Rent fixed at 10 percent of a person’s income
A moratorium on evictions and foreclosures
A “socialist planned economy” to help “combat the climate crisis”
“Genuine reparations for centuries of slavery, colonialism, exploitation, and oppression can only be achieved by expropriating the capitalists and building socialism,” IMT also declares...

A New York judge has ordered the state of New York to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to the National Rifle Association after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the gun advocacy group regarding open carry of firearms.
The NRA was a party to the case of New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, a battle over a state law requiring applicants for unrestricted concealed-carry licenses in New York to demonstrate a special need for self-defense. The simple desire for personal protection or protection of one's property was reportedly not reason enough.

Stranger still is the denial of the current crime wave in our major cities. Predators and thugs have turned once iconic downtowns into either war zones or ghost towns or both. Smash-and-grab swarming of stores and matter-of-fact shoplifting are destroying commerce in our major cities. Unsustainable stores either leave or shut down. Communities who vote for politicians who defund the police blame the stores for leaving—but not the criminals whose brazen thefts made it impossible to do business in the inner city...
Despite our epidemic of fantasy, there remains reality. And we will soon rediscover it all too soon.

On Monday’s broadcast of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” White House Council of Economic Advisers Chair Jared Bernstein stated that it’s “clear we have to support” funding for Ukraine and “we can’t let a small group of extreme Republicans block this critically important geopolitical investment” but “We’ll have to see” if border security funding is part of keeping the government open.
After Bernstein stated that the process of avoiding a shutdown altogether isn’t over yet and noted that President Joe Biden said that American support for Ukraine can’t be interrupted, co-host Becky Quick then asked, “Will support at the border, at our border be part of that too? Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, pleaded not guilty to three felony gun charges Tuesday at an arraignment in Delaware federal court.
The first son pleaded not guilty to three counts related to his October 2018 purchase of a Colt Cobra revolver while allegedly being addicted to crack cocaine, CNN reported. Hunter Biden was indicted on Sept. 14 for two counts related to giving false statements about his drug use and a third count for gun possession while he was a known drug user. He faces a maximum of 25 years in prison for the gun charges.

Like many other reporters and photojournalists — both independents and those working directly for established media companies — I followed the story that day where it went. And it happened to be inside the Capitol Building. Depending on who is doing the counting, between 100 and 200 journalists were either already inside the Capitol, covering the event from restricted grounds, or followed the crowd inside.

So, in a few weeks, you’ve got more dead than you had in Afghanistan and Iraq combined over 20 years.
Our military, which has shrunk dramatically over the last three decades, simply cannot accept that rate of casualties, especially when it can’t fill its ranks with volunteers anymore.
So, the answer is apparently to not rely on volunteers.
Don’t count out establishment pressure for a new draft.
After all, it’s not a meat grinder without meat... But they need troops – it’s no fun being a general without any.
Who would a draft be targeted at?
Traditional, conservative Americans, from mostly the rural South and Midwest, the traditional recruiting grounds for a substantial percentage of our troops.
And those are, not coincidentally, the very people that the folks in charge hate the most...
