The fizzling out of the corrupt Mueller investigation is a great victory for the rule of law and our constitutional republic. Here is the statement Judicial Watch issued in response Attorney General Barr’s initial summary of the special counsel’s report.

Opinion | Donald Trump Is Trying to Kill You - The New York Times
There’s a lot we don’t know about the legacy Donald Trump will leave behind.
And it is, of course, hugely important what happens in the 2020 election.
But one thing seems sure:
Even if he’s a one-term president, Trump will have caused, directly or indirectly, the premature deaths of a large number of Americans.
- Some of those deaths will come at the hands of right-wing, white nationalist extremists, who are a rapidly growing threat, partly because they feel empowered by a president who calls them “very fine people.”
- Some will come from failures of governance, like the inadequate response to Hurricane Maria, which surely contributed to the high death toll in Puerto Rico. (Reminder: Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens.)
- Some will come from the administration’s continuing efforts to sabotage Obamacare, which have failed to kill health reform but have stalled the decline in the number of uninsured, meaning that many people still aren’t getting the health care they need. Of course, if Trump gets his way and eliminates Obamacare altogether, things on this front will get much, much worse.
- But the biggest death toll is likely to come from Trump’s agenda of deregulation — or maybe we should call it “deregulation,” because his administration is curiously selective about which industries it wants to leave alone..."

Mark Steyn Reacts To New Climate Change Theory: ‘I Can Get On Board With This One’ | Watts Up With That?
"Conservative author and commentator Mark Steyn reacted Thursday to a new climate change theory asserting that toxic masculinity is to blame for global warming.
And at first I didn’t really buy that, but as I think about it, I think in fact it’s actually one of the least visible climate science thesis of recent years.
"Conservative author and commentator Mark Steyn reacted Thursday to a new climate change theory asserting that toxic masculinity is to blame for global warming.
In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Steyn discussed a new study from Dr. Aaron Brough of Utah State University that concluded that behavior attempting to reverse climate change is a mostly feminine trait, and that men don’t engage in such behaviors as often because of some responsibility to their sense of self.
“Well, I confess I was at first skeptical,” Steyn said.
“If I understand this thesis, my insecurities about my masculinity are causing rising sea levels in the Maldives. And at first I didn’t really buy that, but as I think about it, I think in fact it’s actually one of the least visible climate science thesis of recent years.
I’m kind of on board with where they are going on this.”
“I think, in fact, it’s very difficult to tell, with social science as with climate science, whether or not it’s an ingenious parody,” Steyn continued.”..."

Her Green New Deal is as much dead in the water as it is brain dead and constitutes a fabulous talking point for the GOP to run on in 2020.
But there is a point of concern — and in the long run a more important one.
AOC represents the natural outgrowth of our extraordinarily biased higher educational system.
...Think I exaggerate?
...Think I exaggerate?
Consider the level of writing and thinking in her Green Deal...
...This document, if one can call it that, resembles nothing more than the kind of swill presented to — and highly approved by — professors in today's grievance-obsessed colleges...

....Nevertheless, she has brought along with her almost all of the declared Democratic Party candidates...
That's what I mean about the danger of our educational system.
...The real problem is our colleges (and earlier education, obviously) that are turning out the likes of AOC on an assembly line of the sort that drove Charlie Chaplin mad in Modern Times.

As I wrote elsewhere, only 20 percent of colleges have even one Republican on the faculty.
Imagine the indoctrination that is going on.
...This is a new form of proud Know-Nothingism.
We can't even say it will come back to haunt us because it already is doing just that. Reforming our educational system is the most important mission of our time. ).

The folly of 'Red Flag' gun laws - Washington Times
"...the laws are more complicated than usually discussed in the press.
Depending upon the state, anyone from a family member, intimate partner, ex, house or apartment mates, or police can file a complaint.
Under Colorado’s proposed law, anyone can make a phone call to the police.
They don’t even have to be living in the state. There is no hearing.
All the judge has before them is the statement of concern.
As in the Tom Cruise movie, “Minority Report,” all you have to do is figure out who is going to commit the crime...
Fourteen states have now adopted these laws.
...In the first nine months after Florida passed its Red Flag law last year, judges granted more than 1,000 confiscation orders.
...Little certainty is needed.
Some states allow initial confiscations on just a “reasonable suspicion,” which is little more than a guess or a hunch.
...Only one state’s law mentions mental illness.
...Everyone wants to stop mass public shooters.
But we haven’t previously punished people because we have little more than a hunch, without any specific rules, that they might be a danger.
Sheriff Steve Reams knows that the low standards mean that there are going to be a lot of mistakes. Stopping “future crimes” didn’t work in the movies, and they aren’t working in real life."

The views expressed in this commentary are his own.
Progressives wonder how in the world could anyone still support President Donald Trump.
So here are ten reasons why more than 40% of the electorate probably does -- and will.
1. Voters appreciate that the economy is currently experiencing near record-low peacetime unemployment, record-low minority unemployment, and virtual 3% annualized GDP growth...
2. Trump does not exist in a vacuum.
Many supporters turned off by some of his antics are still far more appalled by an emerging radical neo-socialist Democratic agenda.
If the alternative to Trump is a disturbing tolerance among some Democrats for anti-Semitism, the Green New Deal, reparations, a permissive approach to abortion even very late in pregnancy, a wealth tax, a 70-90% top income tax rate, the abolition of ICE, open borders, and Medicare for all, Trump's record between 2017-20 will seem moderate and preferable.
Progressives do not fully appreciate how the hysterics and media coverage of the Kavanaugh hearings, the Covington teenagers and the Jussie Smollett psychodrama turned off half the country. Such incidents and their reportage confirmed suspicions of cultural bias, media distortions, and an absence of fair play and reciprocity..."

2020 climate madness looms | CFACT
"The year 2020 is shaping up to be one of madness when it comes to the climate change debate. Several huge milestones are in the cards and these cards are on the table.
One is the US Presidential election, where the entire world wants to see if President Trump can pull off another skeptical miracle...
...In UN-world there are two monster milestones in 2020.
By far the biggest is that the mythical $100 billion a year is supposed to start flowing from America and the rest of the supposedly guilty developed countries, to the developing countries, who claim to be suffering increasingly bad weather because of our prosperity.
...So if Trump wins and the big bucks don’t show the whole house of green cards just might collapse.
This is going to make for a very tense (and loud) year on the climate change front.
Things are already heating up here in 2019.
Topping the list is the truly extreme Green New Deal proposal.
Most of the Democrat presidential candidates have endorsed the GND, which guarantees it will be a major nomination issue.
...On the UN side the Secretary General Antonio Guterres is hosting a special September meeting of national governments, specifically designed to elicit increased ambitions in their new 2020 climate action plans.
...The Secretary General’s invitation is reported as including this unusually tough talk:
...“I am calling on all leaders to come to New York in September with concrete, realistic plans to enhance their nationally determined contributions by 2020.”
Ominously, there is also a special track on the “mobilization of youth“.
So all things considered, 2020 may be the year of the climate crescendo..."

Lessons From the Past, by Dr. Thomas Sowell | Creators Syndicate
"Seventy-one years ago this month — in January 1948 — a black, 17-year-old high school dropout left home.
The last grade he had completed was the 9th grade.
He had no skills, little experience, and not a lot of maturity.
Yet he was able to find jobs to support himself, to a far greater extent than someone similar can find jobs today.
I know because I was that black 17-year-old.
And, decades later, I did research on economic conditions back then.
Back in 1948, the unemployment rate for 17-year-old black males was just under 10 percent, and no higher than the unemployment rate among white male 17-year-olds.
How could that be, when we have for decades gotten used to seeing unemployment rates for teenage males that have been some multiple of what it was then — and with black teenage unemployment often twice as high, or higher, than white teenage unemployment?
Many people automatically assume that racism explains the large difference in unemployment rates between black and white teenagers today.
Was there no racism in 1948?
No sane person who was alive in 1948 could believe that. Racism was worse — and of course there was no Civil Rights Act of 1964 then.
How then could there be this low unemployment rate, with virtually no racial difference?
Racism is despicable.
But that tells us nothing about what weight it has — compared to other factors — as a cause of particular social problems such as unemployment..."

Doctors Are Now Giving 8-Year-Old Girls Testosterone, Claiming They're 'Transgender' | Daily Wire
"According to medical doctors and a parent of a gender non-conforming child speaking on a panel for the Heritage Foundation, their quest to stop dangerous transgender treatments on minors has exposed that “government-funded research now allows wrong sex hormones such as testosterone to be given to girls as young as 8,” reported The Christian Post on Tuesday.
Through FOIA requests, Dr. Michael Laidlaw, a California-based endocrinologist, and some of his colleagues “found that in 2017 they lowered the minimum age for cross-sex hormones from 13 to 8,” the report said.
”Imagine giving 8-year-old girls testosterone," Laidlaw offered.
”They are in 3rd or 4th grade. This is unbelievable. But this is going on."...

Sherer explained that puberty blockers are given to children at age 8 or 9, when they are in third and fourth grades. Olson-Kennedy is doing a 5-year study, for which she has received a $5.7 million National Institutes of Health research grant, and in one of her publications, it shows that mastectomies have been done on girls as young as 13. In the clip Laidlaw showed, Olson-Kennedy is seen on tape insisting adolescents have the capacity to make life-altering decisions, including to have their breasts removed.
Gender-confused teen girls as young as 13, Laidlaw warned, are having their breasts removed via mastectomy procedures, and boys the age of 17 are developing penises the developmental age of a nine-year-old’s or losing sexual sensation all together due to hormone blockers.
"These parents are being lied to as their children are harmed and their families are torn apart."

- The Federalist Society at Yale Law School recently incurred the wrath of students because it invited Kristen Waggoner to speak. Waggoner is a renowned attorney at a public-interest law firm who was part of a successful Supreme Court case. Why would a speaking invitation to a successful female attorney trigger the Yale lefties? Their outrage was stoked because the case Waggoner won was Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, in which her employer, Alliance Defending Freedom, successfully protected Jack Phillips’ freedom of conscience. Phillips wouldn’t create a cake celebrating a same-sex wedding. Working for ADF made Waggoner unfit to speak at Yale, the students argued.
- Shortly after this, halfway across the country, the San Antonio City Council approved an expansion of the airport on the condition the airport exclude a Chick-fil-A that was in the original plan. The reason is that Chick-fil-A is deemed guilty of “anti-LGBTQ behavior” because its owners view marriage in the same way it has been viewed for all but the last few of the past few thousand years: as an exclusively heterosexual institution.
