Chicago's '51st Alderman' Rails Against the Corrupt City, Calls for Trump to Come In and Clean Up

“Black people have been on the Democratic plantation long enough,” according to Blakemore. “We have to teach these people, these Democrats, how to treat us. … We cannot continue to just vote blindly for the Democrats …

“Try Trump out,” he said. “Try the Republican out. It can’t get any worse.”

In one recent meeting, Blakemore called Chicago “the most corrupt city in the United States” and appealed directly to Trump, urging the former president to “come in here and clean this mess up!”

Al Gore: Ban Free Speech, Just Like Guns, to Save the Planet - Daniel Greenfield / Sultan Knish articles
"While most people forgot about Al Gore a decade ago, the 75-year-old environmental tycoon with a net worth in the hundreds of millions (also a former vice president) has doubled down on his flavor of green fascism in the name of saving the planet from everyone but himself.
Gore is making $2 million a month from his “green investment firm”...
  • At COP28, the UN climate summit, he demanded that voting rules be changed so that a majority of countries, rather than a full consensus of nations, could impose mandates on the United States and oil-producing nations. That means a bunch of third world countries would have veto power over our entire economy. Good for them, really bad for us.
  • Fresh off insulting the Saudis and the UAE...he decided to also go to war against freedom of speech and the internet...

  • Aboutthedata.com, at least in its initial incarnation, leaves out many data elements that Acxiom markets to its corporate clients — intimate details like whether a person is a ‘potential inheritor’ or an ‘adult with senior parent,’ or whether a household has a ‘diabetic focus’ or ‘senior needs.’
  • ...They maintain massive databases about us, with information ranging from marital status to education level to things we’ve purchased...
  • Just recently, it’s been revealed that the U.S. government uses the pop-up notifications on our phones to read our messages. Why are they spying on our personal conversations? And what else are they doing to access our personal data that we don’t yet know about?..

Civilizational Jenga - by Glenn Harlan Reynolds

Civilizational Jenga - by Glenn Harlan Reynolds
  • ...What makes me sad now is the ongoing game of Civilizational Jenga that our ruling class is playing. One by one, they’re withdrawing the supports of civil society, in a process that will inevitably lead to a collapse. They’re taking what was a very robust society, and consuming all the safety margins, bit by bit.
  • What really makes me sad is that while some of the people involved – let’s call them “the morons” for convenience’s sake – are doing this out of shortsightedness, cupidity, or sheer partisan bloodthirstiness, I’m increasingly convinced that there’s a contingent at the top that knows exactly what it’s doing, and is fine with it.
Roger Kimball gets at it in a recent piece:
“This is the same old trick,” Trump said when he got the news that the Colorado Supreme Court voted 4-3 to keep him off the primary ballot for the 2024 presidential election.
Oops. Sorry. I got my papers mixed up. That was actually Abraham Lincoln in 1860 when he got the news that some Southern states had voted to keep him off the ballot. Eventually 10 states did so.
So here we are again....

...The thing about Civil Wars is, they don’t come from the bottom up.
They come from the top.

  • And looking at who’s on top today, and what they seem to want, makes me sad.
