It's a hoax: The hate crime the media used to try to smear Karen Pence
"Three white boys held down an African American girl and cut her hair at recess, and somehow, it’s Karen Pence’s fault.

First, an accusation was made by a black female student at Immanuel Christian School in Virginia. She alleged that three white boys had held her down at recess, insulted her, and cut her dreadlocks off with scissors.
This alleged incident supposedly happened at Immanuel Christian, a private Christian school where the second lady happens to teach.
...“SIXTH GRADERS HOLD DOWN CLASSMATE, CUT HER DREADLOCKS AT PRIVATE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL WHERE KAREN PENCE TEACHES,” the screaming headline at Newsweek read.
Similar headlines implicated Pence in the incident at left-wing outlets ranging from NBC News to the Advocate.
But stop and think about this for a second: Even if you took the accusation completely at face value and assumed it happened, what on Earth does that actually have to do with Pence?
How is mentioning her name even remotely relevant? ...

Student senator wants ‘pro-consent party cups’ for sporting events | The College Fix

  • Says football games increase sexual assault
See the source image"A student senator at the University of Southern California is advocating the university’s purchase of “pro-consent” cups to be distributed at tailgate parties on football game days.
The undergraduate senator, Haley Garland, cited a study that claimed to have found a 41 percent increase in sexual assaults when a football game is played at a home stadium, The Daily Trojan reports
That increase is reportedly due to the greater amounts of alcohol consumed on those days.
Garland asked the Undergraduate Student Government for the funding of “800 reusable cups with consent friendly slogans such as ‘consent is sexy’,” The Trojan says.
The cups would be passed out at pre-game tailgate parties..."

Former congressman Trey Gowdy opined that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) has threatened the Democratic investigation into the Ukraine whistleblower accusations because of his bias.
Gowdy was speaking to Martha MacCallum on her Fox News show on Friday about the Ukraine debacle.
MacCallum asked him to comment on the Washington Post fact checker slapping Schiff with "four Pinocchios," the greatest rating they have for an egregious lie.
"I think he got four only because you can't get five!" he joked.

Hot take: Doing too much cycling or other exercise will make you a right-winger – twitchy.com
"Here’s a hot take from across the pond thanks to columnist Zoe Williams of The Guardian.
It seems boasting about your fitness puts you in great danger of becoming a right-winger. “I’m not sure what exercise does for your body,” she writes, “but I do know what it does to your personality. And it’s not pretty.”

It seems that Williams considers self-sufficiency to be a characteristic of the right-wing.
Funny … we keep being told we’re supposed to give up our cars to save the environment, but there’s a dark side to cycling:
Do too much, and the self-love develops a carapace of self-sufficiency. This is especially a problem for cyclists, who come to think of themselves as an off-grid warrior class, having performed their commute drawing on no more resources than their own glutes, and maybe a sports drink. Unavoidably, over time, this makes you more rightwing, as you descend into an aerobics-powered moral universe where only the weak need each other, and all the strong need is a waterpouch in their backpack that pipes straight into their mouths.
