- The SAT assesses students on college readiness based on their scores in both the math and evidence-based reading and writing sections of the test.
- Students must get at least a 530 SAT subscore on math and a 480 subscore on the reading and writing section to meet the SAT’s college-ready benchmarks.
- Students who meet those benchmarks have at least a 75% chance of earning at least a C in college freshman math, English, social studies and/or science classes, according to the College Board, which administers the test, given annually to high school juniors.
