"I warn parents in my forthcoming book, “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation” that many public schools have been turned into indoctrination camps for the left.
The other day I received a message from Dina Bartus, the parent of two sons at Heritage High School in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
On the second day of class her son’s 10th grade English II Honors teacher distributed a “Diversity Inventory” worksheet and called on students to reveal their religion, economic status, and sexual preference.
The students were then instructed to stand under “titles” that asked questions like, “what makes you the most privileged?”
The teacher, who identified herself to students as bisexual, told the class she is privileged because she is white, Mrs. Bartus told me..."Read all.

"Al Gore likes to say that the science of climate change is “settled.”
But of course, science, almost by definition, is never settled.
And climate science has always suffered from the problem of shaky and missing data. Seventy percent of the globe is covered by ocean, where data is hard to collect.
Reliable weather records only go back to about 1850 and, in many parts of the world, are far more recent.
Modern recording weather stations date only to the early 20th century.
And many of those stations have a big problem.
While they haven’t changed appreciably over the years, the land around them has changed, often profoundly, with the great growth in urban and suburban areas.
The weather station that was put, say, in the middle of a Nassau County, Long Island, potato field in 1923 is still in the same spot.
But the potatoes are long gone, and now it’s behind a strip mall, twenty feet from the kitchen exhaust fan of a Chinese take-out joint.
A study by meteorologist Anthony Watts found that almost 90 percent of the 1221 weather stations in the U.S. did not meet the National Weather Service’s setting standards, which requires that they be at least 100 feet from any artificial heat source or radiating surface. You can see some of the most egregious violators here..."

Dems Blame Airplanes, Meat, Business For Climate Crisis – CNN Immediately Runs Ads For Those Three Things | The Daily Caller:
CNN aired advertisements for airplanes, meat and businesses during its climate crisis town hall Wednesday as candidates branded those three things as reasons for the crisis.
Ten 2020 candidates answered questions about ways to help the climate crisis during a seven-hour CNN town hall Wednesday evening. South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg was one of the candidates honing in on decarbonizing fuel for air travel, while Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris called for moderation on red meat.

"Last week's "Climate Town Hall" on CNN wasn't just long (seven hours!). It was deeply revealing about how Democratic presidential candidates think about government's power to regulate virtually all aspects of human behavior and how they approach policy and cultural change.

...About half of the candidates have endorsed the Green New Deal proposed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D–N.Y.) and Sen. Ed Markey (D–Mass.), which could cost as much as $90 trillion to implement.
...A number likened fighting climate change to the effort to win World War II, a metaphor that perhaps says more about their comfort with regimenting society than the speakers intended. During World War II, all industrial production was overseen by the federal government, food and fuel were rationed, and civil liberties were sharply curtailed in the interest of defeating the Axis powers..."

The Terrible Truth About ‘Live Aid.’
Related (From Ed):
As I wrote at the Weekly Standard in 2004, when Live Aid (minus Led Zeppelin’s disastrous set) was first released on DVD, “While Live Aid was spectacular television, it was just another in a series of Big Events from people who believed that throwing money at a problem eventually solves it. Eerily, it forecast how the left would interact with Iraq: Substitute Mengistu for Saddam Hussein and it’s amazing how all the rest of the players stay the same–the BBC, the United Nations, and celebrities who believe that despots can be reasoned with to do the right thing.

The Terrible Truth About ‘Live Aid.’
But people felt good about themselves, and that’s the important thing."The assignment was simple — all this money had been raised, where was it going, was it actually doing good?He discovered it was not doing good, but, horrifically, unimaginably, the exact opposite. The Ethiopian dictator, Mengistu, until then deadlocked in the war, was using the money the west gave him to buy sophisticated weapons from the Russians, and was now able to efficiently and viciously crush the opposition. Ethiopia, then the third poorest country in the world, suddenly had the largest, best equipped army on the African continent.
By this time we had all seen the pictures and TV footage of Bob Geldof, the figurehead of Live Aid, bear hugging and playfully punching Mengistu in the arm as he literally handed over the funding for this slaughter. It was on TV now alright, but as an endless, relentless reel of heroic Bob Geldof highlights. He drenched himself in the adulation and no one begrudged him it, until our investigation exposed the holocaust that Live Aid’s collected donations had help perpetrate on the Eritrean independence fighters.
Most damningly, Keating reported that Geldof was warned, repeatedly, from the outset by several relief agencies in the field about Mengistu, who was dismantling tribes, mercilessly conducting resettlement marches on which 100,000 people died, and butchering helpless people. According to Medicins Sans Frontiers, who begged Geldof to not release the money until there was a reliable infrastructure to get it to victims, he simply ignored them.

‘Comey’ is now a verb - The Washington Post
"James B. Comey has contributed his name to our political vocabulary.
To “Comey” is a term that should gain wide usage in politics.
May it live forever.
...“Comey” means to repeatedly deceive while cloaking oneself in pious, self-anointed virtue.
In Washington, this happens frequently.
But until now, it had no name.
Comey earned his verb and his iconic status as a swamp creature par excellence.
He ignored the rules and used his office to give a pass to the candidate he thought was going to win and decided to deceitfully derail the candidate he simply did not like, even after he won.
If you don’t believe me, just look to the Justice Department Inspector General’s report..."

Boat owners seek to head off lawsuits after 34 die in fire
"LOS ANGELES (AP) — The owners of the dive boat where 34 people perished in a fire off Southern California filed a lawsuit Thursday to head off potentially costly litigation, a move condemned by some observers as disrespectful to the families of the dead.
Truth Aquatics Inc., which owned the Conception, filed the action in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles under a pre-Civil War provision of maritime law that allows it to limit its liability.
...Families of the deceased, who are not named in the complaint, will be served with notice that they have a limited time to challenge the company’s effort to clear itself of negligence or limit its liability to the value of the remains of the boat, which is a total loss..."

"The president is a racist, in his words and his actions.
Before you go clutching your pearls and extolling the virtues of “civility,” let me say this:
Put a sock in it.
This is not a new revelation, nor is it something that we can continue to ignore as though it were coming from a drunk uncle at the family barbecue.
Bigotry is dangerous and, coming from our nation’s commander in chief, it can mean an inability to recognize individual humanity and a failure to act with moral authority in times of crisis.
