  • Governor imposes face mask mandate for customers at any business open to public

"The Michigan Retailers Association said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s executive order that businesses must not serve customers without a face mask is impossible to enforce.
..."Notably, the order includes various exemptions, and it still allows individuals to enter a public space without a mask if they cannot medically tolerate it," the Michigan Retailers Association stated. "Determining the validity of an ambiguous exemption is an impossible task for a retailer.
And now, even retailers acting in good faith could be subject to severe licensing sanctions based on the actions of non-compliant customers."
The Michigan Retailers Association said enforcement should be left to the police.
Retailers found to be in violation of the executive order could have their business license temporary suspended as well as their liquor license...

Image result for flickr commons images Statue of George WashingtonFox News host Tucker Carlson invited The Federalist senior editor Chris Bedford on Friday night’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to discuss the broader civilizational ramifications of statues and their removal by mobs.
Carlson kicked off the segment by showing images of rioters pulling down statues in North Carolina and Maryland. Statues and monuments of historical figures have been defaced and removed in the wake of protests sparked by the death of George Floyd. The Fox News host followed that up with footage of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defending the lawlessness as people who “will do what they do.”

Police Seek Leftists Who Attacked Cerebral Palsy Victim, 58
"And today in thoroughly depressing news — because we needed more of it, apparently — police are looking for protesters in Columbus, Ohio, who attacked a 58-year-old man with cerebral palsy.
In a series of social media postings, the Columbus Division of Police with information about the rioters who attacked Eldon Hawkins on May 31 to come forward.
Police also posted a three-minute composite video of attack on YouTube.
As the clip begins, Hawkins’ car is being blocked by protesters
He reverses at slow speed and ends up hitting someone on a bike with his rear bumper. Sadly (yet predictably), things got ugly from there.
“They threw a bicycle on my windshield and started kicking my doors and windows. It scared the life out of me,” Hawkins said at a Monday Columbus City Council meeting, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

Protesters even ransacked his trunk, littering the street with flowers that had been in the back of the car. Read all.

Micha EL Sawdy - Here are the deaths from Coronavirus in my State...
"Here are the deaths from Coronavirus in my State of #Michigan from the start of the pandemic until today (Michigan.gov).
Does this chart merit the strictest mandate upon our population to date?
Why are masks (which pose health risks of their own) being mandated statewide by our tyrannical Governor NOW, but were not back in April and May?
I see no data to support the need for Adolf #Whitmer's unlawful executive order.
I do know that she has political aspirations for VP this November, and that she wants to keep the State in crisis mode as long as possible to affect the 2020 Election in her Party's favor.
She has made it no secret that she hates the current President.
This appears to be all about politics and has nothing to do with our health anymore (if her policies ever did).
For those who trade stocks, I'm sure you'd agree that - by this chart - we should SELL the Coronavirus because it's not returning to its all-time high and could be delisted soon.
Wake up Michiganders, educate yourselves, and don't #MaskUp if you do not have to."

America Needs To Stop Reacting To Coronavirus Like Hysterics

America Needs To Stop Reacting To Coronavirus Like Hysterics:
  • Americans are learning how to cope with the virus in a common-sense way. That doesn't mean being reckless, but neither does it mean cowering inside every day of every week and every month unless a vaccine shows up.
"Harvard University recently announced that it will ban students from in-person classes for the entirety of the next academic year.
The decision, not based on science, is typical of the decisions made by many elites in response to the novel coronavirus sweeping the globe.
Global pandemics aren’t new, but the way many Americans are responding to this one is.
...America is in an epic battle with the Wuhan coronavirus.
It’s not fun.
See the source imageIt’s been messing with us.
It behaves oddly.
But Americans should want America to win.
Instead, it seems like a lot of our media and other institutions are rooting for the virus and have an attitude suggesting the virus has us dead to rights.
One of the ways the media root for the virus is by hyping it like they hype local sports teams.
It’s not that it’s not a horrifically deadly and contagious virus — it is.
But the media routinely amplify its actual risk by many multiples.
...We need a steely resolve, not simpering fear.
Nothing is going to stop us.
Not polio, not Nazis, not gravity!
Nothing.
We’re America.
We can do this."

Pelosi indicated that she didn't disapprove of the illegal vandalism of statues in a media briefing on Thursday. She was asked about a statue of Columbus that was thrown into Baltimore harbor by protesters.
"Well you know, I'm not a big, I don't even have my grandmother's earrings, I'm not a big, uh, let's see what we have in terms of monuments, I'm more interested in terms of what people have accomplished," Pelosi said.

Fans of Best of the Web Today--Michael Smith
"I was looking at the things that are supposed to be characteristics of "white privilege" as defined by black activists, things like:
  • Wanting things done right (A quest for perfection)
  • A sense of urgency (somehow being motivated is a sin)
  • Defending your position (BLM says "defensiveness")
  • Expecting production (the BLM folks call this "quantity over quality")
  • Writing things down (the BLM folks call this "worship of the written word)
  • Respect for the chain of command (BLM says "paternalism")
  • Decision making (BLM says "either/or thinking)
  • Getting promoted/attaining increased responsibilities (BLM says "power hoarding")
  • Leadership (BLM says "fear of open conflict")
  • Out of the box thinking (BLM says "individualism")
  • Success (BLM says "progress is more")
  • Being fair (BLM says "objectivity" - somehow objectivity is bad)
  • Respect for leadership (BLM says "right to comfort")
At one time or the other, as a manager of people, I have heard one or more of the "BLM says" comments used as an excuse for delays, lack of performance or failure.
Image result for Dismantling Racism: A Workbook for Social ChangeThese are typically the reasons used by slackers and underperforming employees.
Some of them are even contradictory - in many of these, white privilege is supposed to be bad because it doesn't allow individuality and yet individuality is also bad.
If this is what people are being taught (and it is), they are not being taught the dangers of "white privilege" they are being taught how to fail at work and at life.
They are being taught that their lack of success is due to the racism of whites people and not a lack of performance.
None of this is "white", it is how people become successful at any level in a capitalist economy no matter what skin color you wear."

We Can't Have 'National Dialogues' If People Get Fired For Talking

  • No one outside conservative media can criticize Black Lives Matter without being fired or ostracized, so how can we expect the average American to chime in for a productive dialogue?

“...the Black Lives Matter movement’s radical cultural hegemony.
We Can’t Have ‘National Dialogues’ If People Get Fired For Talking HonestlyEstablishment Republicans made the same mistake by ignoring the movement’s radical premise: that at its core, America is rotten and systemically racist, and thus woke Americans must rebuild and reimagine the country from the ground up.
...Maybe many Americans are willing to have a productive conversation about race.
Maybe they want ...to respectfully question the merits of workplace diversity training programs, for example.
But the risk in participating far outweighs any reward.

More than 25,000 U.S. university teachers signed a petition that touts job-seeking migrants by demeaning U.S. citizenship as merely an “artificial distinction” between Americans and foreigners.
The dismissal of citizenship by citizen funded academics is being used to rationalize their support for smuggling their fee-paying foreign graduates into the jobs needed right now by their unemployed American students, said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies.
