BILLINGSLEY: Californians May Wonder If The Constitution Applies To Them In 2020 | The Daily Caller:
As of Jan. 1, 2020, California is part of the United States of America, at least in the official sense. Even so, Californians have good cause to wonder about their rights under the U.S. Constitution, starting with the First Amendment.
Assembly Bill 730, by Palo Alto Democrat Marc Berman, prohibits the dissemination “with actual malice,” any materially deceptive audio or visual material within 60 days of an election. Defenders of the bill see it as a defense against “deep fakes,” such as the video, posted last May, that appeared to show House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a drunken condition.

- Those in violation of this proposed law would be guilty of a felony. SB 16 would make any semi-automatic rifle with a fixed capacity of more than 10 rounds illegal.
- In addition, the possession of any center fire rifle that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and that has a thumbhole stock, pistol grip or a second hand grip or a threaded barrel would also automatically become a felony.
- Any semi-automatic pistol with a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 10 rounds will also be illegal to own if this bill passes. If the pistol has the ability to accept a detachable magazine other restrictions apply, which include banning threaded barrels and prohibiting pistols weighing 50 ounces or more.
- Shotguns with the ability to accept detachable magazines or having a fixed capacity of over seven rounds would also become illegal to own.
- As a result, every rifle with the common AR-15 design and many pistols and shotguns that are currently in common use for personal defense and target shooting would be banned. Since they would be illegal to own, they would have to be either surrendered or seized by law enforcement authorities..."

The Iowa Democratic caucuses will dominate the news at the end of January and beginning of February.
My conservative cousin formerly from New York sees the caucuses as a “glaring example of voter suppression totally ignored by the mainstream media because it provides a boost to left wing Democrats.”
He writes:
The winner of the Iowa caucus has become the Democratic nominee in every 21st century election. Yet, turnout is sparse; only 15.7% of registered Democrats showed up for the 2016 caucus and not many more are expected this year.
It is easy to understand why.
To participate, voters must drive to a caucus site at night and spend several hours listening to discussions of candidates’ merits. There are no secret ballots, your friends and neighbors know how you voted.
Many who worked evenings can’t participate. Parents of young children are unlikely to show up; especially single moms who can’t afford babysitters. Ditto for farmers and many factory hands whose days start before sunrise. The result is an electorate filled with college professors, college students, union officials and party activists.
Progressive leaders like Eric Holder and Stacey Abrams speak loudly with spurious claims of suppression when electoral rolls are updated or early voting periods are shortened. They are silent about the undemocratic nature of the Iowa caucus system. That’s probably because they like the way this arrangement helps candidates they favor win.

The charges come from John Guandolo, the founder of Understanding the Threat, an organization that trains and consults with federal, state and local leaders and agencies "to defeat the jihadi threat."
In an interview with Jamie Glazov on the "Glazov Gang," Guandolo said, "I think if you're going to stand beside John Brennan like a number of people have and they've officially put their names on a list, your putting yourself in the enemy camp."
He continued: "John Brennan what he's guilty of is sedition, and I would argue treason. This isn't something that happened in the last two years. He's made an entire adult life time of this."
