"The anti-Trump media continues to report that the President is "pushing" an "unapproved" drug (hydroxychloroquine) as a therapy for COVID-19 as if off-label use of drugs is unique and uncommon.

It isn't unique or uncommon.

According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services, one in five of every outpatient prescription written in the US is for a use other than for which the drug was approved.

The FDA regulates drug approval, not drug prescription. Doctors are free to prescribe any drug for any reason they deem medically appropriate.

I don't know if the drug is effective or not - but what is amazing is the broadly negative reaction to even the mention of it by the media, simply because the President mentioned it - especially in light of evidence it is helping in some cases and even the President is not advocating use without the advice of a physician.

And yet, this is a media that has never met a fad diet or a "fluid" gender they didn't buy into and report as fact.

Trump's opposition apparently doesn't want anything helpful to come forward, they just want to be mad and for Trump to be wrong - even if it hurts people."

The arts and crafts chain, along with stores like Michaels and Joann Fabrics, have remained open due to their own interpretation of essential. 

While the CDC and other medical minds dither about whether face masks should be recommended to the general public, the American people have taken matters into their own hands. 

With a lot of free time on their hands, and a need for personal protective equipment when the supply of such is in high demand, those who can sew have cleaned out their local fabric and craft stores to make face masks.

...Well, this has set off some local authorities, including one judge in Dallas, Texas, who decided to single out Hobby Lobby by name.

...the threat of legal action has caused Hobby Lobby to close its stores nationwide at the end of business today.

...One judge in Texas decides that Hobby Lobby isn’t essential, and yet Americans are making their own face masks because they would rather have a little personal protection than none at all. Is this an essential item? 

Who gets to make that call?...

Casten himself, however, has misinformed the public about China’s role in the pandemic. When one of his constituents asked about the early Chinese response to the outbreak at a March 21 electronic town hall, the congressman refused to talk about the regime’s coverup of the virus. Instead, he incorrectly said that China had successfully isolated the outbreak in Wuhan.

“China, to their credit, once they realize they had a problem, shut down the entire province that this was in and they seem to have largely isolated the cases in China,” Casten said. “We have missed that window in the United States.”

Casten’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

Casten also asserted the United States shut down its pandemic response team in the National Security Council, a false claim repeated by many Democrats and mainstream media outlets. Trump merely consolidated several redundant teams, including those tasked with the pandemic response, into one office while retaining much of their original staff, according to Tim Morrison, who previously led the consolidated office.
