Protesters Destroy Christopher Columbus Statues in VA, MASS:
Protesters tore down a statue of Christopher Columbus in Virginia’s state capital on Tuesday using ropes to topple the monument before burning an American flag atop it and dragging it into a nearby lake. In Boston, a statue of the 15th Century explorer was beheaded overnight.
The vandalism comes one day after a judge temporarily blocked Gov. Ralph Northan’s order to remove a statue of Robert E. Lee that stands on Monument Avenue in Richmond.

"For white people who have just recently recognized their own complicity in America's racist systems and are looking to "fix" that — it's not going to happen overnight." says author Robin DiAngelo...the author of White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism.
The status quo in the United States is racism, DiAngelo says, and "it is comfortable for me, as a white person, to live in a racist society."
To sustain the momentum of these protests, DiAngelo says, it must become uncomfortable for white people to continue to benefit from racist systems.

"...But in the longer run, the underlying causes of our growing civic breakdown go beyond the brutal police killing of George Floyd.
Particularly in our core cities, our dysfunction is a result of our increasingly large, and increasingly multi-racial, class of neo-serfs.
Like its Medieval counterpart, today’s serf class consists of the permanently marginalized—like the peasants of feudal times, these people are unlikely to move to a higher station.
This does not only apply to the residents of our ghettos and barrios.
Many of our young people, white and otherwise, appear to have little or no hope of attaining the usual milestones of entry into the middle class—gaining a useful and marketable skill, starting a small business, or buying a home or other property.
...This trend has been made worse by the lockdowns surrounding the pandemic.
Almost 40% of those Americans making under $40,000 a year have lost their jobs.
...Particularly telling has been the role played by predominately white radicals—whom Mike Lind hilariously labels “riot ninjas.”
Although often emerging from largely privileged backgrounds, radicals—whether part of anti-fa or just freelance—can be seen as putting into action the political indoctrination they imbibed in college and, increasingly, even earlier.
The agenda of the new activists is nothing less than a total assault on the bourgeoisie.

And now, a longtime manufacturing business is immediately relocating away from Minneapolis after Democratic leaders failed to protect the city, instead allowing violence to overrun it in the wake of George Floyd's tragic death.

Michigan not on board yet!-----Minnesota's shortage of trained ICU nurses shows why we should join the national Nurse Licensure Compact - American Experiment
Minnesota's shortage of trained ICU nurses shows why we should join the national Nurse Licensure Compact - American Experiment
- A SHORTAGE OF ICU NURSES RATHER THAN OF ICU BEDS
Recently, I wrote about the alleged shortage of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds in Minnesota.
...Indeed, it might be the case that it isn’t a shortage of facilities that is the problem but a shortage of people qualified to staff them.
The Minnesota Hospital Association has long called for our state to join the national Nurse Licensure Compact.
As the Minnesota Board of Nursing describes it:
The Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) allows a nurse (RN and LPN/VN) to have one compact license in the nurse’s primary state of residence (the home state) with authority to practice in person or via telehealth in other compact states (remote states). The nurse must follow the nurse practice act of each state. The mission of the Nurse Licensure Compact is: The Nurse Licensure Compact advances public protection and access to care through the mutual recognition of one state-based license that is enforced locally and recognized nationally.
Currently 34 states are members of the compact.
Membership would improve our situation regarding qualified ICU nurses.
...The Minnesota Nurses Association opposes joining the scheme but, like any union, it exists primarily to look after the interests of its members, not those of the general public...

"What are you really seeing as Americans kneel, hands raised in secular prayer, repeating political creeds on the TV news?
And that secular foot-washing?
You’re witness to neo-Marxist appropriation of Christian symbolism, in the aftermath of the horrifying Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd.
And now, the priests of the secularist left separate the biblical sheep from the goats on the basis of skin color.
...But in the current political universe, whites must atone for the sins of white racism even if they’re not racists, even if their families arrived here only yesterday.
And even the mere suggestion this might be unfair, the slightest hint of resistance, can trigger accusations that could ruin careers, deny entrance to the professions, and drive nuance from the public square.
And it is all by design...

Interesting-----Because White People Are Bad - Taki's Magazine - Taki's Magazine
Because White People Are Bad - Taki's Magazine - Taki's Magazine
"The single most relevant fact for understanding America right now is the one you are least supposed to mention: Blacks are vastly more homicidal than any other racial or ethnic group.
Nobody seems to know this when thinking about the reality behind our ongoing Largely Peaceful Riots, although, oddly, the same folks seem to know it when thinking about where to buy real estate or listening to rap.
...For example, in the latter decades of the 20th century it became increasingly verboten to publicly acknowledge the lower average intelligence and higher average homicide rate of African-Americans.
This was not because the scientists who painstakingly documented these massively important facts about American society were proven wrong. Instead, they won the extensive arguments in the academic literature.
No, it was precisely because the evidence for the validity of these behavioral disparities was so overwhelming that it was driven out of public discussion. It was felt that mentioning the social science would be bad for the self-esteem of blacks. (By the way, another little-known social-science finding is that blacks don’t actually have a deficiency of self-esteem. Of course, you might have already surmised that from listening to hip-hop…just as you might also have guessed from the same musical genre that they do have a problem with shooting each other too much.)
“The bill for starting from dishonest premises is now coming due.”
Over the years, this artificial ignorance caused much incompetence and waste in public policy (for instance, the Bush-Kennedy No Child Left Behind act of 2002, which, hilariously, legally mandated that by 2014 all public school students must test above average).
On the other hand, people were seldom persecuted for acting in their private lives as if they were less than true believers. White parents bought homes in “safe” neighborhoods with “good” schools without feeling too much pressure to agonize over what exactly they meant by these euphemisms.
But what goes unsaid eventually becomes unthinkable.
As the years go by, there are fewer and fewer people in the press who can actually remember how the implementation of anti-racist theories about law enforcement in the 1960s and 1970s destroyed America’s cities, turning even Manhattan from the setting for Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 1961 to the backdrop for Taxi Driver in 1976...

"A California college professor reportedly is being investigated for discrimination and under police protection after refusing a request to exempt black students from final exams in the wake of George Floyd's death.
The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) suspended Gordon Klein, an accounting professor in the Anderson School of Business where he's been teaching for 39 years, for three weeks beginning on June 25 after he declined a student's request to delay a final exam in light of Floyd's death, the Free Beacon reports.
Anderson School of Management Dean Antonio Bernardo sent an email to students on Monday calling Klein's behavior "troubling" and reportedly extended the time students have to complete exams given the "difficult circumstances."
...At least 20,000 people signed a petition calling for Klein's removal after a student who wasn't in the class posted the email exchange on social media.
...Klein asked how he would be able to identify the black students given that the class is online and noted that the teacher's assistant is from Minneapolis.
“One last thing strikes me: Remember that MLK famously said that people should not be evaluated based on the ‘color of their skin,’" Klein added.
