Millennial Repo: Car Loan Defaults on the Rise | The American Spectator

See the source imageMillennial Repo: Car Loan Defaults on the Rise | The American Spectator
"An interesting data nugget percolated the other day about a “sharp worsening” — that is to say, an increase — in the number of car loan defaults among borrowers under 30 years old.
According to Bloomberg Financial News, the rate for the Millennial demographic was 4.04 percent last quarter vs. 2.36 for the general population, or about twice as high.
But it’s not just The Youth who are in danger of having their cars repo’d.
The overall delinquency rate last quarter was at its highest level since 2012 — and the total number of car loans (new and used) as well as leases is up by 5.2 percent.
More people, in other words, are buying cars they can’t afford.
What’s especially interesting is that the increase in delinquencies isn’t happening in parallel with a recession.
Unemployment is at a 50-year low.
People aren’t defaulting on their car loans because they lost their jobs..."

It's like skiing isn't dangerous enough!-----Multiple cars trapped under 15 feet of snow after massive avalanche near Copper Mountain | SummitDaily.com

Multiple cars trapped under 15 feet of snow after massive avalanche near Copper Mountain | SummitDaily.com:
"UPDATE at 6:10 p.m.: According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, four cars were caught in the avalanche on CO 91, though there were no injuries.
The department said that it was the first ever recorded avalanche on Resolute Cliff, an area CDOT has never performed mitigation work.
UPDATE at 4:39p.m.: Colin Remillard, a spokesperson with Colorado State Patrol, said that in addition to the massive avalanche that trapped cars on CO 91, there were “multiple” others in the same area. Where exactly they occurred or to what extent is currently unknown.
Charles Pitman, spokesperson with the Summit Rescue Group, said that it’s still unclear how many cars were trapped in the slide on CO 91, but said at least one vehicle was turned completely upside down and totally buried. The driver has been extricated, and no injuries have been reported.
Original Story:
At about 4 p.m. today a massive avalanche hit State Highway 91 by milepost 21, near Copper Mountain. Multiple cars were trapped in the slide, though there are no reports of injuries.
The avalanche covered about 300 feet of the roadway, with snow about 15 feet deep, said Colin Remillard, a spokesman with the Colorado State Patrol. Remillard said that at least two cars and as many as four were trapped in the slide. The people inside the cars were rescued, though the cars are still trapped in the roadway.
Remillard said Colorado State Patrol is expecting a “very extended” closure."

No to Green New Deal. Yes to Media New Deal! - WND:

Image result for Freediom of SpeechYou hear it every day – from all the Democratic presidential candidates and 98 percent of the media: The existential threat facing America and the world is … climate change. They are in agreement that we must adopt a radical new lifestyle of coercive government control, stop using gas-powered cars and trucks, do without air travel, stop raising children.
But in truth we don’t need to adopt a Green New Deal to save the planet.
We need to adopt a Media New Deal to save free speech, the free press, freedom of religion and free elections.
That’s what we need.
And we don’t have 10 or 12 years to do it. We may only have until 2020.
America’s freedom has never faced a greater threat. The Democratic Party leadership is now dominated by openly brazen socialists and semi-closeted ones. The Big Media are in the tank for them as never before. And, this time, the biggest and most powerful tech monopolies in the world are censoring dissent, actively destroying the independent media, subverting President Trump at every turn and plotting a putsch for a radical New World Order.
I know I may sound a little … out there today.
But hear me out.

Yeah, this looks like a border crisis

Yeah, this looks like a border crisis:

Image result for flickr commons images border crossingMore than 76,000 migrants crossed the southern border illegally last month, the highest number in 12 years. So much for all those media “fact checks” arguing that there’s no emergency to justify President Trump’s wall.
Immigration officials say the number is only going to increase, creating what Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan warns is “a border security and a humanitarian crisis.”
Why are they coming in such vast numbers? Because smugglers have put them wise to how to take advantage of recent court decisions to claim asylum and remain here indefinitely.

Groupthink | Federal Healthcare Fraud | Fraud of the Day

Groupthink | Federal Healthcare Fraud | Fraud of the Day:
"Fraudsters can be said to suffer from “Groupthink,” a way of thinking where a group of individuals reaches a conclusion that is thought to be correct, whether it is or not.
Fraudsters tend to think that they deserve to receive government benefits when they really don’t.
See the source imageIn their own mind, they justify this dysfunctional line of thinking and commit criminal acts that steal from others.
A Cheyenne, Wyoming psychologist and his wife were part of the erroneous opinion that they deserved to collect more money than they deserved from the Wyoming Medicaid program.
They stole $6.2 million from the government health program in a healthcare fraud billing scam that targeted patients who supposedly received group therapy.
...Today’s fraud case is a good example of why it’s not always a good idea to go along with the group. (While fraudsters widely conclude that they will get away with stealing taxpayer dollars, their group mentality is flawed.)
Ironically, they are bound for prison where they will become a part of an even wider group of flawed thinkers..."

"...Though the organization's ties to abortion conglomerate Planned Parenthood have been known for years, the Girl Scouts of America have yet to be so forthright about their closeted support for abortion.
Until now.
...the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona honored a girl for her volunteer work on "reproductive health justice."
"Meghna Gopalan, recently profiled in a Tucson publication, received the Gold Award, the Girl Scouts highest honor, for her work," reports LifeNews.

"I’m planning on hosting an event to educate people about and de-stigmatize access to women’s healthcare," Meghan Gopalan said.
"I’ve been working with El Rio Reproductive Health Access Project, and they offered ideas on reproductive health justice which would broaden the scope of the project a little bit.
I got interested in the topic with the Supreme Court nomination of [Brett] Kavanaugh …"
Christy Volanski, co-editor of MyGirlScoutCouncil.com, said the Girl Scouts have a "cozy relationship" with the abortion industry.
Former Girl Scouts CEO Kathy Cloninger even once admitted on NBC: "We partner with many organizations.
We have relationships with … Planned Parenthood organizations across the country."..."

"Increasing taxes on small businesses in particular will reduce available jobs, will reduce the monies available to increase wages, will reduce reinvestment in physical plant and assets (growth), and overall hinders business expansion."

Thomas Sowell warns U.S. may not resist siren song of socialism: 'I wouldn't bet on it' - Washington Times
"Thomas Sowell, a living legend in the field of economics, says he fears the U.S. may eventually succumb to the siren song of socialism.
The author of “Basic Economics,” “The Vision of the Anointed,” “The Quest for Cosmic Justice” and numerous other books said the U.S. may very well go down a path of financial ruin due to “wonderful-sounding” rhetoric.
...“I do have a great fear that, in the long run, we may not make it,” Mr. Sowell said.
“I hate to say that. The one thing that keeps me from being despairing is that we don’t know. There are so many things that we can’t possibly know. And so, we may make it, but I wouldn’t bet on it.”
The author said that time and time again, people adopt willful ignorance regarding socialism’s track record around the world..."

"Electric power grids in the U.S. employ 867 megawatt hours of storage capacity in the form of lithium ion batteries, which are used mostly to store reserve energy from renewable sources. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the hourly demand for electricity in the country on March 6 was 549,799 megawatt hours.
That means the amount of electric grid battery storage in the U.S. was enough to meet the nation’s electricity needs for 5.3 seconds."

Recently, "a man being sought for the assault of a conservative activist on the University of California, Berkeley campus [was] arrested."
See the source imageThere is less and less regret for incivility.
Nobody says sorry anymore, they just retreat into a private reality where they are always right.
The Washington Post, still reeling from misidentifying the victim and aggressor in a story about Covington Catholic High School students and activist Nathan Phillips, simply slapped itself on the wrist with an Editor's Note admitting it got its account wrong and declared it all square.
That was better than YouTube, which allegedly deplatformed a retired Navy SEAL who debunked Nathan Phillips' claim that he was a Vietnam vet.
Retired Navy Seal Don Shipley has made it his life's mission to expose these shameless charlatans. His channel had 232,806 subscribers at the time it was taken down and had been in operation since around 2008.
He told PJ Media that he thinks his channel was taken down because he had "outed Nathan Phillips," who had "masqueraded as a Vietnam vet."

"If this post in Watts Up With That? is correct, an inadvertent, serendipitous scientific discovery is responsible for reshaping the modern world of geopolitics to America’s advantage – and nobody noticed.
...fracking was only half of the technology revolution that has remade the modern world.
...new satellite data reveals that North America is where most of the world’s hydrocarbon resources are located.

...We came to know who had what, just what fossil fuel reserves existed in the Middle East, Russia, China, as well as with Friendlies, such as Europe, Australia, Canada, and Mexico. This information has enormous geopolitical significance…possibly the greatest geopolitical significance of any human discovery ever.
Despite the fantasies of greenies, oil and gas are the lifeblood of world power and of most economic activity.
With this knowledge and the ability to exploit it, the United States carries far more weight than it did ten years ago. "

Consider that in 2003, 63 House Democrats and 17 Senate Democrats voted in favor of a federal ban on partial-birth abortion. In 2005, 54 House Democrats voted in favor of the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, which would have made it illegal for a non-parent to circumvent parental-involvement laws by taking a minor across state lines for an abortion. Democratic presidents have signed federal spending legislation that included the Hyde amendment, which prohibits direct federal funding of abortion procedures through Medicaid.
