Whitmer proposes levying corporate income tax on 150,000 S-corps, LLCs:

"Increasing taxes on small businesses in particular will reduce available jobs, will reduce the monies available to increase wages, will reduce reinvestment in physical plant and assets (growth), and overall hinders business expansion."

Thomas Sowell warns U.S. may not resist siren song of socialism: 'I wouldn't bet on it' - Washington Times
"Thomas Sowell, a living legend in the field of economics, says he fears the U.S. may eventually succumb to the siren song of socialism.
The author of “Basic Economics,” “The Vision of the Anointed,” “The Quest for Cosmic Justice” and numerous other books said the U.S. may very well go down a path of financial ruin due to “wonderful-sounding” rhetoric.
...“I do have a great fear that, in the long run, we may not make it,” Mr. Sowell said.
“I hate to say that. The one thing that keeps me from being despairing is that we don’t know. There are so many things that we can’t possibly know. And so, we may make it, but I wouldn’t bet on it.”
The author said that time and time again, people adopt willful ignorance regarding socialism’s track record around the world..."

"Electric power grids in the U.S. employ 867 megawatt hours of storage capacity in the form of lithium ion batteries, which are used mostly to store reserve energy from renewable sources. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the hourly demand for electricity in the country on March 6 was 549,799 megawatt hours.
That means the amount of electric grid battery storage in the U.S. was enough to meet the nation’s electricity needs for 5.3 seconds."

Nobody says sorry anymore, they just retreat into a private reality where they are always right.
The Washington Post, still reeling from misidentifying the victim and aggressor in a story about Covington Catholic High School students and activist Nathan Phillips, simply slapped itself on the wrist with an Editor's Note admitting it got its account wrong and declared it all square.
That was better than YouTube, which allegedly deplatformed a retired Navy SEAL who debunked Nathan Phillips' claim that he was a Vietnam vet.
Retired Navy Seal Don Shipley has made it his life's mission to expose these shameless charlatans. His channel had 232,806 subscribers at the time it was taken down and had been in operation since around 2008.
He told PJ Media that he thinks his channel was taken down because he had "outed Nathan Phillips," who had "masqueraded as a Vietnam vet."
In Britain, politicians are calling for the frank censorship of "hate speech."

"If this post in Watts Up With That? is correct, an inadvertent, serendipitous scientific discovery is responsible for reshaping the modern world of geopolitics to America’s advantage – and nobody noticed.
...fracking was only half of the technology revolution that has remade the modern world.
...new satellite data reveals that North America is where most of the world’s hydrocarbon resources are located.
Read the whole thing, but this is the essence:...
...We came to know who had what, just what fossil fuel reserves existed in the Middle East, Russia, China, as well as with Friendlies, such as Europe, Australia, Canada, and Mexico. This information has enormous geopolitical significance…possibly the greatest geopolitical significance of any human discovery ever.
Despite the fantasies of greenies, oil and gas are the lifeblood of world power and of most economic activity.
With this knowledge and the ability to exploit it, the United States carries far more weight than it did ten years ago. "

Democratic presidents have signed federal spending legislation that included the Hyde amendment, which prohibits direct federal funding of abortion procedures through Medicaid.

Newsrooms that rushed to report tax refunds were smaller this year go silent on IRS data showing refunds have increased

Newsrooms that rushed to report tax refunds were smaller this year go silent on IRS data showing refunds have increased
"Tax refunds have increased by 1.3 percent from last year following the fourth week of the 2019 filing season, according to new Internal Revenue Service data.
...Oddly enough, certain newsrooms have responded to this development with total silence.
I say “odd” because it was just a few weeks ago that these same newsrooms covered the initial filing data, which showed the average tax refund this year has been smaller than in 2018.
These news organizations also suggested (both implicitly and explicitly) that the decrease is tied to the Republican Party’s tax reform bill
“Millions of Americans could be stunned as their tax refunds shrink,” read a headline published on Feb. 10 by the Washington Post.
  • The story reported, "Many Americans may confuse their meager refunds as a sign that they paid more in taxes as a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Generally, that is not true."
  • On Feb. 14, the Post ran a story titled, “IRS says average tax refund is down nearly 9 percent so far this year.”
  • That story included a line that reads, "Many early filers are still upset about getting a smaller refund or unexpectedly owing money, even if they did pay lower taxes overall as a result of the Republican tax bill that passed in December 2017."..."
...If the first round of refund numbers was enough to spark a feeding frenzy of media coverage suggesting tax-cut were to blame, why aren't these same newsrooms jumping all over these new IRS figures with similarly premature analysis?
And why did newsrooms even bother to cover the average figures (as opposed to the median) in the first place?
I think we can guess why.
I just want to hear them say it."

Biomass: Another “Green” Fraud | Power Line

Biomass: Another “Green” Fraud | Power Line
BIOMASS: ANOTHER “GREEN” FRAUD
"I would have said that nothing could exceed the folly of wind and solar energy, but biomass may come close.
This Vox article is headlined: “Europe’s renewable energy policy is built on burning American trees.” You no doubt have heard of “biomass,” but likely don’t know what it actually means.
As the headline suggests, it mostly means American trees.
In the lowland forests of the American southeast, loblolly pines and cypress trees are grabbing carbon dioxide from the air right now. Using power from the sun, they release the oxygen and bind the carbon, building trunks, barks, and leaves.
But much of that carbon won’t stay there. As it turns out, millions of tons of wood from these forests each year are being shipped across the Atlantic, and burned in power plants in countries like the UK and the Netherlands, in the name of slowing climate change.
This chart is revealing, to say the least.
I had no idea that burning trees played such a large role in Europe’s “green” energy initiative:
...What goes on a “renewable” list depends entirely on political influence..."

Image result for Jazmine BarnesOn December 30, 2018, at 7a.m., near Houston, Texas, Jazmine Barnes was riding in a car with her mother and her three sisters when she was shot to death by a stranger.
LaPorsha Washington, Jazmine's mother, was on a morning coffee run.
She too had been shot, but she survived.
Washington gave an interview from her hospital bed, describing the unique and precious life that was taken that day.
Jazmine was "so much fun”, a seven-year-old who would "boss everyone around…..The teachers loved her…. She brought so much joy and happiness to everybody around her. When she walks into a room, Jazmine is gonna kiss and hug everybody, even if she didn't know you."
...Jazmine's sister, Alxis Dilbert, and their mother described the shooter to police as a blue-eyed white man, driving a red pick-up truck.

    Image result for Jazmine Barnes
  • The face in the police sketch could be the poster model for any nightmare vision of an Aryan Nations boogeyman.
  • His skin is pale.
  • His clear, blue eyes are cold and merciless.
  • His long, straight nose is thin; his nostrils delicate.
  • His pale cheeks are hollow.
  •  The red pickup truck is the very vehicle the stereotype would require for a Southern, white supremacist.
  • The only missing accoutrements are a Confederate flag and a MAGA hat.
A "Justice for Jazmine" Go-Fund-Me page, begun by her father the day Jazmine was shot, raised $87,284.
NFL wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins donated his $29,000 playoff check to the family.
Shaquille O'Neal and a police officer chipped in to pay for Jazmine's funeral.
Celebrities Jayda Pinkett Smith and Gabrielle Union tweeted that the "evil monster" who killed Jazmine must be found. Hundreds rallied in Jazmine's name.
She was, to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, "everyone's child. The nation's child. Seen around the world … We are not going to be the do-nothing crowd. We are going to be the 'see-something-say-something' crowd … We need a national task force. Let the killer know that the heat is on and the heat is up."
Nation of Islam activist Deric Muhammad had insisted that a "white supremacist" murdered Jazmine. At a "Justice for Jazmine" rally, Muhammad asked, "Whose child?" In reply, the crowd chanted "Our child," multiple times. Rapper and activist A. J. McQueen demanded, "Let's talk about race! Imagine a baby girl. What if her first words were 'Please don't shoot'? Let's talk about race!"
Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King joined in.
King is controversial.
He claims to be biracial, but the parents listed on his birth certificate are white – thus his nickname "Talcum X."
King has faced numerous other controversies.
King tweeted a photograph of Jazmine's coffin with the caption, "A tiny little casket. My God." On January 4, 2019, on twitter, King named a man, Robert Cantrell, whom he believed to be Jazmine's killer.
Cantrell did indeed look just like the man in the police sketch.
"We've had 20 people call or email us and say he is a racist, violent asshole and always has been. Just tell me everything you know," King tweeted.
...When Jazmine Barnes was the victim of a white man, she was front page news.
After January 6, 2019, when a black man was charged with Jazmine's murder, her name disappeared from the national conversation.
Malcolmxxx5, a man posting on Shaun King's twitter feed, wrote, "When some blk folk thought it was a white person they were tweeting their butts off, 1000's of tweets. Now that they know its blk thugs behind it, tweets dam near got cold. Thats sad in itself."

Democrats in the Michigan House and Senate introduced a new bill Thursday that would allow law enforcement officials to remove guns before a crisis happens. This is
The Red Flag law would be targeted toward people who may pose a serious threat to public safety. A Michigan sheriff said this is not law enforcement officials deciding on their own who poses a risk. Typically concern comes from family members or those around an at-risk individual who may have their firearms taken.

I called for diversity of thought. My peers compared me to a neo-Nazi. - The College Fix
See the source image"As I took part in a recent student leadership board meeting for the Department of Political Science at Boston University, a group that works to advise faculty on ways to improve, I offered some advice: the department could use more intellectual diversity.
I suggested more debates in the classroom, as opposed to what I had witnessed in my three years at the school, that being an assumption during class that everyone agrees.
I broached my idea after I had sat and respectfully listened to the ideas of others for an hour, but my peers, and a professor and an administrator in the room, were not about to return the favor.

  • One student chided me that “debate” was too aggressive of a word, that I should use “discussion” instead.
  • Another student, a College Democrat in the room, then compared me to a well-known peer from Boston University who is often regarded as a neo-Nazi and who went to the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, noting “he has sat here in these seats asking for intellectual diversity as well.”

I felt shocked and insulted.
I waited to see if either the professor or administrator or any of the other students in the room would defend me.
None did
One student suggested conservatives shouldn’t major in political science at Boston University, as they’d have a hard time.
The room erupted in laughter.
I wish I could say I was surprised.
But after years of experiencing liberal bias, both at Boston University as well as Lehigh University, where I attended before I transferred, it felt like just another day on campus.
To that end, there are plenty of anecdotes I could supply.
Here are just a few.

  • As a freshman, or as the administration likes to say to avoid being sexist— as a “first-year”— I was required to take an English class. My instructor was a teaching assistant, but insisted we call her professor. The morning after President Trump won, she dismissed class early because she could not stop crying..."
