in the last 105 years that an incumbent President has won seats in the Senate in the off year election.
Mr. Trump has magic about him. This guy has magic coming out of his ears.
He is an astonishing vote getter & campaigner.
The Republicans are unbelievably lucky to have him and I’m just awed at how well they’ve done.
It’s all the Trump magic – Trump is the magic man.
Incredible, he’s got the entire media against him, attacking him every day, and he pulls out these enormous wins.”
Ben Stein, “The Capitalist Code”

Another failure of peer review, due to corrupt temperature data from a single station | Watts Up With That?
"...Notice anything odd?
I sure did.
As many of you know, I’ve spent years looking at weather stations around the world, spotting problems that contribute to temperature bias.
This one has at least four visible biases that will likely cause it to read warmer than it should, especially in the overnight Tmin temperature.
Here are the issues:
  1. Metal roof is nonstandard. It looks like they used the same sheet roof as the buildings in the background.Stevenson Screens are defined to have a wooden roof, painted white. I would expect this metal roof to bias the Tmax upwards in days with direct sun.
  2. Closer to surface than normal. While I can’t absolutely confirm this with a measurement, it appears the based of the Stevenson screen is about 1 meter from the surface, based on my experience with inspecting weather stations.  The standard is supposed to be a minimum of 1.5 meters. This will bias both the Tmax and Tmin upwards if my observation is correct.
  3. Cattle guard surrounding station. This metal structure will act like a heat sink, biasing the Tmin temperature upwards as it dumps the heat it has absorbed from the sun during the day.
...it is clear to me that combined, these three observed issues at the Rekomitjie Research Station will likely contribute an upward bias effect on temperatures measured by this station.
4. But wait, there’s more..."

Emile Ratelband, 69, argues that if transgender people are allowed to change sex, he should be allowed to change his date of birth because doctors said he has the body of a 45-year-old.
The entrepreneur and self-help guru is suing his local authority after they refused the amend his age on official documents.

The Shameful Election Coverage by Fox News | Trending

"...The Democrats went on to gain only 26 seats in a midterm in which Congress historically flips from the party in power.
This gain, while giving power of the House over to the Democrats -- an obvious disappointment for Republicans -- is not the indictment of Trump many think, particularly when you compare losses in previous administrations.

  • In 2010, Obama lost 63 seats.
  • In 1994, Clinton lost 52.
  • You have to go all the way back to Reagan to find a Republican loss the same as Trump’s -- 26 in 1982.

None lost their second term.
The shellacking Obama received in 2010 -- a nuclear explosion compared to 2018 -- was even more of an indictment of his presidency than we are seeing with Trump’s..."

Rush Limbaugh rips Republicans who bought 'media's blue wave scam,' ran from Trump - Washington Times

Rush Limbaugh rips Republicans who bought 'media's blue wave scam,' ran from Trump - Washington Times:

Image result for flickr commons images rush limbaughRush Limbaugh said Wednesday the biggest losers in the midterm elections were Republicans who believed a “blue wave” was coming and distanced themselves — literally and figuratively — from President Trump.
Mr. Limbaugh said the political takeaway from Tuesday night was that “all of these RINO or old-fashioned establishment Republicans who just couldn’t stand Trump” miscalculated by retiring or attacking Mr. Trump on the campaign trail.
“The most House seats ever lost by a president’s party in power was Obama in 2010,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “He lost 63. Next was Bill Clinton in 1994. He lost 52. … So it was not a blue wave, especially when you go over to the Senate. … I mean, nine out of 11 people the president personally stumped for won.”

So, what do blacks think of Trump today? Rasmussen’s tracking poll Monday found Trump’s approval among blacks at a record-high 40 percent, versus 50 percent nationwide. How could this be? The Trump-hating Left/media’s attacks have been ruthless, relentless, and more one-sided than a flounder. Answer: President Trump and Republican leadership have made black Americans better off than they were two years ago.

Need a Flu Shot? Get It Now - The New York Times

Need a Flu Shot? Get It Now - The New York Times:
"If you’ve waited until now to get your flu shot, your procrastination may actually pay off, though you’d be unwise to delay getting the vaccine any longer.
Image result for Flu ShotAlthough there are some cases of flu in October and November in the United States, flu season here doesn’t usually get going full speed until December, peaking in most years in February and usually ending by April.
I’ve just learned from Dr. Michael T. Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, that immunity induced by the flu vaccine, which is rarely greater than 60 percent to begin with, tends to wane by 20 percent a month, leaving those who got their shot in August or September with less than desirable protection by the time they’re exposed to a variant of flu virus their body doesn’t recognize.
Dr. Osterholm suggested that “since 95 percent of flu outbreaks start in mid-December, it’s best to get the flu shot in early to mid-November...”

"Murderous communists?

Take a look at what they are doing in Venezuela.
There’s another reality about the place, and it’s not getting the attention, say, Saudi Arabia or Russia is, over the killings of dissidents. The Maduro regime is showing an alarming willingness to violently attack opposition leaders, and it’s moving in on high-profile ones who had previously seemed untouchable. They’ve already jailed politician Leopoldo Lopez and driven many others into exile. But the regime’s people have stepped up the thuggery to higher levels since then. They tortured to death a city councilman who was then flung off a ten-story building earlier this month. And they encircled and beat up leading opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, likely signaling intent to kill.
Maduro’s abuses aren’t getting the same attention Khashoggi’s murder has because they can’t be used to embarrass the right people.---Posted by Stephen Green
