Letter emerges from top Australian official refuting New York Times' latest Trump scoop - TheBlaze

Letter emerges from top Australian official refuting New York Times' latest Trump scoop - TheBlaze:

Image result for wikicommons images Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison The New York Times reported Monday that President Donald Trump recently "pushed" Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison to help Attorney General William Barr gather information for an ongoing Justice Department investigation in hopes to "discredit" Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.
The newspaper characterized Trump's alleged request as "using high-level diplomacy to advance his personal political interests" — the same allegation Democrats and the media have made about Trump's controversial July conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
But a letter surfaced later Monday discrediting the Times' reporting.

Big Tech wants your attention. Don't give them more than they deserve.

Big Tech wants your attention. Don't give them more than they deserve.
"...Information used to be scarce.
Image result for Commodifying-manufactured outrageNow it’s plentiful, to put it mildly.
What’s scarce now?
Attention, specifically your attention.
And lots of people want to seize it, monetize it and commodify it.
...former Google executive James Williams’...thinks that many tech companies see their users as a form of prey — or maybe herd animals would be a better metaphor.
Our attention is lured in via clickbait and algorithmic jiggery-pokery that’s designed to keep us emotionally stirred and engaged (which mostly means angry) and then monetized to make tech companies rich.
  • Commodifying-manufactured outrage

This, Williams argues, has negative effects.
Quoting poet Theodore Roethke he says, “A mind too active is no mind at all.”
Yet social media and other tech platforms are designed — deliberately — to keep us in such a state, too busy reacting to the latest fad or outrage (it’s usually outrage) to actually think.
Williams writes, “The most visible and consequential form of compromised ‘daylight’ we see in the digital attention economy is the prevalence and centrality of moral outrage..."

Prof: Create 'anti-racist amendment' and 'Department of Anti-racism'

Prof: Create 'anti-racist amendment' and 'Department of Anti-racism'
"American University professor Ibram Kendi made the case for the creation of an "anti-racist amendment," as well as a whole department dedicated to "anti-racism" in a POLITICO piece.
Kendi serves as the director of American University's Antiracist Research & Policy Center.
  • The Department of Anti-racism "would be empowered with disciplinary tools"
"The amendment would make unconstitutional racial inequity over a certain threshold, as well as racist ideas by public officials (with “racist ideas” and “public official” clearly defined)," Kendi wrote in the piece.
...The professor, who also serves as the director of American University's Antiracist Research & Policy Center, also supported establishing a "Department of Anti-racism [DOA]," containing no political appointees but instead staffed with "formally trained experts on racism."
"The DOA would be responsible for preclearing all local, state and federal public policies to ensure they won’t yield racial inequity, monitor those policies, investigate private racist policies when racial inequity surfaces, and monitor public officials for expressions of racist ideas," Kendi explained.
"The DOA would be empowered with disciplinary tools to wield over and against policymakers and public officials who do not voluntarily change their racist policy and ideas."...

Image result for wikicommons images Illegal U.S. border crossingA Maryland county sheriff told members of Congress on Thursday that the United States’ immigration system has reached a “crisis point.”  “We’re at a crisis point in this country,” Sheriff Chuck Jenkins of Frederick County, Maryland, said at a House Judiciary Committee hearing called “The Expansion and Troubling Use of [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] Detention.”
“Congress needs to take serious measures right now in the enforcement of our immigration laws, both at the border and in the interior [of the country],” said Jenkins, a Republican. “These two missions have overlapping, serious impacts to public safety.”

MUST READ: Ukraine Burisma Story is Massive - Involves BILLIONS of IMF and US Funds Looted and Lost by Bank Connected to Burisma Holdings!
"The Biden (and now Kerry) scandal in the Ukraine is much more than about the money paid to Hunter Biden for being a Board member at the largest gas producer in the Ukraine, Burisma Holdings.
The real scandal involves billions in funds from the IMF and US in aid that has gone missing.
Burisma (Ukraine’s largest oil and gas provider) has been the subject of many recent news articles because of its scandalous close-knit ties with President Obama’s Vice President Biden and Secretary of State Kerry.  (Yes, Kerry is involved here too)
A controlling shareholder of Burisma is believed to be held by an entity called Privat Group...
Privat Group is controlled by Ukraine’s largest commercial bank, PrivatBank, whose owner was Igor Kolomoisky. ,,
...Kolomoisky’s bank, PrivatBank, is later revealed to be a recipient of billions of dollars of IMF funds.
Kolomoisky is believed to have looted those funds...
At one point in time, Kolomoisky had been placed on a US Government Visa ban list due to his questionable business practices; however, shortly after Archer Devon and Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma, that ban was mysteriously lifted, and there has been no investigation into these missing funds.

Where are the billions of dollars that went missing in the Ukraine?  What do Obama, Biden and Kerry and their children know about where the money is and are they connected?"

STUNNING! Trump's Economic Number FOUR TIMES BETTER than Obama -- Middle Class Incomes up $3,000 per Year!
"Economist Steve Moore joined Neil Cavuto on FOX Business Network on Tuesday.
Moore cheered the latest economic numbers under President Trump.
According to US Census Bureau the Real Median Household Income is at its highest level ever at $65,084 per family.
And the real median household income is up $3,000 under President Donald Trump.
After eight years in office Barack Obama was able to raise wages only $1,000 per household, a pathetic number.

Maybe it was all the regulations and creeping socialism?
Steve Moore:  Neil, these are blockbuster numbers.  And thank you for reporting that.  I had to triple check these numbers to make sure they were right because they’re so off the charts.
Of course, the liberal mainstream media is ignoring this historic news!...

University of Alberta executive resigning over controversial ads | Edmonton Journal

A University of Alberta vice-president has resigned her post over a billboard advertisement critics said promoted benefits of climate change.
...A controversial University of Alberta billboard advertisement touting a benefit of climate change would never have been approved if proper processes were followed, the university’s president said Sunday night.
President David Turpin said he reluctantly accepted the resignation...
“I felt the ad should have been vetted by the executive team and I’m pretty sure it never would have seen the light of day,” Turpin said.
The university is in the process of removing billboard advertisements that read, “Beefier barley: climate change will boost Alberta’s barley yield with less water, feeding more cattle.”
It was based on research from 2017 that found Alberta barley would grow better and require less irrigation if the climate was warmer and wetter..."

Looming Nickel Shortage Threatens to Slam the Brakes on Governor Walz's Electric Vehicle Mandates - American Experiment
"Governor Walz recently announced that he wants hundreds of thousands of electric vehicles on Minnesota roads by 2030, but a world-wide shortage of nickel threatens to slam the brakes on EV’s.
...The Wall Street Journal projects nickel deficits for through 2019 and 2020 and the metal shortage will be exacerbated by Indonesia’s decision to ban all raw nickel exports and long lead times for mine permitting in areas like Minnesota.
...if the Governor truly wanted to be a global leader on climate, he would open up the Duluth Complex to mining, because it is the single-largest undeveloped source of copper and nickel in the world, and these metals will be in high demand if the entire world is to shift to (expensive and inefficient) renewable energy sources and (unprofitable) electric cars...

Walter E. Williams---Who Cares About You?

Who Cares About You?
Image result for they don't give a damn about you"During my student days at a UCLA economics department faculty/graduate student coffee hour in the 1960s, I was chatting with Professor Armen Alchian, probably the greatest microeconomic theory economist of the 20th century.
I was trying to impress Alchian with my knowledge of statistical type I and type II errors.
I explained that unlike my wife, who assumed that everyone was her friend until they prove differently, my assumption was everyone was an enemy until they proved otherwise.
The result: My wife's vision maximized the number of her friends but maximized her chances of betrayal.
My vision minimized my chances of betrayal at a cost of minimizing the number of my friends.
Alchian, donning a mischievous smile asked, "Williams, have you considered a third alternative, namely, that people don't give a damn about you one way or another?"
Initially, I felt a bit insulted, and our conversation didn't go much further, but that was typical of Alchian -- saying something profound, perhaps controversial, without much comment and letting you think it out.
Years later, I gave Alchian's third alternative considerable thought and concluded that he was right..."
