North Dakota Gov.: Biden Oil and Gas Lease Halt Has Already Cost over $100 Million in Lost Revenue, Could Cost Billions if It Continues
On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.,” North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R) discussed his state’s lawsuit against the Biden administration’s halt on oil and gas leases on public lands and said the suspension of the leases has already cost state, county, and local governments over $100 million in lost revenue, and “going forward, the cost could easily run into the hundreds of millions of dollars, and if it went on permanently, it could be billions of dollars.”

You are Now in the Totalitarian Zone

Before I get to the bad news, let me start with some good news. Christopher F. Rufo tweets that the revulsion against Critical Race Theory being taught in schools is showing results. Nine states have already banned it: Arizona, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Hampshire, Iowa, and Idaho. As more people realize this effort to divide us into what Scott Adams calls “losers and assholes” I expect we will see more states banning the teaching of this perfidious, noxious, baseless nonsense. On the other hand, there seems no backing off of it in the military, where it can do nothing but weaken our defense capabilities.

Other good news is that courts are rejecting efforts to scrap voter reform. Voter Reform is winning, and it’s what the voters want:

Voters want reform...

...The bad news this week, is that the media is still feeding us baloney, the surveillance state is growing and we now have -- with judicial acquiescence -- a group of political prisoners in D.C. and a lunatic FBI dragnet against everyone who was anywhere near the Capitol on January 6.

BIG WIN! Nearly 60% Of Americans Believe Media Is The "Enemy Of The People"
"Increasingly, Americans are trusting the media sources less and less that they used to rely on unquestionably to keep them informed but that is the fault of those same media outlets, not the people who distrust them.
...In a new survey from Rasmussen Reports, one of the country’s most reliable pollsters, 58 percent of respondents said they agreed with this statement heartily or at least somewhat: “Do you agree or disagree with this statement: The media ‘are truly the enemy of the people?’”
...“Do you trust the political news you are getting?” Only 37 percent said yes, while a plurality of 43 percent said no. Only 20 percent were not sure.
When that same question is broken down by party, only 26 percent of Republicans said they trust the news media, while 58 percent said no.
Surprisingly, only 56 percent of Democrats said yes...Read all.

"The point is not whether the states should have the power, or the federal government should have the power ... the point is [lockdowns] do not work. And not only do they not work, we know that once you give these people the power to shut down businesses, to say you have to be at home ... and the rest of the nonsense, they will gladly keep taking the power," Dave said.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz Lose Rally Venue After It Learned of Their Involvement
"Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene's names on the speakers slate for a Southern California "America First" rally scheduled for next weekend was enough for the Orange County venue to cancel the event.
"As soon as we found out who the speakers were we immediately canceled it," Javad Mirtavoosi, general manager of Pacific Hills Banquet & Event Center, said, adding that when the event was booked, they were just expecting "a gathering."

Harris: Voter ID Could Mean People Have to Copy ID and Send It In and People Live in Areas Where There Isn't a Kinko's or OfficeMax
During a portion of an interview with BET set to air on Friday that was broadcast on Thursday’s “CBS This Morning,” Vice President Kamala Harris responded to a question on whether she’d compromise by agreeing to voter ID provisions to pass voting legislation by stating that we shouldn’t downplay the impact voter ID laws could have. Because to some, voter ID means, “you’re going to have to Xerox or photocopy your ID to send it in to prove that you are who you are.” And many people live where “there’s no Kinko’s, there’s no OfficeMax near them.”

The way we were-----The Longest Investigation In Aviation History | Hidden Danger | Mayday: ...

"PART 2 | It’s only when another Boeing 737 has a similar problem to the previous unresolved incidents – but doesn’t crash – that investigators crack the case open. The pilot of Eastwind 517, is on final approach into Richmond Virginia when, without warning, his 737 twice rolls sharply to the right.  The pilot is able to recover and land the plane safely. NTSB investigators quickly determine that what happened on board Eastwind 517 is alarmingly similar to events on flights 427 and 585. The pilot’s testimony leads investigators to zero in on the 737’s rudder controls.  After a series of gruelling tests, investigators discover that a key piece of equipment – a small hydraulic valve - jams and then functions in reverse under the right circumstances.  It means that any time a pilot tried to correct a rollover, by pushing on the rudder, the rudder might turn in the opposite direction, causing a fatal accident.

In the aftermath of the investigation, sweeping changes were made to improve the safety of the 737 and the entire aviation industry.  New training protocols were designed to help pilots react to unusual in-flight events, upset recoveries and advanced manoeuvre training. The FAA also directed Boeing to redesign the rudder’s dual servo valve to eliminate the potential for reversal. Boeing spent more than a billion dollars to replace the valves on thousands of 737’s around the world."

They ALL lie!-----IS THE NEW YORK TIMES A LIBERAL NEWSPAPER? OF COURSE IT IS:

IS THE NEW YORK TIMES A LIBERAL NEWSPAPER? OF COURSE IT IS:

‘Yes, I am biased’: Ex-New York Times editor fired for saying she got ‘chills’ when Joe Biden became president defends inserting her personal views into stories and says they’re needed to counter ‘lies.’

[Lauren Wolfe] argues that there is no way to be totally neutral as a reporter.

‘As journalists, we can all use what appears to be a ‘neutral voice,’ but that doesn’t mean our implicit bias isn’t guiding our choice of sources, or even what stories we decide to cover,’ she explains.

‘Pretending that we’re all able to be constantly and utterly objective just feels absurd to me. Instead, I’ve always believed it is better to be open about my views on the issues I cover, which for a long time have been war and international human rights. And yes,

I often do write with an agenda—with an eye toward creating change,’ Wolfe added.

That’s fine — as long as you, and/or your publisher disclose your biases. Fortunately, the gray lady did just that in 2004.--Posted by

How the Democrats fell for Mussolini - UnHerd

How the Democrats fell for Mussolini - UnHerd
"There’s a tendency today to see Benito Mussolini as a pathetic sideshow, an incompetent blusterer who went from Adolf Hitler’s idol to his lapdog.
Yet in many ways, Mussolini’s notion of fascism has become increasingly dominant in much of the world, albeit in an unexpected form: in the worldview of those progressives who typically see “proto-fascism” lurking on the Right.
...Indeed, Mussolini’s idea of an economy controlled from above, with generous benefits but dominated by large business interests, is gradually supplanting the old liberal capitalist model.
In the West, for example, the “Great Reset,” introduced by the World Economic Forum’s Klaus Schwab, proposes an expanded welfare state and an economy that transcends the market for the greater goal of serving racial and gender “equity”, as well as saving the planet...Read all.

Why progressive women want to date men who act conservative

Why progressive women want to date men who act conservative
"My friend Mark, 36, is a “catch” by many New York City standards.
  • He’s good-looking, highly educated, and a talented photographer.
  • He’s also progressive and participates in protests and gives to left-leaning causes. And Mark is looking for love. He wants to get married and have kids.
  • In a liberal city like New York, swimming with single women wishing they weren’t, one could assume Mark wouldn’t have a problem finding a mate. And while he dates and recently had a couple of short-lived relationships, Mark remains single. He’s trying to understand why.
  • “I’m really open-minded and cool about gender stuff on dates, but I always feel like I’m walking on eggshells,” Mark told me. “If I pay for dinner, it signals I don’t value my date as my equal so I’m super casual about it all. If she wants to pay or split it or whatever, that’s fine with me.”
I told Mark that, despite his best intentions, his egalitarian dating style could be the problem that’s holding him back.
While some women balk at any hint of traditional male gender behavior...Read all.

A brilliant Twitter thread perfectly explains what drives today’s conservatives

"Darryl Cooper, aka MartyrMade, is a researcher, writer, and podcaster who has put together one of the most brilliant Twitter threads you will ever read. Over the course of 35 tweets, he examines fact after fact from the last five years to explain why conservatives – the people who used to believe in our government, in law enforcement, in the election process – have become cynical, disillusioned, and prone to accepting conspiracy theories to explain the manifest breakdowns in the American system.

It’s a brilliant analysis, one so good that Tucker Carlson read almost the entire thread on his show.

Since I find it hard to read long Twitter threads, I’ve put the entire text, verbatim, into prose form. You can read the thread here, in the original tweets. Frankly, I’m a little surprised the thread is still up because its scathing truths should frighten outlets like Twitter...Read all!!!

The real story about that Gaza death toll - by Melanie Phillips - Melanie Phillips

The real story about that Gaza death toll - by Melanie Phillips - Melanie Phillips
The media's malign fictions feed murderous hysteria against Israel
In the recent hostilities between Israel and its attackers in Gaza, a prime Israel-bashing meme was — as ever — the falsehood that the Israeli forces were killing a huge number of Gaza’s civilians.
  • In vain did defenders of Israel point out that Hamas deliberately sited its missiles and other weaponry in and among apartment buildings, schools and hospitals in order to maximise civilian casualties of Israeli air strikes and thus defame Israel as a wanton aggressor.
  • In vain was it pointed out that Israel goes to lengths deemed unthinkable by any other armed forces in the world to avoid the loss of enemy civilian life, including issuing residents of targeted buildings with evacuation warnings by text, phone calls or “knock on the roof” harmless missile strikes to tell anyone in there to get out.
  • None of these facts stopped the relentless flow of claims that the majority of those killed by Israeli missile attacks in May’s Operation Guardian of the Walls were defenceless civilians.
  • Now, however, the evidence from the updated casualty figures in that operation reveals that, relative to Israel’s massive bombardment of Gaza with some 1500 strikes, the proportion of civilian deaths was astonishingly small...Read all.
