"To plagiarize T.S. Eliot, April is the cruelest month.
But not for the reasons the poet wrote.
Rather, for all the taxes.
...There are a whole bunch of taxing ideas in the Capitol: on new tires, firearms, water, prescription painkillers, lawyers, car batteries, corporations based on their CEO pay, estates worth more than $3.5 million, oil and gas extraction.
The list goes on.
...with backing from the California medical and dental associations. It would hike the tax on sugary soda by 2 cents an ounce, or 24 cents for a 12-ounce can.

New Reuters Poll Proves That Many Americans Can’t Think for Themselves | Intellectual Takeout
"It is generally believed that America is more polarized than ever.
...But a recent survey by Reuters casts a bit of doubt on how well people really know their own minds and understand the political principles they say they adhere to.
It appears that many Americans base their views on whether a particular authority figure holds them.
As Reuters explains, surveyors read a variety of political statements which Donald Trump made on the campaign trail to mixed groups of Republicans and Democrats.
One group was told that each statement was made by Trump; the other omitted that important detail. In almost every case, Democrat support for the statement decreased when Trump’s name was attached, while Republican support increased.
Government-run health care is a prime example of this.
When asked if government should take care of everyone, 68 percent of Democrats agreed.
Only 33 percent of Republicans did the same.
But when Trump’s name was thrown into the ring, both parties had a sudden change of heart. Democrats in particular exhibited a 20 percent drop in support for government-run health care..."

Did Stefan Halper Try to Frame General Flynn? - The Rush Limbaugh Show:
Now, here we go with Svetlana Lokhova. She comes into play. She’s a Russian historian and she was linked by our old buddy Stefan Halper. Stefan Halper was responsible for flooding the news with a story that she was having an affair with Michael Flynn. And this was in the early stages of getting rid of Flynn.
Michael Flynn, of course, supposedly violating the law by having lunch with the Russian ambassador. And that’s all the Russian ambassador did was have lunch with people. Finally got Flynn on supposedly lying to the FBI when even the agents that interviewed him didn’t think that he had lied to them.
Well, now Svetlana Lokhova is speaking out and claims that she was manipulated into entrapping Flynn. Catherine Herridge had the story and then she was on with Tucker Carlson on Thursday. She’s a Russian born academic, the center of attention in 2017 for her past contact with Michael Flynn, the national security adviser for Trump. And she believes that she was used to smear Flynn.

Now for what it looks like up close:
Socialist Venezuela is an exploding supernova of spreading disease vectors, with its three million fleeing refugees bringing measles, malaria, diptheria, typhoid fever, tuberculosis, AIDS, Zika, leprosy, dengue, chikungunya virus, and other diseases long thought to have been eradicated in the early 20th century, with them.
...As disasters go, it's entirely man-made and entirely preventable and fixable.
Impoverished African countries take care of these matters all the time.

Clean energy job creation numbers artificially inflated - American Experiment
Isaac Orr, Policy Fellow at Center of the American Experiment, released the following statement in response to Clean Energy Economy Minnesota’s job creation claims:
“The moneyed interests behind wind and solar energy like to pat themselves on the back for creating new jobs, but their claims are artificially inflated.
According to their own report, 76% of the jobs they’re claiming to create already exist in industries that are only loosely related to energy efficiency, like installers of energy-efficient doors and appliances.
Meanwhile, you never hear about the jobs that will be destroyed when energy prices skyrocket, because employers will have less money available to pay salaries and benefits.”
Center of the American Experiment recently released a report which used the economic modeling software IMPLAN, which is standard among economists, to find 20,950 jobs would be destroyed by higher electricity prices if Minnesota were to pursue a 50% renewable energy mandate.

Ocasio-Cortez: We Have To Break "The Mistaken Idea" That Taxes Pay For All Spending | Video | RealClearPolitics:
"Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) declared that we must "break the mistaken idea" that taxes pay for 100% of government spending in an interview with NPR's Steve Inskeep on Thursday to promote her 'Green New Deal' legislative proposal.
"The first thing that we need to do is kind of break the mistaken idea that taxes pay for a hundred percent of government expenditure. It's just not how government expenditure works," Ocasio-Cortez explained.
Ocasio-Cortez believes that the economy will grow if money is borrowed to make an "investment" in the Green New Deal and it will eventually pay for itself.
The host reminded Ocasio-Cortez that thinking is exactly what was behind the Trump tax cut -- something she opposes -- that it will pay for itself, and it "hasn't turned out to be true at all."...

Who Commits Most of the World’s Extremist Violence? | City Journal
"Last week, the New York Times featured an illustrated timeline of “white extremist” killings over the last nine years, with lines demonstrating citation and affiliation among the killers.
According to the Times, the record shows “an informal global network of white extremists whose violent attacks are occurring with greater frequency in the West.”
The idea that white supremacist violence is a growing global threat has gained more currency recently, notably in the wake of the ghastly Christchurch mosque massacre, when an avowed white nationalist murdered 50 Muslims.
New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, for instance, asserted that “White supremacists committed the largest # of extremist killings in 2017.”
No one will deny that racial hatred is an evil ideology, and that people who kill in the name of white supremacy commit evil—but is it true that white extremists are sowing a growing amount of worldwide mayhem?
The evidence suggests otherwise.
Even a superficial glance at the record indicates that of the nearly 20,000 people killed in thousands of extremist killings in 2017, white supremacists were responsible for very few..."

Rose Marie Bentley lived for 99 years with organs in all the wrong places and never knew it - CNN
"On an early spring day in 2018, the faint smell of formaldehyde floating in the air, 26-year-old medical student Warren Nielsen and four of his classmates prepped a cadaver in the chilly dissection lab at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.
...The cadaver assigned to Nielsen's team was a 99-year-old woman who had died of natural causes.
Her name was Rose Marie Bentley, but the students didn't know that then.
...But as the students and their professors were soon to find out, Bentley was special, so special she deserved her own unique spot in medical literature and history books.
The reason?
A condition called situs inversus with levocardia, in which most vital organs are reversed -- almost like a mirror inside the body.
That, along with a host of other weird but wonderful abnormalities, made Bentley a sort of medical unicorn..."

Judicial Watch Uncovers ‘Cover-Up’ Discussions in Latest Production of Clinton Email Documents - Judicial Watch:
Judicial Watch announced today that it uncovered 422 pages of FBI documents showing evidence of “cover-up” discussions related to the Clinton email system within Platte River Networks, one of the vendors who managed the Clinton email system. The documents also show Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) Charles McCullough forwarding “concerns” about classified information in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails.
The new documents uncovered by Judicial Watch also contain Clinton’s 2009 classified information Non-Disclosure Agreement bearing her signature.
An October 2016 Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:16-cv-02046)) forced the release of the new FBI documents. Judicial Watch rightly puts the screws to Justice and the FBI
Judicial Watch rightly puts the screws to Justice and the FBI:
Because Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., seems loath to do real oversight, the outside organization Judicial Watch is very much on target in filing a lawsuit demanding “records of the planning and preparation of the raid of the home of former Trump campaign aide Roger Stone.”
Former Trump lawyer John Dowd, whose judgment is not always the best but who is a savvy veteran of the Justice Department and of white-collar criminal battles, was right this week to compare the heavily armed commando-like raid of Stone’s home to “an amphibious landing.”
“I used to be in the Marines,” he said. “I've done an amphibious landing. I couldn't believe they were doing one at Stone's house! It's muscular, it's over the top, it's designed to scare.”

Scientists Skeptical of Anthropogenic Global Warming
Becoming tired of fighting alarmists I simpley ask two questions. What is the best temperature for the planet for both plants, animals and people, not likely todays temp. Second what is the best level of CO2 for plants and people. Then we can discuss exactly what to do about it. Other than saying "todays temp" and "lower CO2" without any data I have not yet gotten a response.
