"[Shawnee State University] punished a professor for his speech on a hotly contested issue. And it did so despite the constitutional protections afforded by the First Amendment," a three-judge panel wrote in their unanimous opinion. "The district court dismissed the professor's free-speech and free-exercise claims. We see things differently and reverse."

A Simple Cure for Maskaholics
Instapundit--A Simple Cure for
"WELL, AT LEAST FOR THE ONES STILL CAPABLE OF RATIONAL THOUGHT:
Over and over, journalists and public officials have made fools of them proclaiming the success of mask mandates in some state or nation — whereupon Covid would promptly surge to unprecedented levels among the masked population.
Some of these maskaholics will never learn, but they should at least be required to look at a graph prepared for City Journal by Ian Miller.
It compares the trajectory of Covid throughout the pandemic in states with mask mandates versus the states without mandates — and shows that the masks made no difference.
He also compares Germany, where almost everyone wore high-quality masks, with Sweden, where few citizens bothered to wear anything on their faces.
Again, no difference in the Covid toll.
If you know someone still suffering from maskaholism, do them a favor and show them the graphs.--Posted by John Tierney

America's Truck Driver Shortage - American Thinker
America's Truck Driver Shortage - American Thinker By John F. Di Leo link "This is not news; this national driver shortage is no shock to businessmen or policymakers.
...This is not just one industry’s problem; it’s everybody’s problem.
What is odd, however, is that so many people believe the trucker shortage is caused entirely by not enough people choosing the profession of truck driving as a career.
While that is certainly a part of it, it's not our real problem.
In fact, our truck driver shortage is caused primarily by a series of destructive government policies at every level.

- ...Road construction, traffic congestion, and bad weather contribute to make commercial transportation take more time -- and therefore more man-hours -- than it ought....But, over the course of years, when we see that road construction lasts needlessly long because of government incompetence or graft, or that road rebuilds are done on the cheap, so they need to be done over and over again
- ...Trucks could once drive up to a port, collect their containers, and be out in half an hour or so; today, because of utterly unsustainable volume in ports and railyards that have failed to expand as needed, they are overwhelmed. Trucks must now wait half a day or longer to make every container pickup and delivery. This inefficiency causes the system to need two, three, even four times as many drivers as it should, through no fault of their own..."

Yes, I see. Fauci, the man our president blindly listens to, laments that what China is doing could "never" happen here. Though, it's effective.
"Remember early on they were saying, and I think accurately, that they were doing better than almost anybody else but a lockdown has its consequences."
Fauci still thinks China got it right on the pandemic.
