- 1776 - The American Declaration of Independence was read aloud to Gen. George Washington's troops in New York.
- 1790 - The Swedish navy captured one third of the Russian fleet at the naval battle of Svensksund in the Baltic Sea.
- 1868 - The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified. The amendment was designed to grant citizenship to and protect the civil liberties of recently freed slaves. It did this by prohibiting states from denying or abridging the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States, depriving any person of his life, liberty, or property without due process of law, or denying to any person within their jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
- 1877 - Alexander Graham Bell, Gardiner Greene Hubbard, Thomas Sanders and Thomas Watson formed the Bell Telephone Company.

A spokesperson for the plan released a statement Friday.
“As we’ve been saying for more than two years now, Project 2025 does not speak for any candidate or campaign," the statement read.
"We are a coalition of more than 110 conservative groups advocating policy & personnel recommendations for the next conservative president," the spokesperson added. "But it is ultimately up to that president, who we believe will be President Trump, to decide which recommendations to implement. Rather than obsessing over Project 2025, the Biden campaign should be addressing the 25th Amendment.”

Democratic Congressman Don Beyer of Virginia ...While introducing Biden at a fundraiser earlier this week...compared the President to none other than Jesus Christ.

A flash mob of roughly 70 looters ransacked a California gas station convenience store, which cost approximately $100,000 in losses. The owner said it took Oakland police about nine hours to respond to the looting.
Around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, a flash mob looted the 76 Gas Station & Mini Market near the San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport.
The owner, Sam Mardaie, said there were two employees working at the time and the looting lasted around 40 minutes. The business was only offering window service at the time of the pillaging. However, the looters broke into the market through the front door.

There has been an ongoing legal battle to secure the release of the writings that the killer left behind. After the tragedy last year, Nashville police vowed to release the documents, but that day never came. The FBI pressured against the release of the documents, and the families of the victims oppose the documents making their way into public hands.
