Washington Encouraging Fuel Users to Switch to Electric Vehicles

Washington Encouraging Fuel Users to Switch to Electric Vehicles - By Brett Davis
(The Center Square) – The Washington State Legislature’s Joint Transportation Committee has been updated on a draft final report on encouraging high consumption fuel users, or HCFUs, to switch to electric vehicles...
HCFUs are defined as drivers that burn 1,000 gallons or more of fuel per year, approximately 6.3% of motorists...
“The main takeaway there is that HCFUs primarily are driving heavier, larger vehicles,” Doyle said, referring to SUVs, pickup trucks and vans...

Comer: Biden Wants to Go After Legal Gun Owners and Add IRS Agents when Hunter Broke Gun, Tax Laws

Comer: Biden Wants to Go After Legal Gun Owners and Add IRS Agents when Hunter Broke Gun, Tax Laws

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) stated that it is galling to listen to President Joe Biden talk about the need to hire more IRS agents to go after tax cheats, reform the criminal justice system to make it more fair, or pass further gun control laws to go after law-abiding gun owners after his son, Hunter Biden, cheated on his taxes and broke federal gun laws himself and got a soft deal for breaking those laws.

Siena Heights University creates new ‘JEDI’ certificate with taxpayer dollars - ANNA WASCOVICH - FRANCISCAN UNIVERSITY OF STEUBENVILLE
"Siena Heights University will offer a new certificate in “Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion” this upcoming fall semester.
The new certificate will give students “hands-on experience” for how to apply DEI in the “workplace,” according to the professor who directs the program at the Michigan Catholic college.
The initiative stems from a National Endowment for the Humanities grant to explore the feasibility of the certificate.
Siena Heights received $34,905 so it could “design a new, coherent D&I certificate program at SHU that is qualitatively distinct from the D&I certificates offered at other institutions and which can be offered in either online or blended/hybrid formats,” according to the grant summary...

"Red China won Cold War II.
As Sun Tzu said 2,500 years ago, “The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”
  • Chairman Xi did so by using a bioweapon and bribes to eliminate the leader who opposed him.
  • Xi replaced him with Biden who he bought off a few years earlier for a lousy few million dollars.

Propagandists masking as "journalists"!-----Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes tells U.S. Supreme Court to shove it. Colorado

Instapundit - Blog Archive - RULE OF LAW Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes tells U.S. Supreme Court to shove it.

"Colorado has a law on the books that says, in simple terms, a business open to the public can’t discriminate against gay people.

The radical right-wing majority of the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling last week saying that, yes, it can.

The court took the side of a web designer in Colorado who said it was her First Amendment right to refuse to design wedding websites for same-sex couples.

Arizona has a law much like Colorado’s.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced in no uncertain terms that her office is determined to enforce it.

The Supreme Court be damned.

Illegal Immigrants Given Special Authority with New 'Privilege Cards' Being Rolled Out

Illegal Immigrants Given Special Authority with New 'Privilege Cards' Being Rolled Out

American sovereignty and the rule of law when it comes to immigration seem to be a thing of the past these days.

On June 22 the Supreme Court ruled against two states — Texas and Louisiana — suing the Biden administration guidelines on deportations. According to the court, the states didn’t have standing to bring the suit.

The result of this decision makes it more likely that any illegal immigrant who is arrested will not be deported unless they have committed a serious crime.

Biden's green hydrogen plan hits climate obstacle: Water shortage | Reuters
July 3 (Reuters) - The Biden administration's climate agenda is facing an unexpected challenge in drought-prone Corpus Christi, Texas, where a proposed clean hydrogen hub would require the installation of energy-intensive, expensive and potentially environmentally damaging seawater desalination plants...
A hydrogen hub would require access to millions of gallons of water – a challenge in Corpus Christi which is experiencing a multi-year drought...
"It makes no sense to create a purported clean energy source that in turn
  • destroys an entire ecosystem,
  • threatens other economies reliant upon a healthy bay system, and
  • usurps the water supply for residents," the Coastal Alliance to Protect the Environment, a Corpus Christi activist group, wrote in a letter to U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, shared with Reuters...

Expert: Scandals disqualify Biden from holding security clearance

The former chief of staff for the National Security Council says Joe Biden's scandals are too disturbing for him to qualify – if he was not president – for a security clearance to deal with the nation's secrets.

Fred Fleitz, who also is a former CIA analyst, was interviewed on "John Solomon Reports," and said there are too many concerns "he might be compromised."

Sad we'd need the courts to stop this.

  • From carjackings to aggressive drivers to violent demonstrations, it's not all that safe on our streets right now.
"...The class was four hours in the classroom and four hours on the range and covered three different scenarios:
  • Carjacking
  • Aggressive Motorists
  • Violent Demonstrations
Carjackings - Carjackings, according to Davis come in two different flavors
  • Opportunistic carjackings, where the crooks are looking for any old car in a storm, and
  • planned or targeted attacks, where the goal is to relieve someone of their expensive car...

Civility and honesty destroyed?-----The Bidens’ Existential Threats to the American Rule of Law - By Victor Davis Hanson

The Bidens’ Existential Threats to the American Rule of Law - By Victor Davis Hanson
"...They are in various ways undermining the tradition of self-reported income tax computation and voluntary compliance.
Our tax institutions, of course, are based on the real deterrence of a disinterested, uncompromised Internal Revenue Service...
Has it been in the past ever found to have applied so blatantly and deliberately one standard of tax enforcement to elites and quite another to everyday Americans?
Again, if that charge of unequal treatment in tax compliance were to prove true, then Humpy-Dumpty like, the entire American system of revenue collection would shatter.
In other words, millions of Americans might shrug, If Joe Biden, President of the United States and his criminally minded son, can get away with avoiding millions of dollars in taxes, then should not I, a nobody, at least have the right to avoid hundreds of dollars in taxes?”...

Palisades nuclear plant gets $150 million in Michigan budget - mlive.com
"Michigan lawmakers included $150 million toward the effort to restart the Palisades nuclear plant as part of a record $81.7 billion state budget passed last week...
If it happens, it would be the first nuclear plant nationwide to return to generating power after being decommissioned.
“...state Rep. Joey Andrews, D-St. Joseph...“In addition to jobs, investing in Palisades will deliver low-cost, clean energy to Michigan families and businesses. It’s a win-win.”
...The plant was closed last year when its fuel ran out and the owner sold the facility to Holtec.
The new owner has now twice applied for federal money to help get the plant operational again.
...Nuclear energy is a critical part of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s climate goals as more solar and wind generation infrastructure is constructed...

Biden's latest eco regs blasted by small businesses, manufacturers: 'Will do terrible damage' | Fox News

"OMA can appreciate EPA’s desire to restrict use of methylene chloride to the general public, retailers, and consumers such as home contractors/remodelers who may not be fully aware of the necessary precautions to safely use this chemical," OMA stated in its comment letter. "However, this proposed rule is a case of ‘throwing-the-baby-out-with-the-bathwater.’"

"We have grave concerns that EPA is going beyond its statutory authority with this rule, and usurping [the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA)] authority to regulate workplace safety by replacing OSHA’s limits with EPA’s own limits and practices," it continued. "Therefore, we urge in the strongest terms that the final rule exempts commercial and industrial sectors, that are already highly regulated by OSHA."

Why did the last ice age end? | Live Science - By Cameron Duke
  • Nearly 10,000 years ago, Earth came out of its most recent ice age. Vast, icy swaths of land around the poles thawed, melting the glaciers that had covered them for nearly 100,000 years.
"Why, after such a long period of cold, did the ice age finally come to an end?
Scientists are still searching for the answer...
Hall said that the traditional explanation — and short answer — for why ice ages begin and end is a series of eccentricities and wobbles in the planet's orbit known as the Milankovitch cycles...
