Almost everywhere you look, we are in a crisis of institutional competence.

• The Secret Service, whose failures in securing Trump's Butler, PA speech are legendary and frankly hard to believe at this point, is one example. (Nor is the Butler event the Secret Service's first embarrassment.)
• The Navy, whose ships keep colliding and catching fire.
• Major software vendor Crowdstrike, whose botched update shut down major computer systems around the world.
• The United States government, which built entire floating harbors to support the D-Day invasion in Europe, but couldn't build a workable floating pier in Gaza.
• And of course, Boeing, whose Starliner spacecraft is stuck, apparently indefinitely, at the International Space Station....

• Today people are taught, when it comes to slavery, America was the worst...

• Partly thanks to the New York Times' "1619 Project," students are taught that "America's slavery (was) unlike anything that had existed before."

• Kids are now taught that slavers bought people in Africa and shipped them to the United States. Few are taught that most were shipped elsewhere.
• "Between 10.7 million and 12 million slaves from Africa went to the New World -- we got a little under 400,000," says Reilly. That's less than 4%.

The subcommittee’s interim staff report details how the DHS, from fiscal years 2021 to 2023, released migrants on the federal government’s terrorist watchlist — a database that lists those foreign nationals directly involved in terrorism and those who have a nexus to terrorism — into the U.S.

The report states:

Under the Biden-Harris administration, of the more than 250 illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist who were encountered by Border Patrol at the southwest border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, DHS has released into American communities at least 99, with at least 34 others in DHS custody but not yet removed from the United States.
