Don't want to get mugged? Stop using cash, says Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot - TheBlaze

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot told viewers that one of the solutions to ending crime in the city is for citizens to stop carrying cash to the best of their ability, as reported by News Channel 20. Lightfoot is running for reelection. In a candidate debate, the mayor was asked about safety concerns, one of the hottest topics for the people of Chicago.

You will barely believe this.

"Putting women in prison with men to be raped is cruel and unusual punishment. Barbaric actually.

British Army veteran arrested for silently praying for his dead son near an abortion clinic - TheBlaze

"Nobody should be arrested for the thoughts they have in their own mind. The arrest and charge appears to be premised entirely on her admission that she was praying internally," Jeremiah Igunnubole, Spruce's legal representative, said in a statement. "The clinic was closed and she was standing, in a public space, without once engaging anyone. As a public space, she was not banned from being present there."

Taxpayers forced to fund these hate-spewing covens in our schools?!!-----DEI Has Failed; We Do Not Need More of It | The Heritage Foundation

DEI Has Failed; We Do Not Need More of It | The Heritage Foundation
  • DEI offices accomplish little more than producing a lot of bureaucratic sound and fury on the taxpayers’ dime.
  • The racial problems in schools remain “astronomical,” according to federal officials. So why do they think we need more of the same DEI?
  • School districts across the country have established diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) offices to reduce discrimination, and the Department of Education regularly touts the value of DEI programs to quell bias.
  • Yet nationwide, school officials reported a “record number” of discrimination complaints last year...

Ditching Michigan’s grade 3 reading retention law a top priority for Democrats
"It’s why her first piece of legislation for the year, Senate Bill 12, would strike the retention component from Michigan’s reading law altogether while requiring a student’s teacher, principal and parent/legal guardian work together and craft a plan that addresses a child’s individual reading needs.
“Grade retention doesn’t help kids to read. ...
Not to mention potential harmful effects, psychological effects, increased rates of dropouts in kids who are held back – even at early grade levels this has been said to happen with young kids,” Polehanki said, calling the retention portion of the law misguided and a mistake..."

Huge wind turbines — taller than the Statue of Liberty — are toppling over in a 'rash' of incidents - By Thomas Lifson
"Bloomberg Business Week, no foe of green energy, headlines: "Wind Turbines Taller Than the Statue of Liberty Are Falling Over."
The article beneath the headline reports on a variety of alarming disasters involving wind turbines, including collapses of very tall structures...

The article blames the "rash" of incidents on the rush to install turbine capacity, but there are also permanent factors that make engineering, building, and maintaining wind farms difficult and risky...

"...it's not racist..."

A Critical Examination of the Six Pillars of Climate Change Despair | Watts Up With That?

A Critical Examination of the Six Pillars of Climate Change Despair | Watts Up With That?
  • World still ‘on brink of climate catastrophe’[1]
  • World close to ‘irreversible’ climate breakdown[2]
  • Large regions of the world are becoming unlivable – lethal for 3 to 5 billion of us[3]
  • …slaughter, death, and starvation of 6 billion people[4] – Roger Hallam, Extinction Rebellion

In 2023 it’s hard to avoid seeing images and headlines like these. The result for many is a deep seated fear[5], anxiety[6] [7], and pessimism[8] [9] about the future. The topic of Climate Change (CC) has seeped into nearly every facet of our lives, and never in a positive way. It’s always present as a dark cloud hanging over society; a source of guilt for those who indulge in some of life’s most basic pleasures, the basis of moralistic judgments by those who like to signal their concern, and the cause of nihilism[10] [11] and hopelessness[12] felt by many in the youngest generations.

  • Why does CC have such deeply negative connotations and harmful effects on people’s mental well being?
  • Because we are constantly reminded of the six dark and destructive consequences of CC:

      1) heat will cause millions to die or live in misery

      2) tens of millions (some say billions) will be forced to migrate

      3) a million or more species will become extinct in just a few decades

      4) sea level rise will have disastrous world-wide consequences

      5) agricultural production will be devastated, causing widespread famine

      6) humanity will suffer floods, droughts, and other terrible natural disasters..

Energy Dept. Report Admits Economic Benefits of Keystone XL Pipeline

President Joe Biden’s Energy Department quietly published a congressionally mandated report in December showing the president revoking the Keystone XL Pipeline federal permits cost thousands of jobs and billions of dollars.

The report — Keystone XL Extension Permit Revocation: Energy Costs and Job Impacts — brought attention to the positive economic benefits the Keystone XL Pipeline could have had if Biden did not revoke the federal permits for it hours after being sworn into office.

"...(Side note: Especially in a city like Baton Rouge, which, like crime-ridden New Orleans, has a large contingent of poor young black men.
You are not supposed to notice these things, but everybody does, because one's safety depends on it.
Friend of mine there, an older man, a white liberal Democrat who spent a lifetime working with law enforcement, told me once that one of the hardest things for him to deal with personally, as a liberal who despises our history of racism in Louisiana, is the reality of total social breakdown in the black community, and its causal intersection with violent crime in the city.
He told me that the truth is, the core of the problem is beyond the ability of the state to fix
It all has to do with the annihilation of the family, in his view.
  • He talked about going to court once and seeing a mother in handcuffs who had been brought out of prison to be present when her handcuffed teenage son stood before the judge for sentencing for some violent crime he had committed. That, for him, was a symbol of our city's tragedy. But no one talks about that publicly, for obvious reasons.
"So what's the solution?" I asked.
He shrugged, as if to say, there's not one, at least not one that can be imposed from the outside.)...

"Millions of Pakistanis were without electricity or internet Monday for the second time in three months after an overnight cost-saving measure of planned temporary blackouts led to widespread outages.

Power was said to be restored after 15 hours late Monday, making it one of the nation's longest outages.

Government officials claimed an irregular voltage fluctuation occurred when operators were returning the system to normal levels after overnight conservation.

With no accountability, how can US intelligence community keep us safe? - James Bamford
  • James Bamford, author of the new book "Spyfail," says the US intelligence community has a lot of explaining to do when it comes to the loss of top-secret documents, cyberweapons and more.
"...For several years I have been working on a new book, “SpyFail,” that examines the collapse of the country’s counterintelligence and security operations.
And by far, no administration has had a more disastrous record than those of Barack Obama and Biden.
For years, insiders at the hyper-secret National Security Agency were able to walk out the door with more than half a billion pages of documents classified higher than top secret, some dealing with nuclear weapons and many of which ended up in Russia.
And that was after the supposed crackdown following the million or so documents removed by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, also on Obama and Biden’s watch.
  • Still another NSA insider was able to steal nearly all of the agency’s highly dangerous cyberweapons — the tech equivalent of loose nukes — and put them up for auction on the internet ...
