Is this worth reporting?
Maybe, maybe not.
Nevertheless, Agence France-Presse, or AFP, and Reuters did report it, attributing the information to a “United Nations study” on migrant children detained at the US-Mexico border.
Then the two agencies retracted the story.
Deleted, withdrew, demolished.
If they could have used one of those Men in Black memory-zappers on us, they would have. Sheepishly, the two news organizations explained that, you see, the UN data was from 2015 — part of a border crackdown that had begun years earlier.
We all know who the president was in 2015.
It wasn’t evil, child-caging monster President Trump.
It was that nice, compassionate, child-caging monster President Barack Obama.
Zap.
The story made Obama look bad. 
Hence the story was removed. 
Not updated or corrected, removed..."

Dear Curt:
When I first joined the American Physical Society sixty-seven years ago it was much smaller, much gentler, and as yet uncorrupted by the money flood (a threat against which Dwight Eisenhower warned a half-century ago).
...As recently as thirty-five years ago, when I chaired the first APS study of a contentious social/scientific issue, The Reactor Safety Study, though there were zealots aplenty on the outside there was no hint of inordinate pressure on us as physicists. 
...I was proud of what we did in a charged atmosphere.
...How different it is now. 
The giants no longer walk the earth, and the money flood has become the raison d’être of much physics research, the vital sustenance of much more, and it provides the support for untold numbers of professional jobs.
...Your own Physics Department (of which you are chairman) would lose millions a year if the global warming bubble burst. 
When Penn State absolved Mike Mann of wrongdoing, and the University of East Anglia did the same for Phil Jones, they cannot have been unaware of the financial penalty for doing otherwise.
As the old saying goes, you don’t have to be a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing. Since I am no philosopher, I’m not going to explore at just which point enlightened self-interest crosses the line into corruption, but a careful reading of the ClimateGate releases makes it clear that this is not an academic question.
I want no part of it, so please accept my resignation.

A high school student identified by the Daily Herald as Julia Burca chokes up as she discusses how her school district ruled Thursday that transgender students will have unrestricted access to bathrooms of their choice, video footage created by the Daily Herald shows.
“I feel uncomfortable that my privacy is being invaded,” Burca says, who had a red nose and eyes. “As I am a swimmer, I do change multiple times naked in front of the other students in the locker room. I understand that the board has an obligation to all students but I was hoping they would go about this in a different way that would also accommodate students such as myself.”


A school district held a meeting at Palatine High School in northwest Illinois where board members voted to give unrestricted locker room and restroom access to transgender students, the Chicago station WGN9 reported.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 200 migrants who crossed the border illegally from Mexico during a five-hour period Saturday night. The apprehensions come as cartel-connected human smugglers continue to utilize the tactic of crossing large groups to tie-up Border Patrol agents in the area.
During a five-hour period on November 16, Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested five separate groups of migrants being pushed across the border in large numbers by human smugglers near Sasabe, Arizona. The largest group consisted of 129 illegal immigrants, officials stated.

This mob action might not spread to places outside of the coasts, but here’s what’s going to happen: those young people who join the mobs, they are going to graduate and move into the institutions of American life. They are going to carry their militant illiberalism, including their contempt for free speech and open discourse, into those institutions, and are going to do their damnedest to institutionalize them. One thing I have learned from the past few months spent studying Soviet-bloc communism: watch the intellectual class. That’s because despite lagging academic progress (Michigan was below average in three of the four National Assessment of Educational Progress assessments in 2019), teachers in this state appear to be an elite class.
...Yet, it would be difficult for Michigan teachers to receive better evaluations overall.

• In 2018-19, 41 percent of the state’s 102,437 public school teachers received an evaluation of “highly effective,” the highest of the four categories. 
• Then 58% of the teachers received the second-highest evaluation of “effective”.
• Just 1% of teachers were rated minimally effective and just 201 teachers were given “ineffective” ratings, the lowest category. 
• There were so few Michigan teachers rated ineffective that statistically it registered at 0%..."
