Cheer on Academia Burning Itself Down

Cheer on Academia Burning Itself Down - Kurt Schlichter
"...How else could you explain having three university poohbahs sit there on camera in front of Congress and be unable – or, more likely, unwilling – to say that cheering on Jewish genocide is bad?
Is it bad?
Yes.
Period.
Nothing follows.
  • They did not say that because they actually do not believe it.
To them, Jews are settlers and colonists, and decolonization is, well, messy...
  • What they failed to understand is that normal people do not accept this morally bankrupt paradigm...

A few thoughts-----Family, friends look back on life of 20-year-old Muskegon man shot and killed

  • Why did Fox17 "whiteface" this photo? Where is the "outrage"
  • The article mentions NOTHING about GANGS. Is "wrong-crowd" the new word for the word-we-dare-not-say?
  • No hint of this 20 year old having a job. Where did he get money?
  • The moronic, yet obligatory "...always had dreams of becoming an athletic director one day..." with no mention of any post-HS education effort. Why not "dreams of being a billionaire owner of a newspaper"?
  • Why is every awful end-result in certain communities always portrayed in the media as "good person, just bad luck"?

Friends and family of Dominic Sugin told FOX 17 he's the 20-year-old Muskegon man police said was shot and killed in the 1500 block of Hoyt Street Wednesday morning...

We Need An Immediate Ceasefire In Ukraine, Not Israel

We Need An Immediate Ceasefire In Ukraine, Not Israel - BY: JOHN DANIEL DAVIDSON
  • It’s time to acknowledge that the U.S. isn’t going to risk World War III to maintain Ukraine’s 1991 borders.
"...But the border isn’t the only good reason to block the funding package.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that the war in Ukraine is an unwinnable quagmire, and that for all the calls we hear for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, what’s really needed is a ceasefire in Ukraine, where the solution today is more or less what it was before Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022: a negotiated settlement.
  • Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio hinted at this in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper over the weekend, saying there’s no reason to think $61 billion will accomplish what $100 billion hasn’t...

The Poorest Town in Michigan Has Been Revealed - Newton County News- US Local News

"...Baldwin, a town of 1,036 residents in Muskegon County, emerged as Michigan’s poorest town and the 14th poorest in the nation...
  • Potential Solutions for Baldwin’s Improvement:
...While there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, experts propose various strategies.
Infrastructure Investment...
Support for Small Businesses: Providing support to small businesses...
Education Enhancement: Improving educational opportunities, including early childhood education and vocational training...
Access to Public Services: Enhancing access to public services, particularly healthcare and transportation, could positively impact individual well-being and societal productivity...
In conclusion - while Baldwin currently grapples with economic hardships, strategic planning, investment, and collaboration could pave the way for future growth and progress.

The destructive moral rot begins in academia!-----Niall Ferguson: The Treason of the Intellectuals | The Free Press

Niall Ferguson: The Treason of the Intellectuals | The Free Press
  • Anyone who has a naive belief in the power of higher education to instill morality has not studied the history of German universities in the Third Reich.
"In 1927 the French philosopher Julien Benda published La trahison des clercs—“The Treason of the Intellectuals”—which condemned the descent of European intellectuals into extreme nationalism and racism.
By that point, although Benito Mussolini had been in power in Italy for five years, Adolf Hitler was still six years away from power in Germany and 13 years away from victory over France.
But already Benda could see the pernicious role that many European academics were playing in politics...with results that would be catastrophic for all of Europe.
  • A century later, American academia has gone in the opposite political direction—leftward instead of rightward—but has ended up in much the same place
  • The question is whether we—unlike the Germans—can do something about it.
For nearly ten years, rather like Benda, I have marveled at the treason of my fellow intellectuals.
I have also witnessed the willingness of trustees, donors, and alumni to tolerate the politicization of American universities by an illiberal coalition of “woke” progressives, adherents of “critical race theory,” and apologists for Islamist extremism.
Throughout that period, friends assured me that I was exaggerating...

FBI whistleblower tells WND how conservatives are painted as 'domestic terrorists'

As has become increasingly apparent, the FBI actually engaged in election interference leading up to the 2020 election, while reprioritizing an agenda to outlaw political dissidence. Suddenly, FBI agents were being notified that individuals or groups who champion traditional, patriotic American values were domestic threats.

Elon Musk to open new university in Texas 'focused on teaching in STEM subjects' | Blaze Media

Tax filings originally obtained by Bloomberg revealed that Elon Musk plans to open a school in Austin, Texas, "focused on teaching in STEM subjects." Musk's private foundation, "The Foundation," requested tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service as it continues to formulate plans to open an independent primary and secondary school that will eventually "expand its operations to create a university dedicated to education at the highest levels." The university will seek accreditation.

The path to "government property insurance"?!!-----The Wall Street Journal The Man at the Center of America’s Biggest Insurance Crisis - Jean Eaglesham

The Wall Street Journal The Man at the Center of America’s Biggest Insurance Crisis Story by Jean Eaglesham
  • When he campaigned to be California’s insurance commissioner, Ricardo Lara warned about the risk of climate change
  • Insurers agreed, so they tried to jack up rates and cut back on coverage.
"When Lara blocked their rate increases, insurers, including Allstate, State Farm and Farmers Insurance, stopped or restricted new home-insurance business.
That put Lara in the middle of the biggest insurance crisis in the country...
Lara faces a make-or-break year as he races to woo back the insurers.
  • His approach could influence other state regulators wrestling with their own insurance no-go areas...

Opinion: Bread Lines, Empty Shelves and Failed Government Initiatives - Illinois Review - John F. Di Leo
  • The Biden-Harris regime has announced a new “White House Council on Supply Chain Resilience.”
"This new council is charged with preventing such problems as we experienced in the famous “supply chain crisis” of 2021 and early 2022 that preceded, and contributed to creating the current economic downturn...
  • First, a refresher: The United States, and in fact the entire developed world, has allowed itself to become dependent on Asia, especially Red China, for an enormous range of manufactured products, from toys to clothing, from tools to decorations, from components to finished goods.
  • Before 2020, the global ocean transportation network, which moves primarily by intermodal container (mostly stackable 20’ and 40’ steel boxes that cranes transfer back and forth from ship to train to truck) moved like clockwork in a careful and difficult balance, with surprisingly dependable transcontinental and transoceanic transit times...
And all this worked smoothly, with transit times generally around three to six weeks.
Until 2021...

Judge Finds Enough Illegally Cast Ballots to Overturn Election Results | Facts Matter | EpochTV
"Three days ago, in Louisiana, enough evidence of illegal voting was uncovered—such that a state Supreme Court judge completely nullified the results of an election.
  • His rationale was that enough ballots were cast illegally to change the outcome of the race, and therefore, the entire thing just has to be redone.
About three weeks ago, on Nov. 18, there was an election held for sheriff in Caddo Parish—located in the northwestern part of the state.
After about 43,000 people voted, the official results showed that the Democrat, Henry Whitehorn, had won the election by a margin of just a single vote...

Disney latest blue-stater to flee to North Carolina; not all feel the 'magic' | Blaze Media

Disney may also bring with it the same baggage it brought to Florida: contentious politics. The state’s solidly Republican legislature will have a skeptical eye on this utopian community so near the state’s capital, and government watchdogs should be tracking any efforts by the state to subsidize Disney’s new colony. North Carolina participated in the rat race for Amazon HQ2 by offering up $2.2 billion in subsidies for the corporation, but in the end, it did not outbid NYC and Northern Virginia.
