Jussie Smollett's alleged hoax got more media attention than my son, who was shot and killed in Chicago | Fox News

Carmia Tang with her son Jeremy Tang, who was shot and killed in Chicago September 3, 2017.Jussie Smollett's alleged hoax got more media attention than my son, who was shot and killed in Chicago | Fox News
"My son was shot and killed in Chicago – where is his national media attention?
My name is Carmia Tang.
My only child, Jeremy Alexander Tang, was murdered in Chicago on Sept. 3, 2017.
Jeremy’s murder case is among over 700 unsolved murders in Chicago.
I am disgusted by the national media attention that the Jussie Smollett case has received. Meanwhile – right now – we have hundreds of mothers left with unanswered questions and unsolved cases.
Parents and families of gun violence victims matter too.
Can we please get the same efforts and national media attention that Smollett got with his alleged attack?..."

See the source imageSwedish Court Convicts Man for Saying Somalis Are ‘Lazy’
"A Swedish court has convicted a 70-year-old man of “hate speech” for claiming on social media that Somalis are lazy and don’t work.
In a unanimous decision, the district court of Uddevalla handed down a guilty verdict, ordering the man to pay ...(700 euros).
The court said that the man’s Facebook post, which linked to an article by Swedish public broadcaster SVT, was “derogatory” to the reputation of Somalis as a group.
In his post, the man contested the article’s claim that some 20 percent of Somalis are out of work in Sweden, adding that Somalis avoid work because “they are the laziest people in this world.”
As Breitbart News reported, the pensioner was reported to police by the left-wing activist group Näthatsgranskaren, Swedish for “Network Examiner,” which boasts to have reported at least 800 people to the police..."

President Donald Trump vowed Friday to veto any legislation attempting to block his State of Emergency declaration on the Southern border.
“One hundred percent,” Trump said when asked by reporters at the White House if he would veto any legislation trying to block his order.
House Democrats led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi introduced a resolution on Friday to block Trump’s declaration.

A press blackout on news top FBI lawyer James Baker wanted Hillary Clinton prosecuted:

Image result for flickr commons images hillary clintonUp until now, Comey's "narrative" was that Clinton was "extremely careless" (not even "grossly negligent," which is actionable) and the book was closed on the matter, as Democrats brushed the whole thing off, while hackers and Russians and Chinese and terrorists got to dig into the goodies.
Clinton was supposed to be charged with mishandling classified documents, and she wasn't. Only three news sources are reporting this bombshell (I checked Google News, Yahoo! News, and DuckDuckGo): John Solomon of The Hill, Catherine Herridge of Fox News, and Sara Carter, all respectable heavyweights in investigative reporting, and their reports should easily merit news pickups.  But the nets are nowhere, the New York Times doesn't think such a revision to its "narrative" is fit to print, and the Washington Post is going to let that one die in darkness.
Shouldn't a story about favoritism be newsworthy?
The implication now is that laws are for little guys, like that Navy sailor who was prosecuted for carelessly taking a "hi, Mom"–type photo onboard a classified ship, but not for Madame Big.

  • School leaders wrote an email to students, declaring that “hate has no home on our campus.”
Folsom Lake College notified the local police after finding a poster of a cartoon frog, stating that “hate has no home on our campus.”
An FLC faculty member found the sheet featuring Pepe the frog on their office door earlier in February.
The school informed the Los Rios, California Police Department about the incident so it would “be on heightened alert for any signs that this may be part of a larger trend or pattern,” according to an email sent to the school community and obtained by Campus Reform..."

The true cost of faked hate crimes | Spectator USA

The true cost of faked hate crimes | Spectator USA:
  • Should we punish fraudulent victims as vigorously as real criminals?
"Some years ago I was introduced to one notion of how to tackle dishonest and insincere accusations of racism.
The idea was not just that there should be a social cost to making a dishonest claim, but that the cost should equal that borne by somebody who is accurately and correctly identified as a racist.
See the source imageWithout such a disincentive, there is no reason (other than decency and honesty, which may sometimes be in short supply) for people not to level such accusations insincerely.
Since Monday night I have been wondering, amid much else, whether some similar aspiration could be encouraged regarding hate crimes.
...It is possible it may now be added to the growing list of faked hate crimes in the US.
The journalist Andy Ngohas provided a useful list of some such cases here, and it is just extraordinary.
Cases like the pro-gay Episcopal church in Indiana which was vandalized with ‘Heil Trump’ graffiti after the election.
Like the Smollett case, this too was leaped upon on this as a demonstration of the new fascist era, until it turned out that the culprit was in fact the gay organist at the church.
...But then something happens that is real and you realize an even greater bit of damage that such faked hate crimes cause.
A damage which should mean we don’t just laugh them away.
...Faked hate crimes do a lot of things.
They increase societal distrust, they assault the truth and they inflame any existing racial or other communal tensions..."

If Jussie Smollett lied, look at the harm he caused Chicago — and America - Chicago Tribune

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, beard and foodIf Jussie Smollett lied, look at the harm he caused Chicago — and America - Chicago Tribune
"As TV actor Jussie Smollett told the tale, he was the victim of a politically motivated hate crime on a downtown Chicago street at 2 a.m. on a January morning.
That’s the story the Chicago Police Department investigated for more than three weeks.
...Smollett’s story about a hate crime riveted America.
Smollett said he was attacked by two men who hit him and yelled slurs.
They wrapped a rope around his neck, he said, splashed a chemical akin to bleach on him and shouted “This is MAGA country!” as if to connect their deed to President Donald Trump via his “Make America Great Again” campaign catchphrase.
...If Smollett’s story was bogus, the damage goes deeper: Smollett’s celebrity status generated intense national interest in his shocking allegation, exploiting the bleak narrative that America in 2019 is a place where intolerance not only occurs, but flourishes..."

"...The location was a big draw, as was, at least initially, the fact that the red pitched roof of the two-car garage was outfitted with 17 solar panels.
We’d get to do our bit for the planet.
...Two days after walking through Jug’s ham shack, we made an offer.
A week later, just before we entered escrow, we learned the solar array hadn’t belonged to Jug.
It was, in the language of the industry, a third-party-owner, or TPO, system, belonging to Sunrun Inc., the largest provider of residential solar in the U.S.
I started looking into the TPO model..."

"A Michigan Court of Appeals ruling could reinforce zero-tolerance workplace rules for marijuana even in cases in which a person has a medical marijuana card.
The Detroit Free Press reports Tuesday's ruling came in a lawsuit brought by Angela Eplee of Dimondale, who had said that the Lansing Board of Water and Light rescinded a 2017 job offer after she tested positive for marijuana even though she had a card allowing her to use the drug.
The board denied the test result was the reason for withdrawing the offer.
The trial court's dismissal of the case was upheld by the appeals court..."

The worst elections clerk in Michigan will help state develop election reformsWorst Mich. clerk will shape election reforms | Politically Speaking
"Somehow, some way, Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey has been named to serve on an election reform committee created by Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.
Despite Winfrey’s wayward reputation for Election Day messes, Benson may have decided that the panel had to include the clerk from Michigan’s largest city.
...The incumbent clerk barely won re-election after an aggressive campaign by Lt. Gov. Gilchrist that focused substantial criticism on the botched election process she oversaw in 2016.
When Gilchrist sought a recount, a review of the vote was deemed impossible – just as in the 2016 presidential election — because ballots at numerous precincts were badly mishandled.

2020 Democrats Embrace Race-Conscious Policies, Including Reparations - The New York Times
"From the very first day of the 2020 presidential race, when Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts blamed “generations of discrimination” for black families earning far less than white households, Democratic hopefuls have broadly emphasized racial justice and closing the wealth gap in their policy platforms.
See the source imageBut in recent weeks, some candidates have started embracing specific goals and overtly race-conscious legislation that even the most left-wing elected officials stayed away from in recent years.
Last week, Senator Kamala Harris of California agreed with a radio host’s recent suggestion that government reparations for black Americans were necessary to address the legacies of slavery and discrimination. Ms. Harris later affirmed that support in a statement to The Times.
...The morally driven policy goals of Ms. Harris and Ms. Warren reflect a broader shift in the importance of race and identity issues in the Democratic Party..."

Environmental Activists Pushed Chinese-Friendly Policies with Obama Administration
  • Green group denies need to register as foreign agent
"State Department email records show that environmental activists who have denied operating as foreign agents in response to congressional inquiries partnered with Obama administration officials to advance climate change policies that were beneficial to China and detrimental to the United States, according to energy policy analysts and attorneys who have reviewed the electronic correspondence.
Image result for Obama China's climate advocacy,The World Resources Institute, a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit devoted to curtailing greenhouse gas emissions... relationship with China's government and the impact this relationship has had on their political activism.
...WRI had denied its relationship with the Chinese government impacted its political activism to the point where it would be required to register under FARA.
However, the committee had obtained "communications" between WRI and "senior U.S. government officials" that suggest WRI has been operating to influence U.S. policy at behest of Chinese government officials, the letter explained.
...The email records demonstrate that Obama State Department officials devoted considerable time, attention and pubic resources toward assisting Morgan and WRI in their efforts to assist China's climate advocacy, Chris Horner, an attorney with Government Accountability and Oversight, told the Free Beacon.
..."WRI's overtures in very high places prompted State to scramble its China team to convene with Morgan to assist WRI's project on behalf of the Chinese, and led to WRI matchmaking Obama officials with Chinese officials eager to help make sure the climate train that they had, together, gotten to run so well, kept on chugging," Horner said.
