"Law enforcement is necessary because crime exists."---Fans of Best of the Web Today

Image result for "defund the police"Fans of Best of the Web Today--Michael Smith
"Law enforcement is necessary because crime exists.
Crime was not created to give law enforcement officers a job.
The situations of George Floyd and Rayshard Brooks were significantly different but share an important commonality - both men had extensive criminal histories which clearly factored into the perspective of the police during the interaction with both men.
Those histories informed the low enforcement officers on the scene that a negative reaction to detainment was at least possible, if not likely.
Minneapolis is about to find out about predicates.
They are about to find out that abolishing law enforcement officers does NOT eliminate crime.
One thing of which you can be sure, any amount of funding that gets cut from the budget as they "defund the police" will never be returned to the taxpayer - more ineffective social programs are in the offing."

West Texas City Refuses to Enforce Governor’s New Coronavirus Order on Bar Closures

Abilene, Texas, officials announced they will not enforce Governor Greg Abbott’s new Coronavirus order, which calls for the closure of bars and reduces allowable restaurant capacity amid an increase in new cases.
Governor Abbott ordered all bars closed effective noon local time Friday, June 26. Outdoor public gatherings will also be capped at 100 and leaves local authorities to decide if capacity may be increased.

More than 20,000 dead registered voters could receive mail-in ballots in California: Court brief
Image result for stealing elections"A court briefing in California alleges tens of thousands of dead registered voters could receive mail-in ballots in the 2020 presidential election.
Amicus briefs filed by the Public Interest Legal Foundation in California allege 23,000 dead people have not been removed from voter rolls in the state.
“California has a history of demonstrating that automation in voting processes will cause errors. Auto-mailings to active registrants won’t protect the state from sending ballots to dead and duplicated registrants — especially those who’ve shown an acknowledged willingness to take advantage of extra votes,” PILF President J. Christian Adams said in a statement...

Ayanna Pressley: 'Black Lives Matter is a mandate from the people. It's time. Pay us what you owe us'
"Rep. Ayanna Pressley said on the House floor that the Black Lives Matter movement is a “mandate,” and the time has come for people to “pay us what you owe us.”
“I rise today on behalf of every black family that has been robbed of a child,” the Massachusetts congresswoman and member of “the Squad,” said.
“On behalf of every family member that has been forced to see their loved one lynched on national television

  • Driving while black.
  • Jogging while black.
  • Sleeping while black.
  • We have been criminalized for the very way we show up in the world.
  • Under the harsh gaze of far too many, my black body is seen as a threat, always considered armed.”
“Centuries of institutionalized oppression will not be undone overnight, for racism in America is as structural as the marble pillars of this very institution," the Democrat added. "With the power of the pen we must legislate accountability, dismantle these systems, and move in the direction of justice and healing.
...Black Lives Matter is a mandate from the people.
It’s time.
Pay us what you owe us.
Our black skin is not a crime, it is the beautiful robe of nation builders.”

How can this hate be the fault of anyone but the LEFT?

"Here's the location of the temperature sensor at Tampa International Airport, which recorded a record all-time high of 99 deg. F for Tampa yesterday
(UPDATE: contrary to news reports, it tied the high in June 1985).
While it was an unusually hot day, partly because of the Saharan air layer overhead, temperatures from this station will obviously be affected by interstate highways, runways, and jet traffic that did not exist in, say, 1950."

Why is this not on every TV news show?-----Man charged in Flint Twp. attack on Macy's employee

Man charged in Flint Twp. attack on Macy's employee
"Flint — An 18-year-old Mount Morris Township man has been charged and is being sought in the assault of a manager at the Macy’s department store in the Genesee Valley Center.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton announced Damire Canell Palmer is charged in a not-in-custody warrant with intent to do great bodily harm, a 10-year felony, in the attack on the 50-year-old manager who was working in the men’s clothing section around 5:30 p.m. on June 15.
In surveillance video obtained from Macy’s by Flint Township Police, Palmer is allegedly seen walking around the store. He then approaches and sucker-punches the manager in the head from behind, knocking him to the floor, according to authorities.
The video allegedly shows Palmer continuing to strike the manager while the employee is on the floor. Palmer then exits the store with another man.
...Leyton indicated that despite public comments on social media, the police investigation did not uncover any evidence of provocation by the store manager.
...Leyton also said he and his senior staff reviewed the case for possibly charging Palmer with a hate crime, called ethnic intimidation by statute, but he said there is insufficient probable cause evidence that would support it.
The store manager is white and the suspect is African American....

Tucker Carlson: Riots Are ‘Designed’ To Destroy ‘Our System Of Government’ And Remove Donald Trump | The Daily Caller

“What we are living through right now despite what people have told you is not a local problem. This is a national crisis. The riots are designed to produce a national result: the destruction of our system of government and the removal of Donald Trump,” Carson said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
He urged Trump to act now, to show leadership or else he is in danger of not being reelected. “When you refuse to fight for the system you run, you are done.”

  • The crisis has laid bare the tendencies of authoritarian leaders and their disregard for human life.
"In between Trump’s erratic and non-scientific ideas and Bolsonaro’s outright refusal to acknowledge the virus, the US and Brazil, as well as India and Russia have a lot in common in how they dealt with the pandemic — and they are paying a heavy price for it.

The GOP Releases an Ad Attacking Black Lives Matter - Louder With Crowder

Leftist activists are basically running rampant, destroying public property, taking over blocks of cities, and generally breaking laws that any other American citizen would get arrested for. Worse, some of our Democrat elected officials not only AREN'T enforcing the law, they're signaling their support for the activists. At a time like this, an opposition party that did some opposing could be helpful. We don't seem to have that. Though this new ad from the GOP could be signaling that they are waking up.

Only works if lying lib-media covers it up!-----Voter Fraud: The Democrats’ Ace in the Hole | Power Line

Voter Fraud: The Democrats’ Ace in the Hole | Power Line
"Right now the polling looks grim for President Trump, but the Democrats aren’t taking any chances. Much as the Russia hoax was their “insurance policy” in 2016, voter fraud is their ace in the hole this year.
In recent cycles voter fraud has been institutionalized as part of the Democrats’ electoral strategy, but now it is being elevated to a new high.
Or low.
The current drive, in many states, for voting by mail is simply an attempt to facilitate fraud by causing millions of ballots to be mailed out to non-existent, dead, moved or unqualified voters.
Some of those ballots will be filled out by Democrats and will make their way into the electoral count.
The Democrats’ concern for COVID is touching, but their purpose here is not to protect frail and elderly voters, it is to facilitate fraud on a grand scale.
Michael Ramirez makes the point.

Of course not!
But far too many believe this ridiculous statement that defies basic logic and observation.

The 97% Myth has succeeded in fooling many people because the phony number is repeated over and over again by those who have a financial and/or ideological stake in the outcome.
By the way, what any scientist “believes’ doesn’t matter anyway.

"Locals and visitors could face steep penalties for failing to comply with face-covering requirements in a mountain town nestled in central Colorado.
In a recent public push, Aspen is hoping to remind visitors and residents that wearing a mask in town is expected at all times when six feet of social distancing can not be maintained. Maskless violators could be fined $50 for the first offense, $250 for the second, and a mandatory court appearance, and $2,650 and/or a prison term of up to one year for all subsequent violations.
The rule applies to those on the trails and sidewalks, grocery shoppers, and those riding on public transportation.
