Why We Lost Trust in the Expert Class - Victor Davis Hanson

Why We Lost Trust in the Expert Class  Victor Davis Hanson
"For years, European policymakers had assured the world that the relatively rapid "transition" to "green" energy was the world's preordained future -- regardless of the costs.
  • ...As a result, German government officials warn that this winter, in 19th-century fashion, families will have to burn wood -- the dirtiest of modern fuels -- to endure the cold. And there is further talk of "warm rooms," where like pre-civilizational tribal people, the elderly will bunch together within a designated heated room to keep alive.
  • Sri Lanka may be the first modern nation to adopt deliberate policies that have led to mass hunger and bankruptcy. The government, for a variety of reasons, listened to foreign advocates of back-to-nature organic farming, specifically outright abandonment of highly effective synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. The result was endemic crop failure. Cash crops for export failed. Widespread hunger followed. Without foreign exchange, it became impossible to import key staples like food and fuel. Sri Lanka once had a per capita income twice that of nearby India. Now it cannot feed or fuel itself....

GOP Rep. Fallon: Biden Made 'Political' Decision to Leave Afghanistan During Fighting Season and We Left $7 Billion in Military Equipment

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Evening Edit,” Rep. Pat Fallon (R-TX) stated that President Joe Biden made a “political” decision to withdraw from Afghanistan in August during the fighting season rather than wait until the winter to give the Afghan government more to time to get its footing and said that the $7 billion in military equipment that the Pentagon’s inspector general report said was left in the country is “exactly the kind of stuff that would be better used in Ukraine, rather than by the Taliban in Afghanistan.”

This machine has to move 500 tons of earth/ore that will be refined to create a lithium car battery | Facebook

Scientists Skeptical of Anthropogenic Global Warming | This machine has to move 500 tons of earth/ore that will be refined to create a lithium car battery | Facebook  Eric Negrón shared a post.
This machine has to move 500 tons of soil/mineral that will be refined to create a lithium car battery. It consumes 450 litres of fuel in a 12-hour shift.
Lithium is refined from the mineral using sulphuric acid. A lithium mine is estimated to require up to 75 loads of sulphuric acid a day.
An open mine will consume billions of liters of underground water, pollute aquifers and produce mountains of toxic waste. ...After analyzing the data we can assure that manufacturing an electric car pollutes 70% more than one does gasoline.
So I wonder why the climate change alarm only affects fuel vehicles?...Read all"

Report: Families Fleeing Portland Due to Homeless Camps, Crime

Families in Democrat-run Portland are fleeing the city due to out-of-control homelessness and crime, according to a report.

Must read!-----President Trump is Our ‘Canary in the Coal Mine’

President Trump is Our ‘Canary in the Coal Mine’  By John F. Di Leo
  • Over a century ago, scientist John Scott Haldane, recognizing the danger of carbon monoxide in coal mines, introduced the use of pet canaries as an early warning system for miners...
Former President Donald J. Trump is the Republican Party's canary.
...Frankly, the shock should not be that Donald Trump was "beaten" in 2020.
...The shock is that so many Republican politicians are in denial, happy to pretend to themselves the measures used against their President in 2020 won't be used against the rest of his party in 2022 and 2024.
  • The canary died in his cage. The miners all saw him fall over. And inexplicably, for over 18 months now, lots of the miners have stayed down below, blissfully unconcerned that the carbon monoxide is eventually coming for them too."

Think this is a joke?

In California's water crisis, neighbors turn in neighbors and even celebrities aren't spared
  • Six million Southern California residents are under the toughest water restrictions in the nation.
  • And because of the patchwork of different agencies overseeing different areas, that means different rules for everyone, sometimes even neighbors who live across the street from each other.
  • ...While the agency monitors water use through meters, it also does neighborhood patrols like many other utilities in the region that are under restrictions, which include allowing residents to water their lawns only once a week..."

A man should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be.

  • "In 1912, amateur archaeologist Charles Dawson claimed to have discovered the "missing link"
between ape and man, known as "The Piltdown Man." ...For the most part, their story was accepted as fact. However, subsequent chemical testing showed that the skull and jaw fragments actually came from two different species, a human and an ape. The conclusion: Piltdown Man was an audacious fake and sophisticated scientific fraud. Forty-one years elapsed between the discovery of the "Piltdown Man" and the determination that it was a fraud.

Horowitz: 4.9 million reasons we no longer need a federal government - TheBlaze

Horowitz: 4.9 million reasons we no longer need a federal government - TheBlaze

At its core, the most important job of the federal government is to protect us against external enemies. That begins at our border. There have now been a total of 4.9 million known border incursions since Biden took office, nearly the population of Ireland. These comprise roughly 3.9 million apprehensions and close to a million gotaways (which is probably lowballing it). Our government has not only abrogated its most important responsibility to the states – protecting against invasion – but it has been complicit in the smuggling and criminal conspiracy that has brought over sex trafficking, drugs, and dangerous criminals.

Our founders didn’t fear this degree of federal government not only because it was not supposed to have all these federal police agencies, statutes, and executive authority over every aspect of our lives (including breathing without masks!), but because it was supposed to be busy working on external affairs. In one of the most important descriptions of the federalist arrangement, Madison laid out the design in Federalist #45 as follows:

Powerful Democrat Rep. Jerry Nadler accused of ethics violations by watchdog group - TheBlaze

A watchdog group has accused House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) of breaching ethics rules by receiving legal services from a senior member of his staff. Americans for Public Trust, an anti-corruption oversight group, says that Nadler received legal services from his district director Robert Gottheim in violation of House ethics rules. Gottheim, a New York resident, reportedly performed fiduciary services as an attorney to the Manhattan Democrat between 2019 and 2021 while simultaneously being paid at a senior staffer threshold, Fox News first reported.
